To completely blow that argument of Lance's out of the water, you just have to state one fact:

11 riders were offered immunity in exchange for deposition to bring down Bruyneel and the dope doctors.
Armstrong was one of them. HE REFUSED.
The other 10 accepted.

Well my question is if they find armstrong gulty for using dope. Who is getting the tour de france wins then ? Ulrich, zulle or maybe basso ? They all go caught with doping. What i mean is that armstrong maybe did use doping but he was still the best and if they need to get every doped cyclist in history would punish after their career. Then ... Cycling history would be totaly different.

Riis is currently listed by the ASO as 1996 winner, so that's probably what'll happen.

thats the point i tryed to make another doper gets the victory... and no doubt that armstrong was better then ulrich , basso and zulle

?

I'm not sure you understand. Riis won on the road that year before admitting to doping. He's still listed as the winner because there might not even have been a clean rider in the Tour that year.

Then again with Armstrong's acid personality and pleasure in antagonizing everyone might mean he gets his wins stripped from him just because he's hated.

Who cares, who gets the victory? That is totally irrelevant.
Every sport has its rules. Persons and teams doing this sport have to follow these rules. If somebody decides to break these rules, he/she has to bear the consequences if he gets caught. Since the consequences are also in the rule book, everybody knows what awaits him.

And to all these people who think that Armstrong has a backbone and/or a strong character. It is cheap to break the rules secretly. But it takes some balls to break the rules openly:

Who may get given the victory is a little irrelevant but the assumption that Armstrong was better than the others as they were all doped is an easy one to make, indeed I have made it in the past myself. However, it is probably wrong as PED's are more effective for some than others. The idea of widespread doping meaning a level playing field is a misconception imho. It makes it a bit difficult to say if a rider was a very good cyclist (whose biology reacted very well to a drug) or a trully great one.

Interesting read, cheers for that.

I can remember a big post from you in last month's news thread stating various facts you seem to have gathered about Armstrong, including positive doping testst. I'm currently often discussing the Armstrong case with people, and I'd like to ask you if you could please provide a similar source to back up what you posted about positive doping tests.

That, exactly.

The company Alpecin like to be 13-20 million euros in the German team.

They don´t want to go in mediocrity but at the top.

This newspaper contradicts itself. In the first Paragraph it says that the team already aquired a license, but in the second papragraph it says that there are no definete decisions made to field a professional cycling team.

So, what are supposed to believe now?
Is there gonna be a team?
Do they have a license or not?

At least the rumor surrounding the up to 20million€ budget seems to be true, as ive seen it on other news pages as well...

On top of that, I would be carefull if I were Jürgen Harguth... He states that he needs a big budget to avoid fielding a mediocre team. But look at RNT this season. They have a huge budget but have achieved very little. in my opinion they are below average in their achievements this year...

It's 50/50
I guess they would sign a lot of german riders, so haven't a star team like RSNT, but Germans.. Just look at Milram, mediocre. Woops, did I said that?

Good news for Samu btw Smile

Fractured hand for Samuel Sánchez but collarbone appears unbroken

Fractured hand for Samuel Sánchez but collarbone appears unbroken

If recovery goes well he has a small chance to defend his title. Although his form will not be good anyway.

End of season for Andy Schleck?...

But now, the "complete healing of the break could take several months." Schleck's plans for the second half of the season may thus be compromised, and the paper went so far as to saying, "a premature end of season is possible."

It was always optimistic to think he was going to be ready for the Vuelta with that injury. And he hasn't O'Grady with him anymore to go out all night and come back to the hotel late and drunk. He's better off resting.

So the Vuelta will just be a replay of the 2011 Giro then - Contador taking a billion stages and winning everything.

Which will conclude a perfect season for 2012 as "The year of boring GTs".
