Give them a break, it's the only 7 days they're given out of the old folks home each year.

Exciting sprint, looked as though it would never end!
Shame Haas went so early, gave Impey a pretty good lead out.
And Lobato came from nowhere! Great finish from him.

First and third for Team Movistar... What difficult is this on PCM?
Third for my Basque man Gorka Izaguirre

I really think the #1 ranked NRS team (or the team of the #1 ranked rider, which usually tends to be from the best ranked team) at the end of each season should get a place in the TDU alongside UniSA and now Drapac. It would provide invaluable experience for the selected riders and team + it would provide so any other benefits.
The only problem would be that they're not PCT, so I don't think it would be possible. But then again, the UCI kind of do their own thing so they might allow it.

Yeah, I agree with that, it would be a really good idea and I heard somewhere that Bretagne wasn't PCT when they got a TDF wildcard or something, it might not be quite true.

Yay for Lobato and Izagirre. I betted on Lobato, so even happier with that. Judging by the result, Gorka Izagirre seems to be in some fine form.

Unlucky for young Campbell Flakemore, he broke his collarbone on the descent to the team hotel today.

Lobato, what a speed, Great win. Impey with important bonus for GC. Gorka with 3rd surprised, could do well here. Stage 3 will be hella of a stage.

The UCI are the ones who make that rule so they won't break it. Only national teams (like Poland in Pologne) and PCT squads are allowed to get wildcards.
