Tour of Oman Stage 6 [Final]
My Plan:I think it would be nice to get in the break. Who knows maybe I can be a part of a successful BOTD and gain 7 minutes on the peloton.
The stage was not very interesting and we chased down all threatning moves, so that it would result in a sprint for the line. As we went across the 3km mark, I began to feel overjoyed for Kern, the winner of the Tour of Oman 2011.
A very surprising result though, Swift doesnt win the sprint, instead Gnezda of Adria Mobil does.

Congrats on the overall. Another good idea idea for smaller stage races would be to have David go KOM. That would be a fantastic achievment. However, I'm also hoping a stage win happens soon |

Thanks fo the feedback! Who knows maybe he will go for the KoM, but the Tour of Oman was not the race to do so. I will probably play the next stage this weekedend.

Its quite amazing you found my email, but I enjoy writing to my fans. I agree it would be great to lead a few races soon, but my next race is Omloop Het Nieuwsblad so I wont be leading there. At the East Midlands Classic I could be leader, but it all depends on my form and results before-hand.
Sorry I cant give you my autograph. Just come down to one of my races!
David

In the latest race for Europcar we managed to win. At the Tour du Haut Var Thomas Voeckler won the final stage and te GC. It is a great result for the team and helps the financial insecurity, that the team might face later on.

I saw him race the Tour of Pennsylvania. I was able to catch three of the stages since the tour ended in my home city, Pittsburgh. Classy rider. Peter Stetina and Danny Holloway also participated. David had a great ride in that tour. |

Preparing for a challenge
This is my first time riding, Omloop, and I want it to be special. I know I'm not that great at cobbles, but thats why I'm here, the team has brought somewhat of a development squad to the race, and I personally want to get better at cobbles as I see it as my weakness. My two friends Michael Barry and Dom (Rollin) are also riding, but I certainly hope they both beat me. The strongest team going into the race has to be Garmin, with Thor and Farrar, but Gilbert and Flecha will have something to say.
Also thanks Michael for the tips yesterday.
Spoiler In real life Rollin finished 16th, Barry finished 60th and Veilleux DNFed.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
My Plan: I want to be able to ride well at cobbles one day, so for today my plan is to ride strong and attack on a cobbles section to see what its like. I think getting in the break is also a realistic option for me.
The first move of the day was done by myself. I attacked because I felt I would have the best chance to test myself on the cobbles.
Of course this move was never going to stick so by the time we were caught, we were dead tired, and soon fell behind the peloton.
With 6km to go, Tom Boonen attacked with Flecha and Hushovd countering. Surprisingly enough was that QuickStep chased them all down. I guess they didn't think Tom would win it in a group of those 3.
Now a large group finishes close together and Farrar takes the win, showing he can win cobbled classics.
I finished inside the 2nd autobus on the road and could say I had accomplished my own goals.

Classic Loire Atlantique
My Plan: I think that with a race like this, everyone is going to suffer at some point, so I want to be there for Rolland when he needs me the most. No breaks!
Todays break only a few hundred metres behind the tail of the peloton thanks to the short circuit we rode today. Luckily they never caught the end of the group or else it would have been game over.
Eventually the lead was brought back thanks in large to Lampre, but we weren't sure why at first as they didn't have any hilly riders. We noticed Hondo and Bole not taking part in the chase, but we never thought they'd make it over the hills. Hondo takes the win, Rolland does a top 10 and I had 3rd place but then I fell back as we neared the finish.
