Nice find! When you edit the sprints could you please correct the finishing border objects (stands, booths...) for each stage? You just need to untick "merge" (merge finishline) under border parameters.
Now you´re puttingthe cart Before the horse. Graphics ad truly this stage editor is something I can´t handle.
Have been looking for some fine tutorial but the English pdf was deleted. My PC cant handle 3D moving so even if I culd master this program I would not be able to do the most basic. Lagging nad crashing is the norm.
When I get something better to play on I would ver much like to master stage editing, but for now xml handling is my part.
I need to know about DEM files Iso Buildings and how to get roads on those gpx files as much as posssible. |

Well I managed to move a sprint in a small race without any houses close by. Then I tried adding a sprint inside a small town. What happened was that the houses dissapeared, or to me more precise I couldn´t see any houses when I opened the stage in that area.
I do need to see a very basic tutorial on how to edit zcts files, and hopefully in english.
I got a better "rig" to play on but this editor is just to hard. Hardly master moving around on the map.
Any help would be very welcomed. |

Hmm, don't know about an english tutorial... I remember there existed a youtube video of the first steps to create a stage. Sadly it will be to time-consuming to write anything in-depth myself. But don't be shy to ask if there are any concrete questions.
About Tour of Alberta 2013: It turns out that the zcts.-file of the prologue is just the empty dem area. As there is a KOM sprint to add I'll redo the stage (most likely the upcoming weekend). It isn't possible to make a TT-like KOM-Zone, but it seems better to award points than not.
KOM Classification: Tour of Alberta 2013 (just one category)
Place | 1. | 2. | 3. | 4. | 5. | 6. | 7. | Points | 10 | 9 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 2 |

Tour of Alberta 2013 (2.1 America Tour)
Download: Tour of Alberta 2013
Note: Only stages 1, 3 and 5 by me (nothing fancy, nothing smoothed). The others were nicely made by armagetronmv (link)... I just corrected the sprints.

How about that. I will test it ASAP with the new XML....
and it worked very nice.
Try it out yourself and tell if anything might be strange....

Very nice stage race and thanks.

Tried them and were working very well except the KOM points for the prologue aren't awarded. Guess that's something not working in PCM generally as xml and stage settings are seemingly correct.
The less bonus seconds are making it a more exciting race and are raising the value of the prologue... nonetheless Peter Sagan won anyway.
Next stage to come (will still take a while)...

I do think that´s wrong.
I know I don´t see any handed out during the race, BUT when it´s all over you got KoM points to the cyclist leading.
I tested another similar ITT with a KoM sprints in the middle. Same result, so I don´t know why it doesn´t show up during the race, but then think about.
It can´t present the result until ALL is over since it´s a ITT, not the first guy crossing the line.
So maybe we shouldn´t get cross-eyed on Cyanide.
It does work, at least when I tried it.
As I have said before these smaller stage races, 4-7 stages gets more cool with correct bonus seconds (or some without any at all)
I hope you have a look at my thread about XML... I just added all the World Tour stage races and more will come very soon.
And yes, hey that Sagan won mine too ......

Ya, have seen you added more xml. Will use them when I start career play.
Hmm, you're right. I'm sure I have seen at least once these ITT-Kom-points not awarded.

Worse case is that of and on the basic calculation brakes down on intermediate sprints and KoM.
Not very big, so it´s hard to notice.
Keeping a vigilante eye on the sprints during the race and the popping up Provisional results in the upper right corner one see the calculations error.
Must be embarrassing for programmers in Cyanide not finding out this during testing. It's often enough and happens with standard and mine XML, so it´s basic bug.

Haven't kept an close eye on the provisional rankings, just fast forwarded as I want to know how the rankings look afterwards.
I just doublechecked and guess to know now when I faced the prologue ranking error:
It all seems to work fine when the prologue was played in 3d-race, but when simulating neither KOM- nor Sprint-points are awarded. Strange!

Guess that´s a "simulation" problem, and I have seen strange outcome the few time I took a race into simulation.
Of course this scares me on the idea on careers, that is a kind of simulation on the race you can´t follow.
That´s a sad thing, perhaps I am wrong, since you can´t see anything of races you are not in with your team.
Similar stuff like Football Manager you can view any game as long as you don´t have a game with your own team at the same time.
Running a lower team, not invited to TDF, you miss that race.Sad.
I take it you run a bit on FCD. Look at my new startlist on Coupe de France...
16 races to recreate this years and perhaps you might be tempted to create the ONLY missing race GP de Somme (which is in cdx mode sad enough)
Something for you to put on your to-do-lsit perhaps. (begging of course)

I tested this out with both my new xml and a standard cont_2HC from Cyanide.
Using a stage from emmeas Giro with similar KoM sprints.
The result was the same. So nothing wrong with your stage OR my XMLs.
Conclusion
On 3d race BOTH KoM and Points at the finish is OK
On simulation the KoM is GONE, but the Finish points are OK.
Disturbing
you can check my exported file from the test with my new XML
https://www.mediaf...esults.rar
No meaning to announce it at Cyanide website as a bug, they don´t care, but believe that all calculations are top in order... |

Yeah, it's kind of sad that the (edited) XML doesn't work perfectly in simulation, but they stay a nice improvement. These TTs including KOM-sprints are rare anyway.
Have actually not much time for stagemaking left... guess I'll take care of the stage (GP de la Somme) at some point, but very likely not in the near future.

This looks great and you got my comments in the 2013 stage forum.
Let me add this... A found a correct GP de Somme from 2012 I think. The cdx-file is now history.
Put your great skill on something more important than a new Somme (we don´t wont a 2nd battle on the Somme...)
What will be your next project mate ???
Dubai perhaps ??
Or perhaps Kreiz Breizh Elites or Fleche du Sud, a couple of short stage races that perhaps only exist as cdx.
Sadly the Arctic great race is outside the DEM files I guess. Pitty

@sutty: Thanks a lot!
@clamel: Nice find. Already made the gpx for GP de la Somme, but didn't start creating.
Next up is New Zealand Cycle Classic (2015), two fantasy races I'm working on and I wanna try to get Garmin Velothon (2014) and Canadian Road Race Championships 2014 running.
I gonna take a look for the races you've mentioned. If there are already gpx provided I might add them to the list... though (most likely) won't get any done in 2014.

Looking forward to New Zealand Cycling Classic. If you need some stage files, i do have some for that area, as i used to create this race the past years

Sounds great, thanks for the offer.
I already made gpx and started testing. Want to create one .zcts for the first four stages (Palmerston North to north-east), but if you have a file for the last stage I can re-use it would be great. It's the area from Palmerston North to the south-east (Pahiatua, Alfredton) I'm looking for.
