Or self preservation.
I'm not saying that I agree with teaming up with Trump and Putin. But it will be an option for Britain if the EU try to play hard ball.

And why wouldn't they play hard ball?
UK is better off. Remember?

Because Britain was one of the 3 main countries keeping the EU afloat. If they cut Britain off completely it'll basically be Germany and France funding the rest of Europe.
They have the option to keep Britain close to the EU. Or push us away to other countries. Don't forget, Britain has the Commonwealth to trade with. Canada, Australia and large parts of Africa and Asia. We have stronger ties with America than the rest of Europe. Britain has other options if the EU is determined to push us away.
It's all just talk though as it will all be sorted out eventually. All I'm saying is that "theoretically" Trump winning could strengthen Britains position.

I'd win hands down
Most of what I say is very tongue in cheek. I just get bored at work and starting discussions gives me something to do
However you can't deny that Britain was a major economy in the EU. It will be a big blow to loose all British involvement completely. Everyone has lost really. Now its about the different sides getting the best outcome for themselves.

Should be good fun to follow this. Some part of me hoped Trump would win in order to see the outrage and if Trumps actually follow throughs on his many, hmm, interesting statements. |

It's the fault of the American political system that allowed two terrible candidates in the first place. In what kind of developed country can a man with absolutely no political experience buy his way into the White House?

It's been facinating looking at various breakdowns of the voting. It's incredible how similar a lot of the breakdowns of the US vote are to breakdowns of the UK Brexit vote. Clear divides between Urban and Rural, between levels of education, between age, between ethnicity.
Something is fundamentally wrong with politics to generate such clear and vast divides, and to generate such anti-establishment sentimentality. Whilst i won't agree with people who vote "because i don't like the system" i can sort of understand them. And voting is actually the best way for them to express such a view.
Ok Trump/Brexit are not great outcomes, but there are up-sides to each of them. They are not totally self-destructive outcomes. I wonder how we'll feel looking back in 4 years time on both decisions, because we won't get a good grasp until that point.

Brexit is permanent. Trump is only 4 years. Plus remember, the president has relatively little influence, at least to what people really think he does imho, the GOP will have its big say and won't allow Trump to do whatever he wants to do.
Whatever people think Trump will not be a disastrous choice as far as foreign policy goes, the world will not end. Clinton was far bigger war monger than Trump will most likely be. In actual truth, one could hope with Trump there now the US will stop being such hypocrite and fund Saudi Barbarbia. On social issues, environment and SCOTUS, we are fucked. Especially if one more justice retires during the presidency, then liberals are fucked for good few decades.
The most interesting question for me is if domino theory continues and France is gonna be next. If France votes for Le Pen this will have far bigger implication than Trump being a president due to their views on European Union. If France leaves, the EU might as well self combust and die.
Tbf, spare a thought for Obama He undelivered to what most people expected, but his legacy is gonna get totally destroyed in few months with republicans controlling everything.
P.S. I hope Trump gives Assange Medal of Honor. Deserved.

Well, but who are you to judge their intelligence?
And how do you define intelligence? I have an high enough IQ to probably kill the definition of "whoever has an high IQ" for you. So how do you define it? By the choice they just made, on how to change their country?

I am baffled by these results. The polls were so wrong entering the day. I agree with the theories that people were hiding the fact they were going to vote for Trump. The future is so unpredictable at this point. I am concerned a little, but optimistic that things go well. States like PA, MI, WI turning red because Clinton took for granted that she would win them. Trump spent alot of time in these states, and proved it was crucial. Obama still has 2 months and I hope they go very very slow.
