No. Normal. I don't play on hard because what is the point of riders have stats and developing at different rates if they just get stat boosts once you play on hard. |

Well it's the way to avoid the game being too easy, which could get boring for most people. As much as people might hate seeing a guy worse than yours beat yours because you're playing on Extreme and therefore the guy is actually better than yours, they wouldn't be much happy either if they could win pretty much every race they entered. The AI will always have the disadvantage of being only an AI while we're humans, so giving the AI riders a stat boost is a way to level this difference.

So 1st, 2nd and 3rd in a stage in the Giro with three pretty good climbers means I should up my difficulty? No, I'm fine thanks.. |

I guess it depends how you play. If someone uses the dot to save energy and then raises the difficulty because he is winning too much .... |

Tbh I never played on normal or hard. Extreme is the way to go Normal is way too easy, but for some people it's not, so it kinda depends. Harder level means more passion, excitement and when you win a stage... you go ballistic

I didn't say that. But since you mentioned it, I would up the difficulty. It's not everyday that you see 3 riders from the same team podium a GT stage (no TTT jokes please ). But it's only what I would do, obviously we don't need to do the same things

Re: difficulty, obviously whatever floats your boat and gives you the most enjoyment. Having only recently got 2011, after last playing on 2008 some time ago, I'm enjoying making the step up to hard difficulty - it really feels rewarding when you get a win.
Having said that I can understand someone else enjoying steamrolling all before them on easy, each to their own
Latest for me was a struggle from start to finish in Paris-Nice with a weak team scrapping around for stage wins with no joy. With a couple of stages left in Tirreno Uran looks capable of a top 10 or maybe even top 5 overall but it's mostly preparation for the incoming classics season. |

I'm not steamrolling the opposition! I'm winning events and stages only with Vino and Bennati. That's not a crime seeing as they are some of the best in their respective fields. |

Sorry, to be clear, I wasn't referring to you personally at all - mine was merely a statement of different people enjoy a different difficulty setting often for very different reasons. Whatever setting you 're using is clearly working for you so all good |

I just won my selfmade classic around Galmaarden wit Morkov
The end was twice a lap with Muur and Bosberg in it and then a last climb of the Congoberg
Early break went clear with Selig, Morkov, Bodnar and someone elso who've i forgot his name
Morkov upped the pace at first time Muur and he got away easily cruising home for 40 kms
Kroon attacked on the Congoberg and secured 2nd
Iglisnkiy won the sprint for 3rd
Tosatto got 7th and Vinther 10th.
I must admit it was a real weak starting field Hondo was top-favourite
But i play on hard and Morkov has 70Cob so i'm quite satisfied

Basso looks like he's going to win his second Giro title in two years. He's 1'40" ahead after the 9th stage after he attacked late in Stage 8. The rest of the top ten looks like this:
Basso 38h36'34"
Porte + 1'40"
Pinotti + 2'06"
Vande Velde + 2'09"
Vinokourov + 2'13"
Bruseghin + 2'22"
Vanendert + 2'29"
Fuglsang + 2'33"
Ten Dam + 3'05"
De Gendt + 3'10"
Major favourite Vincenzo Nibali suffered from a fall in the peleton which took out a lot of the riders in the first stage, he is 11'34" behind in 24th place. |

I have won the Giro with Cunego, he also donw well at Pais Vasco finishing 3rd and top 5 in all 3 Ardennes classics, about to start Dauphine with either Mollema (crashed and retired in the Giro) or Cunego.

So the giro went okay. Had three riders in the top 16 at the end of the 21 stages. Fuglsang made up over 3 minutes in the last time trial to take 6th place. Vinokourov and Vanendert had poor latter halves and came 16th and 17th respectively. Pretty good Giro for us. Has put Fuglsang firmly in the top 30 now in the super prestige!
How is everybody else doing!? |

Tirreno-Adriatico now finished and preparation complete for Milan-San Remo.
In the end Uran grabbed a top 10 overall and a podium on one stage but just missed out on the under 25 jersey by a few seconds.
I rested Boasson Hagen in the penultimate stage, trying to boost his recovery as much as possible for the final time trail - it nearly paid off, he held the lead for a long time but just got pipped by Gerdemann to the tune of 1 second.
As an aside I sent Henao in a few breaks (he won the TDU by holding on to a breakaway advantage throughout) and he took the mountain jersey along the way. His mountain stat has already gone up 1 to 75 and looking good as a future grand tour leader even if his TT will never be great. |

So on to the first big sponsor goal of the seaon - a win at Milan-San Remo.
Unfortunately it went a bit pear shaped in the wet with crashes for Flecha and Uran complicating things. As i was repositioning, Cancellera slipped off the front on the Cipressa (as in just rode away so no commentry alert and I missed it for a few seconds) and I didn't have enough men left to chase him, and a strong late break including Chavanel and Hushovd, down.
Boasson Hagen was well protected and belatedly attacked over the top of the Poggio from the chase group to take 5th but it was a case of what might have been had I gone earlier with him, reached the lead group and then sat in for the sprint. |

Nightmare. You probably already know this but if nothing else you can reinstate from a weekly save backup that the game makes.
Check My documents - PCM 2011 - Users - Database - Weekly Save
then copy the file across to the Solo folder in the same folder as the weekly save (see above) being sure to paste it in the database you were playing in that career.
Also thanks for reminding me to take a manual backup again! |

The game not only makes weekly backups, it also has an immediate backup, called xxx.cdb~ (xxx being the name of your career). To make it loadable in the game, just remove the ~. |
