I believe that he does use it (or he did use it), and that the oil and the bearing give an advantage, but far, very far from those 2,5 seconds per km.

Well, would be quite strange if it indeed is that, that only Saxobank has access/knowledge of this 'oil' wouldn't it? Or maybe it's a potion and only them have the 'magic formula'? Pfft

The mechanical output is less than 5% of the resistance a rider has to overcome (Without the roll resistance. I dobt you can reduce it by using oilPfft) and therefore stuff like ceramic bearings have nearly no effect on the speed. Why should some oil change that?

Specialized has, assisted by the McLaren, the Formula 1 team, built a new bike, they have used several years on the project. They confirmed and released it yesterday, there will be more information about the frame and design on Friday. It will be used by HTC-Highroad on Saturday.

I think the bike looks awesome, it looks fast Pfft

McLaren? I hope the bike is better than their car, or we'll see the likes of Cav fighting with Mondory for a 7th/8th place. Pfft

This year's McLaren is going to have to improve a truckload before the end of the season to manage an 8th place.

Just fix or master that too complex front wing, and understand the new fancy exhaust, then they'll be where we can expect them to be.

Ehhh, no.

First of all, manage 10 consecutive laps without something on the car blowing up. They've gone through all of winter testing and they still haven't managed that.

Then, manage a race distance without the car blowing up.

Then, start working on the car's enormous lack of downforce.

It'll be August before they start contending for race wins.

Just to put the Michael Rasmussen-fanboyism into perspective, one of Denmark's national (public service) broadcasters actually went to Croatia to follow Christina Watches - Onfone's first race, Istrian Spring Trophy (UCI category 2.2).

I don't think that they have ever before cared about a .2 race.

Anyway, speaking of the team, Claus Michael Møller (that Danish dude who spent his entire career in Portugal) has been signed as a DS.

I wouldn't say "always". He participated in the Vuelta four times and got some pretty good results from time to time. I'm pretty sure he only one won stage, though Wink

I'd like to see the frame spontaneously combust like other McLaren vehicles...

Rasmussen clearly carries a lot of public relations value in Denmark. That might explain why they have more than 20 different sponsors. I'm slightly worried that they're spreading too thin - not giving each sponsor enough exposure etc.

I was surprised that they (Danish TV) even bothered with this race - but hey, I don't mind. It's nice to hear about the continental teams once in a while.

Dutch mountain biker Rudi van Houts has been cleared of charges after having been tested positive for clenbuterol.

The case is very similar to Alessandro Colo's - both were tested positive after having been to Mexico.

Some media see this as a "backing" to Contador's case, but the geography means a lot, in my opinion.

That said, it does seem to be a loophole in the law. If you go to a country with lots of clenbuterol in the meat, you can pretty much use as much as you like. If you're tested, all you have to say is "I've been to Mexico" or "I've been to China".

Clenbuterol has several long term gains, so I guess we'll be seeing lots of cyclists in those two countries from now on.
