That was an odd crash from Gerrans, looked like his wheel slipped out from under him but he wasn't leaning over to far so I wonder if something was on the road or his tyre rolled off

heavy wind burst I think

Yeah could of been that, the way he fell he certainly didn't know he was coming down.

That combined with deep dish wheels - who rides them in this kind of whether?!

Peloton sitting up means that Sky riders behind can come back too, this is ridiculous, they have no reason to wait so Froome can come back.

Brailsford at least would.

Exactly, the moment Froome stops to wait for his team, I'd attack.

Actually the Dura Ace C50's cope with the crosswinds very well

Would Quintana had crashed, you would find it great, if Sky waited, but ridiculous, if they pushed....

The difference is though that not Froome crashed, but his teammates.

It's all good, the older deep dish wheels were pretty horrible in windy conditions so its been a progression and they've gotten better. I wouldn't be riding anything deeper than 50 mm wheels in these conditions

Still cant belive they did all that work for nothing, nada, just because Froome asked them nicely

Guess the riders just like wasting all their energy and looking like plebs.
