but what is really the max stages for a grand tour?
You shouldn't be able to create a tour with more than 28 stages.

Dem-files?
Thanks all for the feedback and stuff! Hope this will be a fun tour for those, who actually play it. Enjoyed doing it and i'm pleased with most of the stage's look and profiles.
Based on this map there are PCM Dem-files for China

I'm still at the start of a new season but this summer this will be the TdF course. Just in case other players don't know this, to get this stage race properly into the game you have to rename all files extensively. So starting with 01_Baltimore_ITT.cds, I turned it into top_tdf_01_USA.cds. top_tdf_ to make this a Tour de France stage and then just USA, I believe all _filenames_ longer than 4 characters will be ignored. Note also that stage 19 comes in two "versions", one classifying it as a flat TT, one as a hilly TT, choose just one.

I've now completed my first Tour of America - as a TdF replacement. Stage design is excellent, lots of variation. If I have to nitpick, I didn't really like the dirt roads on stage 18, I would have preferred the small roads. But the stage proved no problem for the GC, the climb is pretty easy, only one GC contender managed to gain 20 seconds on the others, which finished in a large bunch.
Generally the tour isn't as tough as I thought, I don't think any rider ever missed the time limit, 192 made it to the finish line. Many climbs aren't that demanding, really just the two final climbs on stages 9 and 10. I did win with a pure Climber (84 CL, 65 TT) but second place went to a rider with 80 CL, 80 TT, who beat several better climbers thanks to the one long TT. So it's a well-rounded tour.

How could I have missed that this was finished ???
It would be great to add it as a new Tour in USA, not replacing anything.
But then I guess it will be hard to fit in the calender, and make it realistic.
Perhaps in the dying days of a season, ending 24nd October ?
That's starting about the week after the World Championship in Richmond this year.
That could almost work even in realistic terms, but kind of hard on the riders.
The big boys can then focus on a combo.
Giro-Vuelta, Giro-TDF, Giro-ToA
or any combo possible. Thrilling ....
Since Tour of Beijing got axed, this one could be a replacement.
Did I forget??
THANKS mate.

Thanks, guys.
Nice to get your feedback, Rip. The dirt roads, yeah. Kinda fell in love with the original race this stage is based on. Not too happy with the outcome, yap, the climb may be a bit too easy in the end.
Definitely designed a course with not too many brutal killers, so it's kinda cool to see that an allrounder can do well here. Also not a fan of too many DNFs, since i prefer a sprinter battling for the green jersey

I support that, the green jersey should go to a sprinter. I decided to mention that the tour isn't that tough because maybe others make the mistake I did and only judge the course based on the small profiles which look really climbing heavy, but it's actually not that bad, there are far more punishing Grand Tour variants around. I would have known that if I had read your stage presentations with more care.
Great work, tsmoha, I urge everybody to play this Tour of America, it's beautiful and really has its own flair.

Nope. Made for PCM14 and - afaik - stages can't be exported to PCM13 then.

Too bad! Because the stages from the screenshots look very well done especially the Beartooth Pass stage ITT. |
