Finally joined our team after being at other teams on loans for two years, and does a pretty decent job. Not the top 10 we're hoping for yet, but at least we've got a jersey to show

Disappointing to see the break stay away as the race already had a nice GC fight shaping up, which may now be a little ruined.
Daspuntsag is such a good breakaway magnet. Wins a HC stage race last year, and now well placed in a C1 - that could be huge points for Fox, though of course there is still Willunga to come.
Pretty great for the "Irish Rovers" too. Would not have expected Shaw to follow the main puncheurs move, and also Hamilton in the break, and a couple of other riders nicely placed in GC thanks to time bonuses.

Del Nero
(Kinda hurts to have a shitty start into the season and seeing former riders doing well)
Indeed a shame about the gap/break, as the fight behind was/is pretty cool. Guess both Del Nero and that USAPCC winner will survive Willunga at least in the first groups. Still, Di Maggio looking strong. He could take it now.

This crash was indeed unfortunate. That said, good for you, that at least McEvoy stayed strong and is in a good GC position.

Same here. At least one rider to be able to show something when the other leader crashes.
I like that you have hyped Suparman before the first reports. I wrote them with his lines included earlier. So it`s a nice coincidence.

I completely agree with Avin on the sitting up topic but i guess that's just PCM
I am kinda surprised Geschke is not doing anything. Similar riders such as Reimer or McEvoy are showing nice things while even weaker riders like Matysiak are at least sprinting for positions.
Regarding AI. Yes, quite a pity. Didn`t really notice it while playing. But it`s weird to see that while leaders attack, the peloton itself is losing another 2min on the break in the final.
It wasn`t totally sitting up as it would have lost easily 10min then. But the pace is far too slow then. In especially as a handful of teams weren`t even in the attack.
Regarding breakaway staying in front. Another thing that is not ideal obviously. Here it was easy as they were already climbing the last difficulty. But in general they have too much energy left late in comparison to the peloton. |

With that profile I can't say I'm too surprised in a breakaway win - that tends to happen on a lot of stages like this which finish on a decent length downhill.

Bringing those lost seconds back was crucial for Di Maggio. He has a very good chance of winning the race now. Pozzato will need to gather some more bonus seconds to stay ahead.
Also, interesting tactics from Buff - Polska, going with Ventoso as their GC leader instead of Betancourt. Not sure if that will pay off.
Overall a nice race so far. Good job on the reporting, Roturn.

Really happy with the stage today! Daspuntsug coming 3rd on the stage and now 2nd overall! Also 2nd in KOM. Hopefully we can improve a bit and maybe even take the overall!

It's once again a big mystery for me when I can expect him to try something. Already last year he sometimes ignored stages where he was the big favourite just to come back with a stage ein on the next stage which doesn't suit him too much.
With all those punchy sprinters around I obviously should not expect countless stage wins in this race but im of course not satisfied yet. He seems to be positioned quite decently after all when one looks at the results so one could expect some attempts...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Good result from Meyer, but why Watson!!!!! Interesting stage and a fantastic report, roturn. Hopefully the break away riders won't be strong enough to survive Willunga.

As we suspected the breakaway survived but the punchuers got the separation they needed. Stage 5 will now be a a tactical defense by DiMaggio. The other contenders will have to attack.
Stage 4 looks like a sprint finish and the peloton will be very attentive and not let anybody steal a win.
AMEX is hoping that Nizzolo can get a good launch from Grillo's and challenge for a podium.

Not impressed by my team's effort at defending the jersey. We certainly have the strength to reel such a group back in, but we simply didn't do it. Furdi's late chasse patate attack is a proper symbol of the pathetically indecisive nature of Gazelle in stage 3.
GC fight just got even harder. These 3 are all decent puncheurs, so it's going to be quite a challenge to overtake them again. Definitely not impossible though.

He is indeed.
Probably shouldn't have sold him, but didn't want to deny him this chance of becoming an important rider in a Mongolian team.
As you can see he's very grateful.

A top-100 would be appreciated...
Anyway, I'm not surprised by this stage being ended by a winning break. Happened in EPIC as well. Main winner of this stage is Di Maggio, I think he won't face much rivalry for the overall after this stage.

Maybe PCM14 is more realistic then we think and it assume that Betancourt is still "FAT" from the off-season |

And Bobridge focussed on his hour record instead of showing something Badaling?

Baaah, we're here with our best riders available, and still all of them are over 5 minutes behind after three "easy" stages. If this is a sign for what to come this season, we can just forget promotion.
Happy to see fellow Asian team Golomt Bank doing good though. Daspuntsag definitely having strong legs at the moment! |

Not what we expected from the day, but happy to take maiden victory of the season - well done del Nero (had hoped for that on one of the 1st 2 stages, surprised to see it on day 3 -> thought AI would have had us policing the bunch for Klemme today!). Del Nero is certainly well suited to this sort of ride, hence why we picked him up from Oz in the off-season even although doesn't help our age profile. Looks like money well-spent already .
Continues the run of old-age pensioners success at TDU .
Not sure what this will mean for us on GC, as Del Nero bound to lose jersey on stage 5, so hope Klemme doesn't end up acting as a domestique for the yellow jumper and they both tumble down the standings! Pre-race hopes for overall were for a top 5 (potentially pushing on to the podium) and a top 15. Now in that position halfway through race, but expected Chaves rather than Del Nero to be backing up Klemme.
Even although brought a victory, AI for the peleton was still dreadful.

I still hoped it was only in classics...
Demare could have Top 5'd this, but we simply had no spare race days left at all after taking care of Nerz, Ciolek, Kelderman and Daniel.
