CONGRATULATIONS RAZIZ!!!!
The New Champion!!
Banana Banana

It's as easy as you like for Raziz as he strolls to victory in Season 2 of the Grand High Wizard Contest. Following in 2nd place is Selwink, who makes a comeback after falling to 3rd during the World Championships. Abhishek pips Jandal to 3rd place, having scored more points from predictions and less from bonuses.

After having been beaten at the line for the win last year, Jandal loses out on tie-break for the last podium spot this time! Behind him, just 15 points separate 5th place Marco, the outgoing champion an 7th place Purepasd. It's a case of what could've been for the latter as he stopped competing following the Vuelta. Emre bisects the previously mentioned pair in 6th. Aquarius finished a commendable 8th and one wonders where he would've ended up had he been participating from the start. Croatia finishes 9th, the lowest among our regulars. The remaining places are taken up by Luxemburger, Ian, Squire, United Forever, Hillis and Trekbmc, in that order.

Congrats to Raziz for his commanding win Shock And Selwink for best of the rest (with three races left than Abhishek and I too!). No thanks to Abhishek for beating me out for the podium Pfft Also commendable Marco and Croatia entering 40/40 races and especially the latter with some stunning calls. I would also like to congratulate myself for winning 14 races Pfft Aquarius 2nd afaik on 12, probably more impressive but you have to enter them all (except Catalunya Pfft)

Massive thanks above all to Abhishek though, great job again, huge effort doing most of the work! A pleasure to be your co-host Smile Thanks to all the regulars for a great battle, see you all next year!

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Another season wrapped up. Given how this game was formed from a race discussion thread predicting the top 10 for a race (I don't remember which one, probably Criterium Dauphine 2016), I'd say we have come a long way.

First of all, a big congratulations to Raziz for a dominant win! He took the lead after Catalunya, lost it once and for one race following the Giro, but never lost it again till the finish. Next up to Selwink for hanging in there till the very end and claiming a well-earned 2nd.

What can I say to my co-host but "Haha, gotch'ya" Pfft. Was a fun battle all year long Grin

Commiserations to outgoing champion Marco, who couldn't repeat his heroics from last year. I'm sure he'll come back stronger.

Finally, a big Thank You to everyone who participated and made this game successful. I had a great time hosting it. Even more thanks to Jandal for being the ever supportive co-host. He takes less credit than he should Pfft

Signing off for 2017 and hope to be back and get you all back for 2018.

Aquarius97
Well, 8th is not that if we consider that i miss the big Year Long Questions, and I sucked at the other 2. You can see that I was fourth removing bonus points despite missing the 6 early races and sucking all the summer. If not for the latter, I might have been first in points without bonus.

Congrats to raziz for that dominant win, and big thanks to Abhishek and jandal for organising this amazing contest.

I promise to comeback next year to win!!!!!

Thanks Abhishek and Jandal for organising this again, looking forward to the next season already. Personally disappointed with my finishing position but it's not the end of the world

Congrats Raziz, deserved winner and welcome to the club of (former) winners. At least I'm not alone anymore Pfft Also congrats to Croatia for predicting every race as well, and also a shoutout to all the other participants!

A massive thank you to Abhishek for hosting this wonderful game along with Jandal, certainly a more than capable duo of hosts. Would also like to thank everyone who has congratulated me, without you the game wouldn't be a game. Commiserations to those whom didn't achieve what they set out to, but I'm sure you gave it your best effort and there is always next time to improve.
