When someone state such a ridicolous thing 'as one of the greatest', that is to be expected IMO. All 3 men are phenomenal in their own right, BUT, its way over the top to call them what you just did. There are MANY better riders, present and and in the ol' times-

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine.

Cavendish is possibly THE greatest road sprinter of all time. Therefore he is one of the greatest automatically.
Froome has won 3 TdFs so far. Only 4 men have won more and he is level with Greg LeMond who I assume you would agree is one of the greatest. Froome can surpass 3 wins and so has to be considered one of the greatest.
Wiggins has won the TdF and multiple Olympic golds. How many other TdF winners have done that? Even Merckx never won an Olympic medal. Not to mention his TT world title and hour record.

You can't compare the riders that raced pre 90's with current riders with regards to the Olympics - they weren't allowed to enter because they were pro.

Also Froome can't be considered "one of the greatest" because he has a POSSIBILITY to win one or two more Tours.. Sagan has potential for huge results - maybe even better than Froome (although Sagan is not a future GT winner)
Vincenzo Nibali - Rui Costa - Nairo Quintana - Alberto Contador - Peter Sagan

But you said only road counts... What have Wiggins multiple olympic medals and hour record to do with that.

He's already won 3. Is that not enough to be considered great?
So Greg LeMond isn't great either then?

Spilak23
LeMond surely is the most overrated cyclist of all time.

Froome is great yes. But not among the greatest. LeMond won other things too, including two WCs. Froome hasn't won anything other than 3 TdFs.

Yeah, LeMond is great, but not one of the greatest. Neither is Froome, Cav, Wiggo or whatever. Boonen IS one of thje greatest, so is Cance, Contador likewise.

I'm sorry, but Cav is one of the greatest. We are talking about the sprinter with the most stage wins at the Tour. Bullshit if he's not one of the greatest imo

Didn't say they don't count. Said it's impossible to compare.
I would agree Wiggins has the weakest case but he has won the TdF, 5 golds, a world TT title on the road as well as numerous track world titles and holds the hour record. How can someone who's done all that not be considered great?

Laura Trott won omnium, guess it's nice for her. didn't really pay as much attention as I should have. didn't have commentary as well and during the points course, you have no idea that it's happening when you're uninformed Grin

Again, he is great, but not among the greatest. Wiggo is one the greatest modern cyclists, (so is Cav and Froome) but not all-time.

I don't consider a pure sprinter a true great. Yes, he has a WC, but on what route? I''d pick Sagan and Gilbert ahead of him anyday.

He's one of the greatest sprinters that's for sure but sprinters are easily the 'worst' of cyclists so they shouldn't be coming close in lists of greatest cyclists.

She was miles ahead of her competition. At no point was she in any danger after the pursuit.

Trott and Kenny's children will sweep track cycling at the 2036 Olympics. Heard it here first Pfft

Ok you're way over the line here, typical case of extreme fanboyism. This is utterly ridiculous. Cav and the gang are obviously top notch riders, there's no need to throw stupid embarrassing stuff like this.

ummm... I'm sorry but you cant eliminate sprinters from an all time list because you dont like them.

I'm sorry but that is BS, Cav has 30 sprint wins in the tour, 30. Thats unheard of, Sagan is good for sure but wont come anywhere near, Cav is one of the best of all time, like it or not.
