You nearly won it! Perhaps you will in Alp D'Huez. |

Just read it. Can`t be true that the strongest rider by far lost because of 500m
Good luck in the next stages. |

Thanks Its pity. Sérgio has a great year (4th Giro, 7th Romandie), but only one "real" victory" (a crazy stage in Romandie, where he won the final sprint in a small group). I only hope that he gets a similar form for Alpe d'Huez, he might attack Vino...
12. June
The Tour de Suisse (English: Tour of Switzerland) is a UCI ProTour stage race held annually in June. The race debuted in 1933 and has evolved in timing, duration and sponsorship. With the Dauphiné Libéré, it is a proving ground for the Tour de France, and part of the UCI World Ranking calendar. Like the Tour de France and the Dauphiné Libéré, the Tour de Suisse offers mountain climbs and at least one individual time trial. Several winners of the Tour de France have also won the Tour de Suisse, including Eddy Merckx, Lance Armstrong and Jan Ullrich. In 2005 the organizers moved the race to earlier in June.
Most wins: Pasquale Fornara (ITA) 4
Winner 2009: Fabian Cancellara (SUI)

Favourites: As expected a strong startlist. Alberto Contador is the favourite, but without a really helper, he mights lost against the Schleck brothers. World champ Cadel Evans has the same problem as Contador, but the course (only one mountain stage, but three hilly stages) suits him well. Denis Menchov and Roman Kreuziger, who already won here 2008, are important GC contenders, too. Candidates for a Top 5 might be Carlos Sastre, Tony Martin, Jurgen Van den Broeck or Ryder Hesjedal.
RadioShack: Strong selection for Switzerland. With Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer and Andreas Klöden, we have even three rider which are able to finish at least at the podium. Main leader will be Lance, but as I promised earlier in this story, Klödi will get the same support and try to win in his adoptive country. Steegmans, supported from Vaitkus, will be our rider for the three flat stages, but both are in a really worse shape and only want to build up some shape for the national championships. Popovych and Rovny will be helper for the mountains, Muravyev for flat stages.
Stage 1: Lugano, 6km ITT
Pretty similar to the prologue from the Dauphiné, a short TT, but with hard first 3 kilometers, where the rider have to climb to the Via S. Giorgio, followed by 2 kilometers downhill and a short flat section to the finish.
Team goals:
- Top 5 (Armstrong)
- Top 10 (Leipheimer, Klöden)
Favourites:
Tony Martin (PRL 82, HIL 73, RES 73)
Roman Kreuziger (PRL 81, HIL 78, RES 77)
Alberto Contador (PRL 80, HIL 79, RES 79)
Lance Armstrong (PRL 80, HIL 76, RES 78)
Cadel Evans (PRL 77, HIL 81, RES 79)
My tip:
Tony Martin finished third irl, and I have the feeling that he will win today. |

David Millar finished with a quite good time (No besttime, he was 6 sec slower than Nicki Sörensen, but I do not have a screenshot from him).
12'34"
Fränk Schleck was surpringly good, his shape must be good: Only 4 sec slower than Millar.
12'38"
Maxime Monfort had an amazing ride, the new besttime!
12'21"
Yaroslav Popovych, today with his first ride since his improvement, was amazing! Only one second slower than Monfort (To be honest, he had a well daily form, +2)
12'22"
Erik Gustav Larsson with some problems at the climb, only an average ride for him.
12'27"
Decent prologue rider and probably the best rider on hilly terrain - Philippe Gilbert showed his strength.
12'25"
Levi Leipheimer was the best time trialer at the Giro d'Italia, many experts expect a lot of him. Although he had a -2 daily form, he fulfill their expectations with the new besttime!
12'17"
Ivan Basso already ride the Giro - but does not seems to be exhausted. He finished with the same time as Larsson.
12'27"
Andreas Klöden does not feel very well today (-3 daily form), nonetheless he was able to show his abilities against the clock.
12'23"
Top favourite Tony Martin was not able to beat Levis time, too.
12'22"
Roman Kreuziger with the same time as Klödi.
12'23"
Denis Menchov is a strong rider for longer time trials, only an average for short. But his shape and his daily form has to be superb - he beats Levis time by 6 seconds and takes the lead!
12'11"
Lance was proud to present his new Unity TT-bike (THANKS TO FELIX_29 FOR THIS GREAT BIKE) which he will use in all upcomming time trial races.
But this was probably the only nice thing for him today, he felt bad (Of course he had a -5 daily form ) Even with this daily form, he was only one second slower than Klödi and Kreuziger.
12'24"
Andy Schleck showed never knowed strength against the clock, he finished with the same time as Lance.
12'24"
Cadel Evans was strong today, he finished with the same time as Menchov (but a few milliseconds later, so no new besttime).
12'11"
Alberto Contador showed that he improved his shape since the Tour of California.
12'17"

Of course not that bad result for us, but Popovych showed today what is possible with a good day form - I am sure that Lance/Klödi/Levi had won with a positive daily form... Congrats to Menchov, he was amazing today, his shape must be perfect.

Thank you all Bad luck with the daily form, but our rider showed their strenght, I am looking forward to the next stages in Switzerland..
Sorry, I forgot to post Lance stats in my last update:
Still with the start stats. There is little chance that he improves before the Tour de France, but I am still hoping
Critérium du Dauphiné
Stage 6: Crolles – L'Alpe d'Huez, 141,9 km
Queens stage of the Dauphiné 2010. First notable mountain is the Col du Grand-Cucheron, Cat. 2, but we expect a slow pace in the peloton there, I can not imagine any attacls there. 30km later, the rider reach the Col du Glandon, well-known from the Tour de France. There should be a higher pace, but the real fight begins at the last 20 kilometers, when the peloton reachs the legendary climb up to Alpe d'Huez. We expect a hard fight between the favourites for the overall.
Team goals:
- Attack! (Paulinho)
- Defend 5th overall (Brajkovic)
- Make sure that RadioShack wins the team classification (Horner)
Favourites:
Alexandre Vinokourov (MO 78, RES 75, STA 79)
Samuel Sánchez (MO 81, RES 78, STA 75)
Robert Kiserlovski (MO 79, RES 77, STA 71)
Sérgio Paulinho (MO 78, RES 75, STA 73)
Michael Rogers (MO 78, RES 74, STA 71)
My tip:
We want to win today, so of course I have to tip on Sérgio Paulinho. |
