Fun to be the most successful team in term of stage wins this Giro. Eddy did an amazing job, König tried a few times, but wasn't strong enough.
Shame the points jersey still favoured climbers, but a 15th place in the GC makes up for that. Very impressive stuff by Hagen in the GT we were most unsure about. It could actually become our best GT if Spilak doesn't deliver in France and Spain.

I think that every other WT race we participate in will end like that. I think I'll release a "special press statement" saying that CCC team is not ready for the WT, and will stay in CT forever
At least somehow Fjords and Moscow were good for us. |

Glad this Giro is over. 82 points total, we were pathetic.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

This ends a disappointing Giro for us. 3 stage wins in the end is still somewhat okay but with the startlist, the strong leadout I've brought and the way the breaks couldnt be controlled this is a big disappointment.
Congrats to the winners of the race which imo are:
Aru for winning the home GT with a home rider which must have been the single most important ICL goal for Krisa
Grupo Argos. Despite winning the race they go out of this race with a shitload of points including 3 guys in the final top ten.
Verona for finding a way to use EPO in ICL
EBH for a ridiculous great race by one of the most interesting riders in the peloton
Consolidations to the teams that disappointed uncluding CCC and Alitalia.
This race should be great for all those that feared a domination by my team in the rankings. With Allianz und Grupo Argos two of my biggest rivals scored a big number of points while my team underperformed. I've been the favourite at the start of the season but i reckon this will now turn into a very close fight that might only be decided in the final few races.
Good moscow for our youngsters. I like that race
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Congratulations Aru and krisa! What a home GT, the countless sponsors must all be thrilled. A great day for Parmesan cheese!

I love the growing scepticism about your WT rankings in your comments, starting when Liberty Seguros did so well in the early races.
Would be funny if again someone denies you the win after two 2nd and two 3rd places. You are not going to like the next rankings update.
Fun fact about the GTs, due to the podium places from Aru and Pinot, there are only two of the still existant starter ICL teams left that have never achieved a podium in a GT: CarbonSports and Cymru Wales.
Five teams have selected the Giro as goal races, if you are interested here is the impact of the race on next seasons budget for them:
Vegeta: | +20 | Ceramica Panaria: | +304 | Grupo Argos: | +314 | Suntory: | +156 | Santos: | -32 |
Great yield for Argos and Ceramica Panaria. Suntorys result is still decent. Vegeta had a good race for a CT team but it shows that taking a WT race as goal for CT teams is a high risk. |

Regarding extra budget for next season given the results on focus races, unless i have made a mistake, or something has changed in the formulas, i should be getting a +138 from LBL and + 9 from Colombian TTT.
Only one goal race left in Tour de Pologne, where Moser and the rest of the team (as i even send my sprinters there) should be able to get the max bonus (125 points in a CT.1 race). If everything goes right, i should end up with a +272 in next season's budget

Hehe
I was not worried at all by Liberty Seguros early season, they are unfortunately no title contender this season. If at all i was slightly annoyed that Betancur performed much better than he did last season although i knew when making that mega deal that Shonak got the better side of the deal but i wanted to have this change of orientation after nearly no big changes in the history of CSC.
The growing scepticism ... well yeah. As most MG managers can guess I'm a fan of looking into probabilities. I agree with most others that i had to be considered the favourite for the rankings but many acted like it was a foregone conclusion that i would win all rankings which i strongly disagree with. I'd say my chances to win the WT rankings were probably somewhere like 50-60% percent. I saw four other teams that had the chance to compete for the title in Grupo Argos, Bunzl, Allianz and Italo. Each of these teams would need an excellent season or bad season from my team to beat me but with four teams the chances that one comes through arent that small.
And Allianz and Grupo Argos both had a great start to the season and one crash by Contador in a GT and i might be out of the title fight and the way they are performing i need to have improvements from my team to stand a chance.
Wouldnt call it funny though if i couldnt win the WT rankings again. (At least i already won the ranking that used to be the far more important ranking before)
I like the fun fact
Spoiler any chance you can post the goal race impacts fromother races too? Would live to know what i get from Palm Classic

Woah. Looks like I missed almost half the season by going inactive for a month.
Pleasantly surprised by some of these results I've skimmed through. Mollema winning a stage race is always a nice way to get our year started and Slagter, Dumoulin and Oss appear to be doing their job quite nicely too.
Giant Asia have been ok for a team without a lot of firepower. Shafeeq providing half of the points was expected but Quinones and Bekker need to keep helping him out if we want to be in the top 10 by the end of the season.
(PS: many thanks to bikex for the reminder to check-in)

I shouldn't have posted the Goal Race bonusses, now everyone is asking me for them.
They are not all calculated yet, but if it is generally wanted I can make a post with them in a few days, so you can see how you did there.
@knockout: I think if Contador does how it can be expected you will win the rankings comfortably. But yes, if you wouldn't that would be kind of funny, at least for me.
@OZrocker: Great that you have returned from your hiatus!
I have now posted the last race of May, Race Horizon Park. Check the results here: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1282529

I fear Moscow has to be redone, my team did not have the correct riders there. Tsatevitch should have been there, now the Horizon Park lineup was at Moscow.

The Giro was okay. We could not achieve the dominance which we intended to achieve buy going full out in the race with our team. It won't be enough to Trouble CarbonsSports, and with Allianz continuing their incredible run second is almost gone already too. Third place seems to be well in sight though, and a podium in the Final Rankings would be stellar.
Quintana with one hell of a ride, shame that he couldn't upset Aru at the very last. Uran with a nice Giro, while we could've hoped for more with Polanc. But indeed a decent supporting cast.
The story of the race though is Verona. I'd love to see Sevilla continuing to perform, they'd be a Cinderella story if they'd avoid relegation at the end.
A nice ending for CarbonSports at the Giro at least.

I lost budget? Didn't know you could do that The Giro sucked massively, it'll take lots of miracles to save us now.

Well spotted, seems like a rerun is indeed needed. Sorry for everyone that did well. The rankings update will also have to wait until this issue is solved. |

Thanks for the great coverage of Il Giro. Lots of fun to follow. Congratulations to krisa, what an amazing Giro has had. Also congratz to jaxika and ofc croatia, even though his expectations seems to have been sky high
I am not happy that Fernandez got 12th in the end after being in the Top 10 for practically the whole race. Out of the fight between 7 and 11, he finishes 12th. Talk about a letdown tbh. Still this is oddly our best Giro result since Contador's 4th place in 2016 since 2017 was just the worst. I think, next year's edition needs a stronger Liberty Seguros attendance again. Just by looking at our stage results, we didn't play any role besides Navarro's many attempts. But I am happy that we tried.
I am not sure why anyone should feel sorry for Alitalia @knockout. Matt brought the worst team imagineable to this race, it was a choice he made for his home GT Where is matt anyway? He was a sorta a regular commentator in previous seasons.

Had some health stuff (not too dangerous, just he had to do) and is just away for a bit afaik. Still alive I know
Sure he'll catch up on this at some point when he comes back to daily in general
