I'm glad you're all enjoying the success!
I'd also like to apologize for the lack of updates recently. I don't have much time left over when busy time at school coincides with the start of the ManGame season. I'm working on some reports for races there, but I hope to finish soon and return to this again soon.

Take it easy, we'll be waiting
Btw, too bad your rider didn't make it in the TDU (Man-Game), so close to the win there! |

Thanks for understanding. Still pretty busy, but I'll try to have a few reports up in the next couple of days. Things should return to normal speed again within a week or two.
2.1: Tour Méditerranéen
Time for some more difficult terrain, as we travel to our home region for this hilly race. Three out of four stages may be for the sprinters, but the final day will take the riders to the top of Mont Faron, which is probably the toughest finish in any race so far this year.
Koretzky won the opening stage and finished second overall in last year's edition, but doesn't really have the form to repeat that kind of performance. Perichon will therefore lead our squad, aiming for a top 5 in the overall.
Another target is a stage win, which Flaksis, Paiani and Koretzky in particular will be looking for. The rest are in pretty bad shape, so we're not expecting much more than good domestique work from them.
Australian road champ Simon Clarke is back to defend his title, together with fellow Aussie Simon Gerrans. Garmin and Blanco also have nice squads, headed by Dan Martin and Paul Martens respectively.
Good competition for the sprints as well. Rojas, Wagner and Renshaw look like the strongest cards on paper, but it's always hard to predict this early in the season.

What a strong startlist! The team will have a hard time getting results, but let's hope for a victory or a top 5 in the GC. If everything goes well, it could be possible

Strong startlist, but you should do well, nonetheless. Good luck
Oh, I see you haven't added the 2 South Africans to your roster

Thanks all for the massive support!
@ aidan - Sorry for that, but I decided to keep the team French-Baltic rather than including South Africa like irl. Hope you'll enjoy it anyway.
2.1: Tour Mediterranéen: Stage 1, 2
The early breakaway, including a.o. Juan José Cobo, Gianluca Brambilla and the runner-up on this stage last year, Russell Downing, is out the front practically from kilometer one today.
After hovering around a couple of minutes ahead for a long time, their gap is eventually reduced by Blanco, Vacansoleil and Orica. The catch is made just as we reach the little incline near the finish, known as "Koretzky Hill" since last year's late attack.
Vacansoleil builds up a tremendous train for Romain Feillu, but we have other plans. With help from Flaksis, Perichon moves into position and attempts to copy Koretzky's famous attack in the steepest part of the little drag upwards.
Vacansoleil are prepared though, and Marcato launches the sprint early to keep Perichon within striking range for Feillu, who then kicks off under the kilometer mark to shut the last bit of gap.
Perichon is quickly swallowed up, but Feillu also starts to lose ground when the other sprinters launch the sprint too. Michel Kreder is the first to go past, followed by Daryl Impey and also a surprisingly strong Koretzky.
Impey has one more gear than everyone else and just jumps away in the slight uphill finish. Kreder nabs second place, just about holding off Robert Wagner.
Koretzky is a close fifth, also beaten by Marcato - who Vacansoleil probably should've worked for instead. 10th place from Flaksis was another pleasant surprise.
1 | Daryl Impey | Orica - GreenEdge | 3h16'31 | 2 | Michel Kreder | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 3 | Robert Wagner | Blanco Pro Cycling | s.t. | 4 | Marco Marcato | Vacansoleil - DCM | s.t. | 5 | Clément Koretzky | La Pomme - Bouygues | s.t. |
We're represented in the early break by Flaksis. The group never looks like much of a threat though, so he makes sure to win the intermediate sprint before ditching the others inside the final 15 km.
The sprinter teams have complete control over the situation though, and his escape attempt comes to an end just a couple of kilometers later.
The leadout is again formed by Vacansoleil, but this time for Kenny Van Hummel. Marcato leaves the road open for him with a kilometer to go, but they're immediately challenged by Angelo Tulik.
Van Hummel manages to strike back at Tulik and retake the lead, but can't stop a quick Fabio Felline from sneaking through the middle to win the stage!
Impey can't do better than 8th, but still retains the overall lead.
Kwiatkowski's 17th place is our best result today, closely followed by Koretzky in 18th. Obviously not great, but since we don't have any competitive sprinter present, it's not really surprising!
1 | Fabio Felline | Androni Giocattoli - Venezuela | 3h06'41 | 2 | Kenny Van Hummel | Vacansoleil - DCM | s.t. | 3 | Angelo Tulik | AG2R La Mondiale | s.t. | 4 | Laurent Pichon | FDJ | s.t. | 5 | Rubén Pérez Moreno | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. |
The GC isn't really that interesting, as it'll be turned upside down when we reach the final day. Flaksis is well placed thanks to the intermediate sprint seconds, and both Perichon and Koretzky are also looking solid so far.
Current General Classification:
1 | Daryl Impey | Orica - GreenEdge | 6h22'52 | 2 | Fabio Felline | Androni Giocattoli - Venezuela | s.t. | 3 | Angelo Tulik | AG2R La Mondiale | + 8 | 4 | Michel Kreder | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 5 | Kenny Van Hummel | Vacansoleil - DCM | s.t. | 6 | Robert Wagner | Blanco Pro Cycling | + 12 | 7 | Andzs Flaksis | La Pomme - Bouygues | + 14 | 8 | Nikolas Maes | OmegaPharma - Quickstep | s.t. | 9 | Juan José Cobo | Movistar Team | s.t. | 10 | Rémi Pauriol | Team Sojasun | s.t. |
