Sorry for not knowing which of the many many Louis it was and expecting everyone else to not know as well Other than that obviously a good round for me, keeping us in contention

After a points-heavy, well-balanced previous round, this one is again low on points. Relatively many one point answers, not a lot of big pointers. Though I guess that was something I had to expect with these questions. Let's take a closer look.
1. Name a color.
As I expected, this was a duel between Blue and Red, with Blue eventually taking a 7-5 lead. No other color gave more than 1 point.

2. Name a color that is unlikely to be named in Q1.
Didn't really know what to expect but thought it was an interesting idea. A few colors were mentioned more than once: Purple (4x), Orange (2), Pink (2) and Maroon (2). Interestingly, three colors were mentioned that actually did get named in Q1: Black, White and Yellow.

3. Name something that is hot, other than fire.
A few of you went for kinda the next best thing other than fire: 5 for the sun, 3 for Lava. Coffee and a Stove at least got you 2. Some also went for people, including the obvious Cobie Smulders from TMM, DarkWolf continuing to educate us on Eastern European personalities (Madalina Ghenea, after going with Ivan Aivazovsky as a famous artist in R2) and Nemolito going with the obviously correct answer, which was, of course, cunego59.

4. Name something that is loud.
This was easily the most varied question, with lots of one pointers and only 3 points for the top answer, which was Airplanes. 2 for Music, Fireworks and nothing else. Again, a few people made the list as well, including Americans in general and Quadsas in particular.

5. Name something that smells good.
I was fairly sure that flowers would run away with this, to the point that I was thinking about excluding it from the answers, but this is just another example that sometimes you don't know anything. Flowers ends up with only 2 points, as do Lavender and Vanilla. Perfume easily takes the crown here with 5. Some very specific answers included Grilled pork ribs with baked potato with butter from DarkWolf, and Napalm in the morning from movie buff TMM.

fjhoekie takes my advice from last round and does win this one! 20 out of a potential 24 points are enough. kandesbunzler follows one point behind, then ivaneurope and Marcovdw at 18.
The other newcomer from last round, knockout, went in the opposite direction with a commendable effort to answer all questions (reasonably) with a color. This did not in fact end in a five pointer though, as he got 2 for Coffee as a hot thing. And TMM got 2 points for Maroon (Q2), which leaves us without a five pointer in this game yet ... I have a feeling we might not end it like that, though.
With a second place in this round, kandesbunzler extends their GC lead to 4, leaving them in pole position heading into the finale. roturn and ivaneurope are tied in second place, jandal7 still has a good shot just one point behind them. bbl probably lost out on the chance of the overall win this round, now having to defend 5th place against the rest of the pack, led by SN, FreitasPCM, DarkWolf and df_trek.
I'm with stupid 2021 - Game 8, Round 5
Cycling Geography
1. Name a country with a rich cycling tradition.
2. Name a country that's currently not as successful as it should/could be in pro cycling.
3. Name a country known for a particular type of rider.
4. Name a city that's regularly used in pro cycling races, other than Paris.
5. Name a non-european pro cycling race.
Returning to some more familiar territory for the final round. Send me the answers until Saturday, October 16th, 8pm daily time.
In the context of what knockout was trying to do, Navy is a brilliant answer

The game concludes with the highest-scoring round, largely due to the single highest-scoring answer of the game. Luckily, everyone vying for a top GC placement got that, so it didn't end up skewing the rating much. Other than that, pretty happy with how everything shook out.
1. Name a country with a rich cycling tradition.
I was pretty sure that only two answers would score well, and those two were at the top indeed. Belgium took the crown with 9 points ahead of France with 5. Only one for the Netherlands and the tongue-in-cheek Bahrain.
2. Name a country that's currently not as successful as it should/could be in pro cycling.
Pretty interesting set of answers. Spain ended up with the most points, being named 6 times, then the USA with 4 and France with 3. My answer, though colored by my nationality obviously, would have been Germany, but that was only named once, as were Italy and Russia.
3. Name a country known for a particular type of rider.
Again I was pretty confident that only two countries would be in play, and indeed they were. Again, we have Belgium on top for cobbles/classics, for 8 points, and then Colombia for climbers, for 6 points. Only 1 point for Denmark and Italy.
4. Name a city that's regularly used in pro cycling races, other than Paris.
The most diverse set of answers, but still 6 for the top answer, which was Milano, home to MSR as well as many Giro stages. 3 for Roubaix, 2 for Madrid, 1 each for Liège, Pau, Copenhagen, Oudenaarde and Geraardsbergen.
5. Name a non-european pro cycling race.
This is where I should have excluded one very apparently obvious answer, but I didn't think long enough about it. 13 of 16 of you went with the Tour Down Under. 2 of you, to my delight, thought of Rwanda, though splitting points between the GP de Kigali and the Tour de Rwanda. Another single point to the 2020 Olympics Road Race for Women, which might not have aimed very high.
Standings
With only the second perfect round of this game, roturn takes the win with 42 points. Marcovdw is second with 40 points, then TMM and DarkWolf with 38, all three with 4/5 top answers. The bottom three are comprised of those who missed the TDU, but they were the bottom three of the GC even before this round.
With this round win, roturn actually ends up jumping to the top of the GC! Congratulations! After scoring in the Top 4 of every previous round, going with Denmark as the nation known for a particular rider type costs kandesbunzler a whopping 7 points in this round and they drop to #2.
There a decently large gap to rank three, which ivaneurope defends handily. bbl ends up in 4th, DarkWolf jumps from 8th to 5th, now tied with jandal who did not do all that well this round. The two of them are very closely followed by FreitasPCM, SN and df_trek, who comprise the midfield of the table, with an 11 point drop behind them.

I hope you guys enjoyed the game, even with the long delays after rounds 1 and 2. Happy everyone stayed on board throughout roturn now has the opportunity to start the next game, kandesbunzler would be the next in line.
Thanks for hosting and despite thinking it was done obvious answers I want sure it would be the perfect round as Spain and Down Under were long shots I wasn't too sure about having had California in mind at first.
I hopefully have time for couple new questions tomorrow. If I do, enjoy those, if I don't post new questions, kandesbunzler, feel free to do so yourself the day after.
So I'm running one of these in work, and I wanted some expert opinions on the best approach to this question:
Name a sport that is in the Olympics
Answers received include Athletics, Running, 100 metres.
To combine them, or not to combine?
Certainly running & 100m are the same, 2 points! There's a bigger question on Athletics, because that also includes Long Jump, Discus, Heptathlon etc. If no-one has suggested the non-running Athletics events add it for 3 points, but otherwise it should be treated separately for 1 point.
