Just updated the rankings after San Sebastian, Nelspruit and here. So here's a mini promotion/relegation update.
Promotion
CSC-Orbea and Bacardi have scored the most of any team from the first 3 races, while Venchi are 5th in the month so far - but did win the 2 classics! Quickstep as 3rd best in the month close the gap up front.
| | | Team | Total | RD | 1 | 1 | | Heineken-Cal Giant | 4028 | 134 | 2 | 2 | | Quickstep | 3920 | 134 | 3 | 3 | | Oz Cycling Project | 3284 | 117 | 4 | 5 | | Bacardi Limited | 3060 | 136 | 5 | 6 | | Team CSC - Orbea | 2932 | 129 | 6 | 4 | | Venchi - Ferranti | 2924 | 123 |
Relegation
Mobil are 4th best in August so far, and they almost escape the relegation zone.
| | | Team | Total | RD | 22 | 22 | | Team Kenya Airways | 1434 | 139 | 23 | 23 | | Metinvest-Emirates | 1362 | 121 | 24 | 24 | | Project: Africa | 1284 | 153 | 25 | 25 | | Team Hornbach | 1191 | 118 | 26 | 29 | | Mobil - Aeropostal Ciclismo | 1180 | 127 | 27 | 26 | | Allianz-BMW | 1122 | 118 | 28 | 27 | | Boeing-Bulgaria Bicycling | 1039 | 111 | 29 | 28 | | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | 971 | 119 |

And now for some pressure Congrats, Mre, though! Always nice to see a team grabbing it's first deserved GC-win. Abal delivered.
If Bobridge delivers in Britain, we are still in best position to hold on to a save promotion spot. Thanks for this quick update, SN!

Thanks for the quick update SN!
Looks like it's going to be a three-way fight (CSC, Bacardi, and Venchi) for the final two spots. Although I wouldn't count Oz as being home free just yet either.

@Mre: Of course you are right about Oz not being save. Pretty obvious that Bobridge will be the key now - Tour of Britain, Beijing and (iirc) Japan Cup is where he needs to avoid any stupid or unlucky drama. Not sure, where Goss will pop up, but Bobo is the man to keep us up there

Well 2 in the Top 11 is a decent finish, and 3rd in the Team Rankings is okay as well!
Thanks for the reports, and ranking updates guys!

So we move further away from the relegation battle, although we have more racedays used than most. Hopefully we can cling on. |

Congrats Mre and thanks for the reports tsmoha!
I'm surprised that we're still ahead in the rankings (if only by a small margin), but it's relieving to see. It's going to be a very interesting battle all the way till the end.
As i didn't have much time during the earlier parts of the season to follow all the races: did Van Stayen already ride a lot, or does he still have quite a few races left (like Ulissi).

This race started badly but ended in the best way, Davis can reach the 2nd win of the year. The objectives were met almost entirely, 1 stage victory, many top10 of stage and only the top10 GC was not achieved but with 3 riders in TOP30 I can not complain.
Congrats Mre and once more thanks tsmoha

Best Sprinting Results EVER for AMEX. After 2 seasons of errors, miscommunications, poor decisions and stage of stage of never even getting a sprint train set up, the boys finally get it together. Three stages three sprint trains and Grillo end up with 2 stages wins and a 2nd. Leadout man Jake Keough also get two top 5 finishes.
In a race where we easily could have been shutout AMEX racks up 0ver 100 points. All in All a productive 8 race days

I feel sorry! It's always a pity to see GC-riders dropping out that way. He had a pretty solid tour til that stage, it's a shame he got caught in that early split.

Not a particular impressive two mountain stages by Nerz, but to get white is important points-wise.
Giaux on the podium in the first flat stage proves me right to put him in there
This is definitely the kind of role I want Demare to play next season, so it's good to see the test run working decent here.
Ouch, the hilly stage hurt Nerz massively in the GC, but Delage finally shows what I have him in my team for and salvages a bit of that again. Good job to be on the podium out of such a large breakaway.
Another sprint, another Giaux! Putting in these results on his own in a HC race is very good points for his wage.
A nice TT by Bontenackels for some more ranking points and Nerz did well to gain a few GC places.
To end the great week in our neighbor country, another good sprint by Giaux and a gained spot by Nerz to make this an overall successful race. Winning white after having it for a whole week adds nice and imo often overlooked points, and Giaux really impressed me with his consistency to be around in the sprints against good competition.
