OK, I just shouldn't have sent a puncheur here I guess. PCM is completely incapable of picking our most well-suited GC rider in hilly stage races so far. Errazkin should've been supporting Stüssi and Masnada, but these two just don't give a s**t on the entire race. Disappointing, and awfully worrying for the rest of the year.
Congrats to Philipsen for getting some redemption, although I'm pretty disappointed that Bol was anonymous once more on a finale that should suit him far better than many other sprinters.
Thanks for the report to roturn.

I'm happy with 2nd place from Lammertink, he's been our best TTer this season. TGH does okay and sits nicely in 5th, but I need him to stay there or even move up, because it doesn't seem we'll be getting the amount of GC depth I anticipated.
Thanks for the report

On paper, 45th doesn't look great for Izagirre, but to be on par with the likes of Evenepoel, Sepulveda or Brown is perfectly reasonable. 7th in the GC is a great basis to finish in the Top 10. De Bie and Gidich are certainly threatening, but almost a minute to Sagan and more than one to Lutsenko is hopefully enough of a cushion. But a lot can still happen. Thanks for the report and congrats to SN for the nice Wirtgen victory!

Bjerg and Dennis with good time trials. There is at least something here in terms of GC positions. Still shocked how high up Hodeg is after all this

Oh man. If Ioannidis hadn’t dropped away on that one Stage he would have been within an actual shot of the podium.

Not the greatest ride from any of our guys to be honest. Cosnefroy in particular should be doing better than what he did.
But, Conci with a solid enough effort to be 4th as it stands! Got a "rest day" tomorrow but then the final 2 stages will have to be all focus to ensure he doesn't miss any splits. Big opportunity to push for the podium while also trying not to fall outside the Top 5.
Decent depth from Cosnefroy, Thomas and Castrillo but unsure they'll be able to stay where they are.
Thanks for the report and let's hope for an exciting final part to this race!

Terrific job by the team letting Kamna lose all that time for no reason, so now we probably won't have anyone finish in the GC top 50, meanwhile Conci and Hart are in the top 5. Sucks.
Hopefully AKA can perform tomorrow and snag the points jersey to salvage the race for us.

Again anything but an overperformance by Ganna in a TT, but luckily there has been enough of a field spread already that it's enough for second overall now.
So the best case scenario has happened, the TTers lead the puncheurs by a decent margin going into the queen stage.
Hopefully we can keep Filippo at the front there, and may the frequent descents help replenish his (already outstanding) energy reserves to match the puncheurs as well as possible over the decently steep inclines.

Ivo will be worth his weight in gold if he can hold on to a podium here, stage 7 seems to be the toughest of the ones left so I can only hope he doesn't lose time to those around him (even if they are all better!)
Hayter has been a little more frustrating, losing time at both opportunities and therefore forfeiting his chance at leading/winning the white jersey which sucks for us I can't lie.
Congrats to SN for Wirtgen leading the race, I don't think he'll have the quality to lose this race from here but you never know for 100% what will happen...

Perfect stage for Wirtgen and EA, congratulations, SN!
Not much to say here for us. Hoping Zhao can join the sprint battle again on the upcoming stage. |

Well, I guess there go my last tiny hopes that energy stats at least somewhat matter - with Izagirre easily beating Stüssi (not to mention Evenepoel) in that ITT, I can definitely conclude (for myself): Energy stats do not matter at all, can be completely ignored next year.
I guess Errazkin and Bol were our best performers in relation to their TT skills - so we still have two Top 15 contenders. If the race gets at least a little more selective, Errazkin might even have a shot at the Top 10.
Some lessons learnt, but mostly a lot of disillusion in these last three days.
Congrats to EA, good (although expected) win for Wirtgen here.

Fantastic result from Thijssen! Our 2nd sprinter getting a win is huge and it's his first big result for the team
Back to the GC focus with Conci tomorrow
Commiserations to those who had leaders underperform.

Happy surprise to see Zhao in third! Guess his acc stat is working whenever he's able to position himself decent. Happy to see he got it right here, though, clearly we can't expect that as a normal performance, that's definitely an overperformance! |

Not our best performance by AKA there despite having solid positioning. But he does enough to hold (take) the points jersey individually, which was the main goal at this point. Hopefully he can defend it over the last couple of stages. Based on how things have gone so far, it's not impossible for stage 8 to end in a sprint, so we're not out of the woods yet. But it's definitely a good sign at least.
With no GC ambitions left, hopefully we get aggression from Aranburu tomorrow. Hills haven't been creating gaps, but maybe his mountain will be helpful there.

Sprinting still feels more random than ever, so I definitely won't complain about Bol taking 3 Top 10s out of three flat stages. Although I'd obviously have preferred him to be the 79 sprinter who wins this one But his positioning was again at TDU-level, just not good enough to fight for the top spots.
No more words about Coquard and Philipsen, PCM is just doing completely ridiculous things with them. Commiserations especially to SotD, no-one could see such a (repeated) shitshow coming I guess.
Thanks for the reports to roturn, looking forward to the last two - hopefully a bit more spicy - stages

Good day for us because Craddock finally made the split in one of these stages to move up in GC. We need another day like that to finish out the race in a good way.
