A question for those who know these things. I did a forced volume capacity test today and managed to exhale 5.8 litres of the air. No one else tested - about 20 people - got above 4.5 litres. So, is mine high or theirs low? |

Rather high (4-6 is the normal range I reckon), but that doesn't mean much about athletic capacities.
I have something like 7.5 or 8.0 litres (it was measured during science lessons experiments), and so has my dad. It could be a bottleneck for performance if too low though.

Interesting, thanks. Only three of us got above 4, so we must just be a weak class. I had to stop in the end due to pain in my back before loss of breath, which was weird. I doubt I'd have gone much further though. |

Would you say you have big lungs or a big ribs cage ? By big I mean "above average" ?
From memory (that was 12 odd years ago), only the tiniest chicks scored in the 3-4 litres range, most guys were in the 4-6 range, including cyclists stronger than me.

My right rib cage is bigger than my left - it protudes out by an inch. But apart from that, nothing else really. |

There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Having my life and sole drained out of me by the worst essay question i've ever encountered. 95% of all journal articles and other academic readings are feminist man-bashings... added to that the fact the essay wants an evaluation of how these studies contribute to the study of gender, and i'm now ready to die....
Taken me 2hours to write 500 words... have another 1500 to write by tomorrow morning... I think i might die of boredom and a melted brain
sorry for the moan, but it had to come out

May I ask what the question is? And is it worse than writing an essay about the Anthropocene, for which literally every article is published by Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society within the last 2 years, which means it falls under their publishers restriction, concerning the last 2 years... So essentially, I cant do my essay because every article is blocked and only a select ew colleges in the UK and US have access to it...
IN other, Way MORE IMPORTANT NEWS:
Does anyone know, where I can get the 2013 SI Swimsuit Issue online? I have been looking around Dublin today, but there is no proper Newsagent in the entire country (except for maybe the airport, well terminal 2 to be excact) where you can buy a wide variety of international international newspapers and magazines...
(Most of the time, you cant even get the rolling stne here.... And if you can, its an english ripoff, talking mainly about Hipster music).
Any hints towards an Internet source is much obliged (preferably a European based website)...
BTW: Everyone who wants to suggest Amazon, doesnt need to comment. they only have the 2013 Calender from SI...

@miggi
I like paleoclimatology/archaeology/climate change, so to me yours sounds like a nice essay
About SI, been trying to do the same thing with little success so far.

Damned... I really hope that someone can help me out here... Otherwise I have to ask my friend to post me one from Vermont...
Actually, my research has shown a result... For the 2012 issue
As for the geography- A: What college are you attending? Maybe you can access one of the articles i need for my essay through your institution...
B: The anthropocene is quite interesting (a lot better than any historical geography question/topic, of which I had to many recently), but when you keep reading about the Dams and Sediment loads etc. in the US for 20+ pages and most of it would rather fit in a Hillslope or River geomorphology question, rather than a Anthropocene one, it gets kinda longwindng and you need a lot of coffee to make it through the day...

2012 issue... its close i guess
Depends on where the article is. We get access to a lot of sources so maybe...
Just don't talk to me about geomorphology of any kind, else i will sew your mouth shut... actually tape your fingers together would work better

I'll give the typical "single" response by saying that Valentines day is pointless.
I think any sort of "spoiling" you are doing to your partner, the element of surprise (the thing that imo makes those sorts of things the best) is the part that gets taken away on Valentines day.
