PDM were bought by Festina, and a lot of the staff and riders rode for RMO and Festina. All the teams are linked...

Cyclist like Merckx or Hinault should have almost every stat over 80, how will you manage that? |

Nibali was already in the DB in 2011 !
And for Merckx or Hinault, in comparison with other riders they are not the best in all fields (except Merckx in hills) but they are the best on average.
For example Hinault climbed less good than Lucho Herrera but regarding ITT Hinault beat him easily. |

Looks amazing. I'am stoked to play with this database. The distribution of stats for historical riders is truly a daunting task and I commend you for your effort and times spent on this project.
As for the hill specialist I am sure you already considered this, but I can't help but feel that Rebellin and Gilbert deserve to be among the best owing to their incredible Ardennes triples. Maybe I am just overemphasising the significance of that exploit, but in my mind it stands out as the epitome of a puncher.
Regardless, riders like Gilbert and Bettini are probably not going to have much of a chance in the hilly classics (apart from Amstel, possibly) in a database like this with so many strong climbers due to the changes in climbing making the Mountain stat too significant. |

I agree with you but Philippe Gilbert has 80 in hills and Rebellin 79. They can easily compete with other big hill specialists.
EDIT : maximum statistic for each characteristic is 82. |

I see. I understand the reasoning for not having too high stats as it gets rather pointless if everybody has 85 in everything, but the danger of low stats is that regens might become too powerful.
It just doesn't feel right if you're playing with all the legends and then suddenly a couple of 23 year old regens are better at climbing than Bahamontes. |
