RadioShack - 2010 Tour de France

@tsmoha
Thanks Grin Of course he will join the final sprint, but even if he wins the next stage, he would lose his advantage at the time trial... His main target will be to defend his points jersey...

@Tuco the Ugly
It was the same stage where he attacked and finished second behind Levi, wasnt it? Really poor guy...

@lluuiiggii
Thanks Smile The virtual finish line was before the drawn one... Popovych was ahead of Andy Angry

18. June

Probably the biggest development of the season:
img692.imageshack.us/img692/9514/robertkiserlovskistats.jpg
+1 Flat
+3 Mountain
+2 Hill
+4 Acceleration
+1 Downhill
+3 Stamina
+3 Resistance
+1 Recovery
(As usual, the stat improvements are compared to the stats at the start of the season)

Tour de Suisse
Stage 7: Savognin - Wetzikon, 195,2 km
img33.imageshack.us/img33/2015/tourdesuissestage7.jpg
Most experts expect a mass sprint finish here, but with several hills before the finish, it is quite unsure if the sprinter will reach the finish with the peloton. At least another good stage for Popovych Smile

Team goals:
- Top 5 / Gain more points on Evans (Popovych)
- No time loss (Leipheimer, Armstrong, Klöden)

Favourites:
Danilo Napolitano (SP 78, ACC 79, HIL 67)
Mauro Finetto (SP 75, ACC 78, HIL 75)
André Greipel (SP 81, ACC 80, HIL 63)
Allan Davis (SP 79,ACC 82, HIL 71)
Borut Bozic (SP 78, ACC 78, HIL 68)

My tip:
Mauro Finetto already won one similar stage and as todays profile is probably to hard for pur sprinters, hes my topfavourite for the stage win.

roturn
Kiserlovski is king Grin
He is by far not that good in my career with the ASo. 74mo,74hi in the end of 2nd season.
Good luck in the next stages.

Alakagom
Great Tour de Suisse for you, Popovych riding a rdie of his life. Same happend in my game but it was Szmyd with same stats as Kiserlovski now. Popovych for vistory in this stage Grin

@roturn
Thanks Smile Thats a thing I love at this game: This strange developments, I never can imagine Kiserlovski that good irl...

@Alakagon
Agree. Popovych was always considered as a great talent, but finally never won any stage race  I am happy for him that he shows what he is really able to do Smile

Unfortunately, his brave attack was not very successfull. With 6,5 km to the finish, Armstrong, Mori and Elmiger were caught.

2700m to the line.
We tried another tactic today: Andreas Klöden as lead-out for Popovych. Zaugg joined our train, while Mauro Finetto hangs on Pietropollis backwheel...

img18.imageshack.us/img18/6140/k2pcm0010.jpg
1100m left.
Daniele Pietropolli now in front, Mauro Finetto still in his slipstream. Popovych in third position, but still with a full red bar and a high pace. We only can hope that Pietropolli and Finetto lost to much power to get in front while Popovych only stayed at Klödens backwheel...

img26.imageshack.us/img26/5613/k2pcm0011.jpg
CRASH!
Carlos Sastre falled, David de la Fuente and Imanol Erviti had no chance to pass him and falled wth him.

img84.imageshack.us/img84/3491/k2pcm0012b.jpg
Back to the front:
The first stage victory for Yaroslav Popovych! It seems that our tactic worked: Pietropolli and Finetto were already exhausted, while Popovych still had enough power left to accelerate and passed them again!
Klöden finished 7th, Armstrong 9th, Leipheimer 26th, with the same time as Popovych.

img40.imageshack.us/img40/8837/k2pcm0013.jpg
Luck for the crash-victims: The organisators felt pity for them and gave them the same time as the stage winner.

STAGE VICTORY! Banana

Thank you guys Grin Probably my favourite victory in this career, Yaroslav in the form of his live... Maybe the next one in this stage?

Stage 8: Wetzikon - Liestal, 176,1 km

The last stage before the deciding time trial is another hilly one. With favourites waiting for the time trial, it is a good stage for a breakaway victory... If they did not manage it to the finish, we can looking forward to another sprint with good chances for another good result for Popovych.

Team goals:
- Top 5 (Popovych)
- No time loss (Armstrong, Leipheimer, Klöden)

Favourites:
Cadel Evans (HIL 81, RES 79, STA 76)
Denis Menchov (HIL 77, RES 77, STA 75)
Philippe Gilbert (HL 83, RES 76, STA 81)
Andy Schleck (HIL 81, RES 78, STA 76)
Alberto Contador (HIL 79, RES 79, STA 75)

My tip:
Breakaway victory.

3000m to go.
Voeckler and Leukemans still with 16 seconds in front. Efimkin and Armstrong lead the peloton after they tried an attack at the last hill. In the peloton, we wanted to try the same tactic as yesterday, Klöden as lead-out man for Yaroslav Popovych.

img405.imageshack.us/img405/6140/k2pcm0010.jpg
700m to the line. Leukemans seems to be exhausted and lost much ground, but Voeckler still with a quite huge gap...

And thats the second stage victory for Thomas Voeckler!

img688.imageshack.us/img688/9766/k2pcm0012.jpg
Surprisingly Alberto Contador was the strongest in the pack, he finished second ahead of Monfort and Popovych. Too bad that Yaroslav do not get any time bonification, but at least he saved the points jersey today Smile Leipheimer finished 8th, Klöden 11th, Armstrong 16th.

Thats the situation before the last stage tomorrow, a time trial about 26 kilometers. Not to long, but long enough to make some changes. Yaroslav have to make the time trial of his live, but at this crazy Tour de Suisse, everything is possible... Armstrong and Leipheimer will need luck, but with a good daily form, I am quite sure that they might be able to go up some places.

Already one saved success: Nobody could steal the points jersey anymore. Our main sponsor will be happy...

Great win by Popo!! He was doing great on flat sprints, great on climbings, that stage was designed for him! Grin

Great also to have the points secured, hope you can defend the 2nd and defend from Saxo Bank on the team classification Wink

And after today's performance from Alberto, I believe we have a winner for tomorrow Sad

tsmoha
Again a nice finish for Popo!

20. July

Matthew Busche wants to sign a new contract... I am not sure if he still suits in our squad, he is only an average rider and almost no potential left. Except some good results at the Tour of the Gila, he did not show anything 2010.
What do you think, signing him again?
img94.imageshack.us/img94/835/matthewbuschestats.jpg

Thank you Smile Lets see if hes able to make his 9th Top10 in Switzerland today:

Tour de Suisse
Stage 9:
img560.imageshack.us/img560/9526/tourdesuissestage9.jpg
The deciding time trial... The puncheurs have a little advantage here.

Team goals:
- Defend at least the podium overall (Popovych)
- Try to improve your overall position (Armstrong, Leipheimer)
- Go up to Top 10 Overall (Klöden)

Favourites:
Tony Martin (TT 82, RES 73, HIL 73)
Alberto Contador (TT 81, RES 79, HIL 79)
Cadel Evans (TT 79, RES 79, HIL 81)
Roman Kreuziger (TT 78, RES 77, HIL 78)
Denis Menchov (TT 80, RES 77, HIL 77)

My tip:
A hilly time trial suits perfectly to Cadel Evans...

baia
Don´t sign him.

roturn
If you can get a good option for him then don`t sign him.
Have the same problem with Kreder, who is quite similar.

If there is no really good option for him, then renew for one year. Can be a good support for hilly races.

felix_29
I´d better sign someone else, who is a possible option to replace him?

janne_837
Thank you for your advices. I refused the negotiations, he told me that he acquiesced and understood my decision.
We will try to sign a similar rider like Busche, but maybe a bit younger and with more potential, maybe Markus Eibegger, Eros Capecchi or Maxime Bouet... And if we fail to sign any other rider, we still have Ben Hermans, who is a similar rider to him.

img27.imageshack.us/img27/5900/k2pcm0002.jpg
Jos Van Emden with the first mentionable time: 37'34"

img341.imageshack.us/img341/4479/k2pcm0003.jpg
Jack Bobridge beats him by 9 seconds: 37'25"

img233.imageshack.us/img233/5441/k2pcm0004m.jpg
Philippe Gilbert showed never known time trial abilities, the new besttime for him: 36'48"

img806.imageshack.us/img806/2259/k2pcm0005.jpg
Erik Gustav Larsson, normally one of the best time trialers world wide, was not able to beat Gilbert. 37'05"

img130.imageshack.us/img130/9694/k2pcm0006.jpg
David Millar had a good ride and beats Gilberts time by 18 seconds, the new besttime for the scotchman: 36'30"

img64.imageshack.us/img64/5046/k2pcm0008.jpg
Maxime Monfort confirmed his good shape from the past days again, he was only 5 seconds slower than Millar: 36'35"
Andreas Klöden was only our fourth best rider overall, but he was motivated to get back to the Top 10 overall and set an amazing besttime: 36'00"

img37.imageshack.us/img37/5137/k2pcm0009.jpg
Fränk Schleck seemed to profit from the hilly profile, a quite good time for a non-time trialer like him: 37'10"

img152.imageshack.us/img152/5613/k2pcm0011.jpg
Same here. Ivan Basso: 37'25"

img19.imageshack.us/img19/9766/k2pcm0012.jpg
The only weakness of Andy Schleck: The fight against the clock. But he did quite well today, he was only 4 seconds slower than Gilbert (and beat time trial specialists like Larsson or Peraud): 36'42"

img96.imageshack.us/img96/8837/k2pcm0013.jpg
Lance Armstrong did his best, finishing only 12 seconds behind Klöden. So a 1-2 for TheShack at the moment... 36'12"

img831.imageshack.us/img831/6985/k2pcm0014.jpg
Roman Kreuziger was one of the favourites today, but he was not able to beat Klöden or Armstrong: Only a 36'18" for the czech.

img716.imageshack.us/img716/3799/k2pcm0015.jpg
I already imagined Klödi as todays stage winner... But he was defeated by an other german rider who had an amazng day, Tony Martin! 35'42" and the new besttime!

img214.imageshack.us/img214/8149/k2pcm0016t.jpg
After seeing that Martin beated Klöden, we hoped for Levi Leipheimer. Well, Levi was not that bad, but weaker than Klöden: 36'11"

img38.imageshack.us/img38/7869/k2pcm0017.jpg
Denis Menchov was good, but at least only 2 seconds faster than Leipheimer: 36'09"

img217.imageshack.us/img217/9681/k2pcm0018e.jpg
Cadel Evans with another impressive performance today (Too bad that BMC did not get a wildcard for the Tour de France). He was not able to beat Martin, but at least he was 7 seconds faster than Klöden: 35'53"

img69.imageshack.us/img69/2237/k2pcm0019.jpg
Yaroslav Popovych... After eight awesome days, it seems that he have one bad today Sad 59 seconds slower than Martin... Thats the end of our dreams for a podium. 36'41"

img513.imageshack.us/img513/5540/k2pcm0020.jpg
Knowing that no RadioShack rider can win anymore, I crossed my finger for Tony Martin. Please a stage win for the talented young german...
Alberto Contador ignored my wishes and was 3 seconds faster than Martin. The second stage win and the overall victory for El Pistolero.

ALBERTO CONTADOR IS BACK, PART 2: El Pistolero showed why he is the top favourite for Le Tour... In this shape, he is probably unbeatable. A good day for RaidoShack, too. Of course we lost our podium spot after the weak performance from Popovych, but Klöden was able to get back in the Top 10 overall and Armstrong conquered the sixth overall Smile

A deserved victory for Contador. Because of the lack of mountain stages, we see Tony Martin on the podium, a nice result for him. Denis Menchov and Andy Schleck also showed that they are peaking for LeTour, but they have still to improve if they really want to win the Maillot Jaune in France. Some rider was disappointing, I expected far more from Fränk Schleck and Jrgen Van den Broeck...
We failed to get one of our rider at the podium, but I think we can be satisfied with four rider in the Top10.

Pretty strange jersey for RadioShack... I think its a nice proof for the awesome performances from Popovych.

Nice to see Lance on the podium, at least for the team classification Grin

Oh my god. Popovych missed the top 10 Wink
This can`t be true...

Maxime Bouet would be my favourite. Not sure how good he is in the PCM Daily but I like his stats in the ASO. Good for breakaway stage wins and some minor races.

Great report from the time-trial, and great Tour de Suisse for you, 4 riders in Top10 is impresive, hope this continues at the TdF Smile
