Fantastic stage from Kristjan! What a great solo ride. Wiles really did a good job also, getting back with the favorites after the descent

@sutty - We hope to make one step above at the end.
@Miguel -
@Froomedog - Thanks.
@ste_18 - Thanks, I hope so too...
@andy222c - I was really happy when Wiles came back. It was such a great moment...
@Ian Butler - Unfortunately, no. Sky beats us with 5'47. |

Wiles safe and a stage win won. I think you will win this Giro, especially with the final time trial to come and Scarponi weaker than Kristjan in the time trials. |

@the_hoyle - I hope so...
@francopell - I really want to believe in it, but those 2 mountain stages before the TT....
The profile of the stage is all the way flat or downhill, it shouldn't cause problems to anybody. Last opportunity for sprinters, let's see if they'll grab it!
Today's BotD was a quite big one, but the only big name in it was Marco Pinotti. Because of the fact that this is the last flat stage, Astana decided to chase down the break, and they were successful in it.
At 5kms Androni made their train, and it was a quite good one, dominating the field. Astana looked to fail badly, as their train was riding almost in the middle of the pack.
Arriving to the final kilometer, it was Androni in the lead, Ferrari in perfect position, with Hutarovich on his wheel. It was a really close one with Huta overtaking Ferrari, but at the end it was...
... Ferrari winning his 2nd stage in this years Giro! What a great win by him, edging out Hutarovich and Chicchi on the line! Great win, it was a really impressive sprinting performance!

Come on, you can do it! You have two riders capable of winning the Giro after all! The next mountain stages will be very close, I agree, but doesn't Kristjan have the highest REC of the favourites? |

@francopell - Yes his is the highest, but I'm a bit nervous anyways.
@Ian Butler - Yes, trying to do it speedy, as I only have my schoolbreak until Sunday.
Note: Sorry for the lack of screenshots, strangely they didn't save properly.
The Alpe di Pampeago.... Twice... Toughness all the way!
The breakaway was a pretty big one today, as like always in this years Giro, but there were no real big names, everybody was a bit wise before today's big mountains. The peloton was paced by Lampre, they're really pushing hard today, keeping the break close.
There were no real casultaties of the high pace on the first climbs, only Basso, who lost today another 16 minutes. It all came down to the final climb, where a 20-men elite group started the climb together.
As soon as the climb started the group splitted apart, and only a few riders remained in the first group. Scarponi, Urán, Wiles and Puskaric were the front group, then came the Nibali group with Antón and Van Garderen. The SpiderTech duo paced their group, and as the final kilometer closed, Urán started to crack. In the final kilometer the sprint started, and Puskaric managed to get rid of the other two, and crossed the line first! To make things even better for SpiderTech even Wiles overtook Scarponi, and Puskaric gained another 14' ! boni seconds on Scarponi! It's getting closer and closer!

I was gone for the whole day, I just came back and the first thing I did was read the reports
I'm very happy with Puskaric winning Stage 17 & 19
Don't lose time on the Stelvio and win the Giro in the time trial to Milan! (Last summer I've been on the square where it finished, in front of the Duomo )

@francopell - Agree with everything, you said!
@Ian Butler - Just 8!
@fcancellara - Really happy that! Hope I'll keep you entertained, Puskaric gets what he deserves! (Just imagine that the crash won't have happened)
The grand finale, on the glorious Stelvio! Mortirolo? Warmup. Stelvio? Meh.
The daily BotD was formed early of the day, and the pack decided to take it slowly, and they got a huge more than 20 minutes lead. The pack was taking it slowly throughout the whole Mortirolo, everybody was waiting for the Stelvio, which brought some really exciting with itself.
Right as the Stelvio started, we decided to go long. Puskaric attacked, and never looked back. Wiles stayed with Scarponi, who decided to let Cunego inrcease the pace. Puskaric was looking strong, but the 20kms on the Stelvio were going to be brutal!
Meanwhile, upfront in the break Talansky broke away, and won the stage before of Caruso! Great ride by him, a well deserwed win. Let's get back to the favourites, there is plenty of action going on there.
Scarponi decided to do the chase alone, and broke away, nobody could follow him. Wiles tried to go after him, but he was just unstopable. Puskaric's lead decreased quickly, but he still had 30 second at the last km sign. Can he hold onto it?
Yes, he can! He finishes ahead of Scarponi with 13 seconds, and secures the Maglia Rosso, as well as taking on the Rosa!
Wiles comes 15 seconds behind Scarponi, but put some time into Urán and Antón before the TT.
