Im only afraid from Arroyo, cause in the sprints I've got Dall' Antonia and Ciocan.
Yeah, there are some slightly better sprinters. It's the question what's better, quality or quantity. I have the ability to send sprinters to every race, and get two riders in the top 10 a lot, but winning races will be tough.
Just a hint for you, watch out with Dall' Antonia. A lot of hilly races are rated flat in pcm12, and much more sprinters survive than last year. I tested some races and Abakoumov did better in races I expected Duque to win.
@Manxmissile his salary is ownage Difference is that Arroyo can steal a lot of points from other teams, as there are a lot of climber teams in CT, and Thomas only has Steegmans with a much better HIL and another rider whose name I forgot to worry about. I'd like to call Arroyo the best ditch to other teams with climbers and Thomas the best transfer
@Froomedog it's highly unlikely that Arroyo won't be sent to races I have goals at, but who knows

David Arroyo, the CT transfer of the season?
For €600k thats a bold statement soon to decline, 34 race days
i prefer my own buy of Thomas (obviously) for less, and gained at least the same if not more
Good team
If he sends him to the Tour of America, He is literally screwed, cause thatll already take 21 days out of his racedays...
With such a small amount of Racedas in CT, thats gonna be a task for Arroyo!
(Not saying that its gonna be easier with Karpets for me...)

Hope at least
Anyway Ndbri and Martinez will both be there, so expect a battle |

Wtf are you doing with all those sprinters Vien, i thought this was a climbing team! .
With proper race selection Arroyo will score tons. As for sending him to you're goals, Tasol makes sense (2 race days, pretty much guaranteed victory), Clasico RCN he'd probably win too, but 8 racedays spent and a TTT means he could possibly fail.. then again probably not. Kwita Izina would be a waste, unless you had 3 spare racedays, because of the flat and hilly stages and who knows what could happen there. Tour of Algeria he'd win unless something odd happened, but you'd be wasting 4 racedays on flat races.
You can probably get the top 5 africa goal with a strong performance by Arroyo + Windhoek ITT (Flens) + some results from the sprinters, and cobblers.
Gotta say I fear the crap out of that sprint train, possibly the best in the CT with 5 riders of 76+ sprint.
It's certainly not a conventional team, but it's got some really nice strengths and can compete in Mountains, Cobbles and Sprints.

Haven't checked your goals, but if there is a mountain in them it would be crazy not to send Arroyo there. Why? Goals = Money, in theory your investment on Arroyo could really pay dividedens, even if you don't promote ;-) Like Reus last year for me, I didn't get alot of money on selling him, but he did make 3 goals for me...

Yup thats a way he can go for sure, as Arroyo could probably win 4/4 and get a long way to reaching the top 5 standings in africa goal. I just think it might be more fun to send him to some C1 races and crush some PCT teams . (Also, that means Rohregger avoids him, so I'd prefer to see him in the C1 races )

@Firefly: Before the season I chose these races because I expected the least competition, not knowing I could probably win any race I wanted (otherwise I would've picked Valle d'Aosta for sure, though I might send him there as well). Izana ain't bad either. Don't forget he'll have all jerseys if he wins stage 1, so he'll get about 10 points/day. Winning a one-day race which costs 2 race days is 45 points, a stage race is 60.
Just to give you a hint, my plans for now are 20 C2/10 C1/ 4HC or 26 C2/8 C1, mainly depending on if I get allowed to every C1 race.

Real-life news about the Dutch mountain
Today, a report was released about the reachability of building a mountain in the Netherlands.
This is the most important part of it:
Summary. With the current techniques, materials and knowledge it is not possible
to build a 2 kilometer high mountain. It seems that vast leaps in thinking
about structural design and material use have to be made: the mountain needs
to be as light as possible, as cheap as possible, as ‘clean’ as possible, and it needs
to be built in a relatively short time as well. This opens up grand new challenges
in material development, design and logistics.
An interview with Thijs Zonneveld on NL's most popular radio station will be broadcasted in about an hour. There's no news about what will happen to the project, so there's no news about what I'll do with the team either. If the project gets cancelled, I'll have to think about another sponsor for next season.

Don't forget to give Arroyo to one of the mountain focused teams (like mine )
Now seriously, it's a crazy project that I really hope that keeps going. I would be a pitty if gets cancelled.

The main reason why the mountain won't be built is the costs (duh?). Building a mountain on sea would cost around 4000 and 7000 billion euros. Apart from that, it would need so much material that there would be a lack of raw materials all over the world.
However, initiator Thijs Zonneveld won't give up. He still wants to build a mountain in the Netherlands...
...With a height of 300 metres. With the possibility to increase the height in the future if it's a success.
Die Heuvel Komt Er (that hill will come) with a puncheur as leader for 2014?

3 extra signings for Die Berg Komt Er
Die Berg Komt Er is proud to announce that they have signed three more riders near the transfer deadline. Two of them are stagaires.
First of all we have Carlos Alberto Ospina, loaned from AMEXpc. He was signed to shine in the hilly stages of the African stage races. We hope he can give us a few more points to get us our top 5 in the Africa Tour. The two stagaires are Regis Caminiti and Iranian champion Rudolf Zhilenko. The first was solely signed to be able to ride Avenir and get enough experience to reach another level, while Zhilenko has to fight to get any races this year. He made a great impression at the national championships though, so if he does well in the pre-season training camps, he'll get some races for sure.

I will have to see Arroyo in all my win goals.
Bye bye 2014 budget
@ Spilak23
No need of a crash, I will be happy with a -5 (along with Purito and Moreno and Sammy...)

Heya guys, my riders haven't raced a lot during the past two months, so I decided to make a news article about the Dutch mountain to show some well-needed activity. Planning on doing another article about how this news wil affect the team as well, I just wanted to keep RL separated because I found it more fun to read. Gotta click on the pics twice to make them readable

Guess not only your riders have been less active in the past months.. So you may have to stick to non-team-related news soon
