That was an awesome job the last days, reporting so many stages Smile A great Tour de France and well, pity, Farrar wasn´t able to win the green jersey but with Haussler won a German and a Garmin rider 2012 Wink Tom Boonen is second ..that´s also great as he is one of my favourite riders.

janne_837
No points jersey for Farrar, but amazing 5 stage wins Smile Congrats!

Yes , you´re right but as a German I still think he is one Grin But it´s good that he´s an Australian! I would do the same if I could decide between Germany and Down Under.
I´ve played PCM 2006 yesterday, because of this I wrote he´s a German

Thanks. I had too much time this weekend Wink And I was also excited if I can get the jersey and a top 10. Unfortunately both didn`T work but I am quite happy with my results. Way better than in 2010 without stagewin and just 18th or 19th in the overall.

Next year we will probably take part with 2 sprinters, one for the sprint train. Hunter/Farrar or Hunter/Haussler could be a good option.
Also we will have a stronger team with our young riders improving more. Especially Lowe, Peterson and Stetina have still talent.

Next race will be San Sebastian with an excellent squad, hope to get a good result with Hesjedal. Then Pologne with Martin as leader.
But no more posts today as I have university until 8 and then football for 2 more hours Grin

Great report of TdF, you have done very well. Can't wait for next races already Grin

Superb stuff rotorn, been following this throughout.

5 stage wins = Very fine TdF, a lot better than sneaking a top ten (like real life Garmin).

Thanks a lot for all your comments.

The Clasica San Sebastian is a hard one day classic held one week after the Tour de France. Often the decision falls on the second last hill about 30km to the line. The first winner in 1981 was Marino Lejarreta, who also won in 1982 and 1987. So he is also the record champion.

img21.imageshack.us/img21/7708/teamqf.jpg
Hesjedal will be our leader. After a good Tour de France he still feels quite good. Sanchez will be our co-leader but if necessary he has to work for Ryder, too. Kessiakoff and Maaskant will support our riders as long as possible. The other 4 riders are more for the first half of the race.

Of course Gilbert is the main favourite ahead of Cunego. But it`s not sure how their form is at the moment. Schleck, Hesjedal, Kolobnev and Sanchez should all have a good form after the tour.

Too bad you didn't get a top 10 in France. But the Mountains jersey was a great achievement! Smile

Jep. Wegmann did very well in the sprint. But couldn`t help Milram to stay in the Pro Tour. Hope to see them back in 2012 or 2013 with NetApp. Still most good riders in their squad and Ciolek even renewed.

Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian
Donostia - Donostia
img837.imageshack.us/img837/7416/pcm0002l.jpg
The first half is still quite flat. But the second half is very hard with longer hills.
Last year the winner group attacked on the first of the two big hills. Hesjedal wants a better result than last year and will be concentrated a lot.

img268.imageshack.us/img268/7460/pcm0005s.jpg
A big group attacked after the start. Garate (Rabobank) and Busche (RadioShack) might be the strongest riders.

img251.imageshack.us/img251/3032/pcm0006.jpg
Especially Leopard, HTC and Liquigas are doing the pace. They also tried to attack but without success.

img691.imageshack.us/img691/4486/pcm0007g.jpg
Together the group cllimbed the first hill. No splits so far.

img651.imageshack.us/img651/522/pcm0008.jpg
On the second hill and still no attacks. Leopard is still working for Frank Schleck. Many riders fall back now. But with Sanchez, Kessiakoff and Maaskant there are still 3 helpers for Hesjedal, who has no problems.

img840.imageshack.us/img840/9242/pcm0009j.jpg
Liquigas is increasing now for Gilbert. Hesjedal is still feeling good in the first rows. Sanchez, the only helper now is getting some water bottles.
Sandy Casar is the first with an attack but he isn`T strong enough to create a real gap.

img228.imageshack.us/img228/951/pcm0010o.jpg
Sylvain Chavanel with the next attack. This looks much strogner than Casar`s but also not the biggest problem for the favourites` teams.

img198.imageshack.us/img198/1084/pcm0011r.jpg
Next attack and this one is much stronger. Frank Schleck and Monfort this time. Hesjedal is still waiting for Gilbert and a steeper point.

img33.imageshack.us/img33/9976/pcm0012.jpg
There he goes. Gilbert with an incredible attack. Immediately he creates a gap.

img709.imageshack.us/img709/5994/pcm0014.jpg
Chavanel, Kreuziger, Schleck and this time also Hesjedal follow.
This looks quite promising now for us.

img703.imageshack.us/img703/1864/pcm0015.jpg
Gilbert has still a advance and seems to win this classic. Schleck and Hesjedal are chasing first with a few meters to the other favourites.

img714.imageshack.us/img714/3420/pcm0016.jpg
Gilbert is celebrating another big win while Hesjedal is sprinting for a podium.

img407.imageshack.us/img407/2092/pcm0017.jpg
They really finished ahead of the peloton. Frank Schleck as 2nd and Hesjedal as a great 3rd had success with their late attack. Ginnani and Popovych came a bit too late. Another very good result with our canadian leader. Unfortunately he didn`t had this luck in the Ardennes.

Thanks, was a bit surprised that there were less attacks on the long hills, but I had good luck with my attack. Even after losing the sprint against Frank Schleck this is a great result.

The Tour de Pologne is a 7 day stage race in Poland. It`s normally held one week after the Tour de France. It was first held in 1928 and until 1990 it was ridden by amateurs. Since 2005 it`s a part of the UCI Pro Tour and bigger names are riding this race, that is normally dominated by puncheurs. Record champion with 3 wins is the Polish rider Dariusz Baranowski, who won from 91-93.

Daniel Martin did very well last year and was able to distance big names as Nibali, Kirchen or Cunego. Fischer with one stage win and more good results was able to win the points jersey ahead of Rojas Gil and also finished as 19th.

As last year Daniel MArtin will lead our team in Pologne. He got big support by Kessiakoff, who is also good for a good result in the overall. Instead of Fischer we will participate with Farrar in the sprints. So we hope to keep a good form until the Vattenfall Cyclassics.

There are many good puncheurs participating here. The starting field is similar strong as last year, where Martin was able to get a 2nd and so he is also a good bet for this year. But Cunego didn`t rode the Giro & Tour, so he could be in a much better form than last year. It will also be interesting to see Visconti. His team Farnese Vini-Neri are very close to get a PT license next year, so a good result would definitely help them.

A pretty flat stage for the sprinters. The hill on the final circuit shouldn`t be a big problem. Almost all big sprinters from the Tour de France are participating. So we could see another fight between Farrar, Boonen and Haussler, but also Greipel, Davis, McEwen, Ciolek, Breschel, Leezer, Sutton, Brown and Weylandt show how strong the sprinter field is. Maybe even Bennati can stay in the peloton this time.

3 riders attacked today. Marcus Burghardt is the most known and is a great rider for those attacks.

The peloton is led by Lampre-ISD through a wonderful boulevard.
The group is quite close now and will be caught soon.

The spritn starts after the next corner and Farrar`s position could be better. He had the wrong wheel today. This is the problem if you don`t have riders like Boom or Vansummeren in the tour bringing you to the front.

Tom Boonen with another win in this season. He was the strongest today. But also Farrar was still able to reach the podium. Just Gavazzi between them. Haussler on 38 was a bit strange, but obviously he has other plans in this tour.

Just did more catch up, great 5 stage wins on TdF! Smile

Hesjedal was nice with 12th and bad that Farrar couldn't win the points jersey, but it was really close and exciting going to the last stage. Really like the TdF reports, btw. It was just a bit difficult to follow with limited internet time Wink

Leipheimer second Grin Grin

Great podium with Hesjedal in San Sebastian. Hope more good results come in Pologne =D

tsmoha
Great 3rd with Hesjedal and nice opener with Farrar into Pologne. Congrats!

Whats up with Boonen? He was already dominating in France, now again a victory for him???

roturn
I am also surprised. He is 79sp but 83fl, so this might be his advantage plus a perfect fitness obviously.
But as long the best sprinters are already tired after the tour I am looking forward for Rojas in the Vuelta Grin

Alakagom
Great 3rd for Hejsedal. Boonen seems unbeatable in sprints now, hopefully Martin will destroy everyone Grin
