So i guess making him OGE rider, but "injured" (in-editor) until the October is the best option. But only if he doesn't develop in that time.

But you can't develop at all when injured, and Ewan should develop over the season (shame his starting stats are too high, but thats for the stat discussion thread)

No, he didn't.

Guys, I played with 472 team, but they are riding on Bianchi bikes, but since 2014 they're riding on Scott bikes, like Orica Green-Edge.
By the way. AWESOME JOB, BIG Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. We didn't really change much equipment-wise except for the most obvious things (e.g. Giant - Shimano changing to ... Giant ). Another thing for the V2.

Just looking through some comments guys nd about Nibali doing the giro how can i make him do the TDF and Vuelta?
DYN_cyclist -> fkIDtype_leader. You can see the various types in STA_type_leader (15 is Giro, 16 is Tour). |

I believe stages will only be compatible with on-going careers after the following year (as variants) = if you start a career now and then install the 2014 TdF stages (correctly named to be 2014), you'll still have one of the variants that the game has chosen for 2014 (since columns gene_sz_variant in STA_race/stage will have been filled with the suffix of the variant). It's quite easy to edit that, though.
How can I edit the db so that the 2014 Tour, Vuelta etc. start with a specific variant?
I tried to edit the columns you mention, but that doesn't work... |

Well, I was talking about how to edit it later, when the full races were done. If you want to add the 2014 Tour/Vuelta stages now (the ones that have been done, at least) the easiest is just to place them in the CM_stages folder correctly named (top_tdf_xx_2014 and top_vuelta_xx_2014) and then the game will choose the 2014 stages.

Exactly the information I needed. Thanx!
BTW, does that also work for the second year, i.e. rename them to top_tdf_xx_2015 and so on? Or is that chosen randomly? |

Yes. If you put the suffix (the part after 'top_tdf_xx_' ) as a year, then it guarantees that that route will be chosen in that year. If you put as anything else (for example, 'v1', or 'bigggassi' ) then they'll be picked randomly among all variants in all years that don't have a fixed-variant (for example, at the moment 2015 doesn't have a fixed variant, so a random one will be chosen; if you add stages with suffix '2015', then this will be the fixed variant of 2015). Sorry if it's not clear, but I hope you understand it

You mean the 2014 ones? If yes, then I don't think it should be done. The DB starts at January 1st, and at January 1st the champions were the 2013 ones At least that's how it's usually done.

I will if you link me to a page where these can be downloaded.
Then they'll be included in the V2

Okay, so reading through posts and catching up some. I don't play 13 (though I have the game, I liked how 12 played better and my save is there), but still have impact on the PCM.Daily expansion, so wanted to look through and see what needed fixing.
-1: Looks like my XML files could use some changes, I think both Oglalakev and Ruben (I assume based on the credits that is who made the adjustments). Are on the right track for getting the results we want. I personally think the new initial stats for young riders are too high (21 year old max was 74 in mine, 79 in the new) probably a balance between the two is right. Also because the CPU probably doesn't do a great job in training, it would be more helpful to have a larger number of higher potential riders, in which Oglalakey is correct in increasing the odds for each potential in the STA_region part of the CDB.
I'll work on getting an update out for the XMLs and will work on adjusting the STA_region as well.
-2: I haven't seen any comments about it so I assume it is holding up fine. The rider classification (STA_typerider) are changes I made in the 13 release, I'm assuming most riders still are listed in the correct specialization?
-3: Also I read somewhere (I honestly don't remember the where or when) that people didn't like the imbalance of scouting zones. Countries like France, Italy, Spain, Holland and Germany have 12+ zones, while other countries like Belgium, UK, Russia, and USA only have 1 (2 for Belgium).
I could make sweeping changes here, bringing the number of zones for countries more balanced. (Personally thinking about cutting down the zones in the first regions listed by half each). Adding a zone to Belgium, UK, Russia and USA. Would also take suggestions on other changes needed here and could also add in new zones easily.

To add on that, the limits for 6 & especially 5 potential guys, especially sprint, are too high.
I saw around 50 guys with 80SP or higher.

In reply to your points
-1: I've been fiddling with the XML's but so far for everything I fix I seem to make other stuff harder. I do have a technical question, is it possible to add another couple of levels to the minimax values?
I actually prefer your maximum values for young riders, I think the issue is that your minimum possible starting stats are too low, so that even an all-time great prospect could start with 64-65 as their highest stat. makes scouting nice and tough but also means they have to gain 10 points across the board and 15-20 points in their main stats to fulfill that potential. I'm not saying that shouldn't be possible but it should be less common.
-2: I've had zero issues with this
-3: I would like that to change |

Yup, it's far too generous right now, in the saved game I tested with (the one I mentioned earlier) when I looked at the pre-existing riders after creating the game, there were 126 riders with a potential sprint score of 80 or above, a scary number. By the start of the 5th season there were 57 riders with a sprint of 80 or above. |

I havn't started with the 2014 update yet, but i didn't have massive problems with the 2013 set up.
Ok yes it did take too long for "newgens" to become genuine contenders, but that is in part due to a currently super strong set of 22-25year old rider irl (Quintana, Sagan, Kittel etc.) and really talented guys (Yates's, Zabel, Mohoric, Boswell, Aru etc.).
One suggestion i'd make is to lower certain riders Age of Decline (i think it's fixed?) especially for the Quinatas and Sagans of the world. Lets be realistic, they won't be doing this well at Age 32-34. For the sake of balance take some of them down to 28-30.
Perhaps not the most realistic in some ways, but it would open up the gameplay a lot more to the "newgens" in a lot less time (5-7 seasons rather than 10-12)
In 2017 (of my 2013DB career) there are zero competitive new-gens and the oldest of them are now 27 (avg. age 23-24) and this is an issue, especially if you play as a WT team for that whole time (luckily i've worked up from CT so it hasn't affected me a lot)

I reached my 7th season after starting on the 3rd level as well. My issue was that not only were the younger riders left on the outside, but they also simply didn't have high enough stats to be competitive, too few "talents" were being produced in the youth files, which is why I adjusted the ratios. I was much happier with the youth group that emerged as a result. I even tried to do so fairly though Ireland got a tiny extra boost in mine due to my homeland bias
I had been wondering about the decline thing and the ages in that column are much the same this time. Is it possible to change the way the game decides age of decline for the young riders it generates, a lot seem to have 28-29 as the start of their decline
