Focus Races
I still need you to send in 3 focus races. How you perform in these races have an influence on your budget for next season. Within these races has to be at least one stage race and one one-day race. Also these three races will have to be designed for at least two different leader types. So e.g. sending in two mountainous stage races and a mountain classic won't work. Other than that you are free to choose from every race you are participating in, no matter if WT or CT team/race. Depending on how much points you score in the focus race you get money added or removed from next season's budget. The TdF can bring the biggest bonus in budget, but when failed it can also give the biggest minus. After that there are monuments/other GTs, WT, CT.1, CT.2 races in that order. This task has only to be done for your main team, not the U23 team.

I probably ask this every year, but how does a stage race get rated? GC only or do stage wins and jerseys also count?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Everything counts. The bonus is calculated by the ranking points earned in relation to other participants. |

I'm afraid this still isn't clear to me. Are you adding up the prestige points earned in my 3 focus races and compare those to the points earned by other teams (only CT in my case?) in their focus races? And you make a table and if there are 20 teams then the 10th team still gets a bonus while the 11th is losing budget?

Stage races is actually fairly simple but at what point is a eg monument win a success? Because if I win the race but my next rider is 50th, I get just a small amount of total available points. Is the race still ranked as a success then?

For every race you get rewarded according to your scored prestige points there, if you want to understand this better you can look at this post: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1132209
There is only one small mistake in the formula where it says total/#teams it should be 1/#teams. I'm not 100% sure the formula is still exactly the same, but the principle is still the same.
@Shonak: A monument win will be counted as a success in any case, but how good your second rider is placed still could have a minor influence. |

For every race you get rewarded according to your scored prestige points there
Ok, have read that carefully and looked at your examples. I'll try and put it in layman's terms, see if I got this right: Unlike I thought in my previous post, a team's performance in the focus races is not compared to how other teams do in their focus races, but just how well you do in yours.
A success (increase in budget next season) is if you score more than the average amount of prestige points in the race (including all stages, etc, for stage races).
If 20 teams take part, the average will always be 5%. You need to score more than 5% and your budget will increase, up to 250 per focus race.
If you pick a CT.2 race, you'd need at least 17.5% to get to 250, in the TdF you'd need 10% (with 20 teams, a little less with more), which is still double the amount the teams get on average.
But every bit above the average counts. If you end below average, you lose budget, but only up to -50. In the TdF you reach the cap with 3%. In a CT.2 race even just 1% (5 times worse than average) would only lose you 40.
So, I think that explains it - if I got it right. (Btw, Bikex, there is another small mistake in that post, you call all examples TDF when it comes to RV.)

You’re not completely correct, the maximum Bonus also changes with the race category. If you want I can later post the current formula, when I’m home. |

I think so, the profile in the calendar thread is mountain-rated at least.

iirc you cannot pick the WC rankings anymore because they already give you a monetary benefit

Yes, please. Of course I don't really need to know it exactly and stage races are so complex anyway, so many ways to score points. But I can say for one-day races, with this formula, no matter if it's a monument, WT, CT.1 or CT.2: A team increases its budget in a field of 20 or more teams if one rider finishes at least 6th. Or two riders finish at least 12th and 13th.
In any case, I handed it my picks before making this calculation.

My drunk friend Coraita14 took over planning for the planning for 3 Teams (and Project Africa). Still, there is the possibility to send the planners in for March & later. Please contact me for that to work on those...But be fast!

You mean besides the focus races choice? I think we're done and racing can start after that.

Correct. We need to collect jerseys, then work on the db/create startlists and then the season can start.
If there is a volunteer to collect all jerseys, feel free to raise your arm and hit me with a message.
