Cool to see Bystrøm try his luck, trying to save something from a race where Boasson Hagen couldn't follow up on a good start and just went completely invisible.
Congratulations to Alakagom on the stage and rjc_43 on the GC! Ponzi's season is right up there with Bewley and Pluchkin, incredible riders who are really proving themselves. A great race for outside bets like Ricco, Gastauer and Lutsenko as well, taking the opportunity when riders like Trofimov and Boasson Hagen fail.
Thanks for the report, sgdanny, though, I must admit I'm looking forward to see the final stage and then forget about the race result wise |

When Sagan went early, I was worried he was set for another overperformance! In the end it's Ponzi again.
5th is a pretty great GC result for Gastauer really. Add in the stage win, and it's a good race. Schleck and somehow, Van der Lijke, finishing Top 20 is even better!

Top 10 for Vanendert. Nice. Would be a pretty much perfect race if Mollema would go in the breakaway and take the KoM jersey in the last stage

Well, I cant really think of anything to say that I haven't been saying all season already (apart from anything Cunego has raced)
Thanks for the reports!

Ricco staying in top 3 is nice. Now I hope Tzortzakis can be arsed to do shit on the final stage.

Lame stuff from Bobridge to finish outside the Top-25!! This is not what we needed after a low scoring TdF...
At least Burghardt's performance kinda saved this race. No special fluke breakaway stuff, but a solid Top-15 on home soil is nice. Eh, would (!) be nice!

Isnt it strange to say that Ponzi won the race, even when there is still stage to go?
Congrats to Rjc anyway, i hope he will hold on the lead and grab a GC. Also congrats to Alak, finally some joy after some really bad weeks for Quickstep.
Our race ended on day4, but nice to see Bratashcuk trying.

Well.... No disaster thanks to Burghardt finishing 15th here. Quite a nice result aand best German as well
Bobridge disappointing though. But I guess that's always the ddanger in a packed field, that some 80+ puncheurs ride too passive then. A pity that those few breakaways from Visconti and Grivko didn't end with breakaway wins (or stage results for Oz). Really need those lpoints that some other teams keep scoring on a consistent base!
Thanks for the reports all the way! Italian crisis my a**!

Stage win, top 10 in the GC, 2nd in the KoM rankings. Life's good, man.

Holloway again very much to the fore - good stuff from him. Skiddypants also tried gamefully too - very nice to see.
Thanks sgdanny for the reports

We can only look forward for the next race. Congratulations to rjc_43 on the overall win and Crommy on the stage win. Sligthly surprised to see Degenkolb being passed, assuming he opened his sprint with around 1000 meters to go. Well done, Roelandts.
Thanks a lot for the reports and all the extra work with the re-run, sgdanny! |

Fairly bad from Gautier, but a few nice results from Petit - I think relegation should be all but confirmed now. Thanks for the reports sgdanny, sorry for being absent for much of the race, I hope to be back properly from here on in |

Congrats to rjc and thanks for the race sgdanny, I know it must have sucked to report it twice.
What else can I say, another horrible performance from Schumacher finishing 16th. A nice stage podium from a breakaway though, that's about all I can take away from it.

Tzortzakis with an underwhelming performance throughout the race. He should have been able to do better, but never really found the melody. Ricco, however, overperformed with a blevet performance. 3rd is a really good result, and Koretzky getting a few additional points is nice aswell.
Overall a good race, where we keep on losing ground to Vesuvio, though. The next race will be the same unfortunately, so Im just pleased we managed to Keep/expand the lead to Aker, Tinkoff and Metinvest - I suppose that those are the closest to upset the top 3.

#whatitaliancrisis ?
Nice reports all the way sgdanny, good job with unlucky re-run of the race.
We got more than expected with stage win and leaders jersey for three days, great job Hačecký! Also several top 10s from Guardini are nice.
Big congrats to Rjc, seeing them winning is next best thing to our success. Ponzi is ruling the hills this year, should be in a three way fight for rider of the season i would say.

Decent result for Howard, but overall not really the best race for my team - Sagan was dissapointing - from over-to-underachieving. Congrats to Good Energy, Ponzi is a beast. Also thanks for the reports a lot.

First of all well done danny for the high quality reports given it was the second time through Congrats to rjc as well. Personally very happy, white jersey and GC points should be a healthy boost in the relegation battle!
