Hi,
I've tried to change the variant for the Tour through this editor, since the software picked the 2012-variant again in 2014, while I have several other variants in the correct folder. (I want to play other variants before returning to variants I played before)
I've changed both "gene_sz_currentvariant" in Races and "gene_sz_variant" in Stages from "2012" to "v5", but only the first stage is changed in-game.
Could you help me?

This thread is about my editor and not variants or how to edit something.
There are instructions in the stage sub-forum how to play certain stages, that might help you. If not, I recommend that you create another thread describing your problem in detail. |

Yes, I know. Read again: I USED YOUR EDITOR, otherwise I wouldn't be here...
To clarify: I started season 2014 and I want to change the variants which the program choose for me. So i opened YOUR EDITOR to try to change it by changing the values in "gene_sz_currentvariant" and "gene_sz_variant" in YOUR EDITOR, but this only works partially (for single races or only the 1st stage of a tour). I want to know how to do this in YOUR EDITOR for an entire tour.
But apparently you don't know which colums I should change, so I will just try some things untill it works.

Never mind. I found out what I did wrong and it works now.
So it is possible to change the selected variants with your editor in season. You can add that to one of the features  |

That's a "feature" of DB-editing. Anything that can be done through editing a DB can be done in this Editor, so they aren't really features from the Editor.

Consider asking your question in another thread or start your own. But I recommend that you explain what you want to achieve. It is easier to help. |

Hi!
I saved a replay on etoile de besseges stage 5, but when Ive watched it, the game loaded up the podiums, and overwrote the replay with tour of qatar stage 1. Is that possible to edit that replays cdb file to get back my besseges replay pls? |

I fear you are in the wrong thread too. I have never tried to open a replay using my editor. And if you could open it, I would not know what to edit where.
Consider asking that question in the technical forum because it sounds like a bug to me.
But I doubt that you can get back the original file if it has been overwritten. I believe you best bet would be a file recovery tool (use google to find a free tool or a trial version) |

I'm opening the zip file with jZip, and getting the folder "LanchisEditor" in the folder My Docs/PCM 2012/users/username/database/solo/PCM Daily Expansion pack patch 1300, where my most recent cdb/cbi files are. I have downloaded the microsoft NET 3.5 files.
But still when I try to open the editor, I get

Any help you could offer? I believe I have followed all the advice you have given elsewhere in this thread...
(I get a very similar message on your season planner)

I have no clue why you put a N into the name of my editor but I doubt that the N is causing the problem.
Also you do not have to put it into the folder where your saves are, but also this should not matter.
But after downloading the .NET files, you have to install them. Did you do that already? |

The error box does not permit copy and paste, so the stray N was a typo.
Double clicking on the download of the .NET files informs me that it is being expanded to a folder in c:\ with a long series of numbers and letters. There is no file or directory of exactly that name, but a similarly named folder does contain a setup executable that turns out to be for microsoft.NET 4 Framework. The computer will not allow me to run that, informing me that "Same or higher version of .NET Framework 4 Client Profile has already been installed on this computer."
So do I have to downgrade from NET 4 to .NET 3.5? If so, can you advise on how to do such a thing? |

It is neither needed nor possible to downgrade from .NET 4 to .NET 3.5. But the error text indicates that a .NET file is missing or cannot be found. I cannot help you there, maybe google can help if you search for "Could not load file or assembly 'System.Xml, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
BTW: After an error had occurred, there should be an error file which contains the error message. You can copy the error message from there to prevent typing errors.
@Alphabet:
You can add cyclists in all the editors which are around. All the editors except the one which comes with the game are tools to change EVERY value in the database or a career. |
