Dominant Giro by Roberto. Getting all jerseys and winning almost every mountain stage.
The 20th stage was indeed a great attack and solo win.
With Mollema losing form in the end it became less exciting but it was a great fight in the first 2 weeks in especially and then a nice bonus. |

Really a legendary ride on stage 20. That's not how you win a GT - that how your conquer Italy!

Roberto is no way close to Merckx being the best cyclist ever. He is one of the best stage racers, and probably the best climber, ever though.
Great win in Italy, next up is Vuelta and then "én route for the Tour?"
Vincenzo Nibali - Rui Costa - Nairo Quintana - Alberto Contador - Peter Sagan

Jakstar22: Thanks Maybe I should make a poll
ste_18: Thanks man
roturn: Thanks a lot. I felt the third week the balance tipped, so that's why I finished it so quickly, the tension was over, it was time to move on Mollema put up a lot of resistance, more than I expected, in that Giro! His "bad" recup did the trick.
Daggen: I know
Atlantius: Thanks! He couldn't leave Italy without showing them what he was made of!
Stromein: Thanks! Let's hope he can take 3/3 in the Vuelta!
sutty68: Thanks, I like that picture myself great to see some of the pics don't go unnoticed
rogvi97: I hope he can keep that 100% clean record for a long time
fcancellara: Well, what can I say, you've been looking at the old results on your cyborg-computer in 2030, haven't you?
Wild Dog: Agreed. Merckx is too good at everything. Though that's impossible in 21th century, I think Roberto is well on his way to become a legend himself, in his own way. Climbing is definitely his strongest. (he has more success in GT than in classics)
I think 2015 may be Roberto's first Tour, but I'll have to see that when I make the schedule.
maxime86: Thanks
kqyt: Just a great place, isn't it?
Thanks for the many, many comments! Much appreciated and keeps me rightly motivated to continue this story all the way to his retirement, and he didn't retire at 25
Spoiler but he did retire earlier than Voigt |

I reckon Roberto will be the best stage racer ever and climber ever. He's too good. Merckx is the best cyclist ever (obviously) but Roberto is insane!
Here are five bananas!

National Championship 2014
Life is making choices, no one knew this better than Roberto. We'll let him talk about the NC himself:
I'm peaking for many races this season, the National Championship is unfortunately not one of them. Quintana rode excellently and won deservedly. Since I won't be wearing the national jersey, I'll just have to make sure I can keep my current, Rainbow, jersey! A big congrats to Rui (Costa), though, who just crowned himself Portuguese champion for the second time in a row!
