i agree that it's a shame that Valverde got knocked out like this instead of a real fight in the alps. Think he would have made the jump with contador and co in the end otherwise
Well, Dutchies are very weird people. They didnt give a f*ck when Mollema wore the leader jersey in the Vuelta. About 80% of the Tour watchers never watches any other race, apart from perhaps the Gold Race and World Champs.
the dutch television only airs the Tour live, in the weekends the Vuelta and the Giro never. enough said

Yup, they dont air the rest because 80% of the Tour followers doesnt give a sh*t. Now there is a big fuss. Has anyone who isnt Dutch ever heard of Tour du Jour. We have that show at commercial tv. 2 of the 3 hosts are Wilfred Genee and Johan Derksen. They know absolutely NOTHING about cycling.

At Dutch television, Belkins DS Nico Verhoeven told that his team and OPQS had arranged before the stage to try to cause echelons.
After that Ten Dam told that he was told by Bennati that Saxo was going to cause another one in the final part of the stage, so he and Mollema stayed close to Contador after it.
And Bram Tankink told that he was asked by Froome with 20km to go, why he and the other Belkins didn't work in the 2nd echelon anymore, after the Saxo/OPQS one was formed. When Froome was told that Mollema and Ten Dam were in the 1st one, he reacted something like "Fock.........."
Even if you hate Belkin, you can't deny that they had a strong tactical ride yesterday!
Suggestions of a Saxo and Belkin alliance?

Eurocar must be one of the bigest hypocrites in the Peloton. They were saying they were pulling of the front group beacuse the were afraid of been droped if they didnt pull Rolland is often ivolved in coward actions attacking GC riders like last Year after Evans and Wiggins punture and then have a lame excuse. I am so happy Karma hit them Yesterday back and Rolland had a punture. |

How do you avoid being caught in echelons ? Ride at the front.
Rolland didn't have the info about the tacks he said, and stopped his effort afterwards. |

Quintana wasnt pulling from the group for obvious reasons and still wasnt droped from the front group. So obvious u u dont have to pull from a group to avoid getting droped. Rolland seems to never knows what is happening in the Peloton and attack GC riders by mistake.

If you're intertested like me, a little more insight into the Belkin, OPQS collaboration for this phenonmenal stage curtesy of Inrng https://inrng.com/2013/07/rest-day-not...otes-tour/ under the "Chance Meeting?" paragraph and you can hear Brian Holm explaining a little more on the dealing and tactics from 12:12 onwards on this podcast too https://www.humansinvent.com/#!/12847/...pisode-16/ |
