Just catching up. Colbrelli was thereabout in stage 2 but definitely way out of his league to make it 2/2, at least he was there. TTs are not our strong suit so nevermind. Amazing performance by Hansen and especially Ji, hanging in there and collecting important points to get the KoM. Massive performance. Would have been even better if he managed to hang on a bit, in the end he could have gotten a nice 2nd place but it wasnt meant to be.. happy with the KoM for a day just to see it get taken by Zordan again. It is a good sign of things to come though that we are this active.

Pretty quiet day with the exception of Novak - congrats Olfardh! Still a long way to go, very happy for Warchol to have nearly made it through the first week under a minute down and safe. Hope we can try stick someone in the break tomorrow though.

Seeing Nerz in yellow always warms my heart <3 I had originally thought of coming here with Ndayisenga, maybe that would have been a good choice, but I anticipated an even stronger startlist. Still a cool race to follow, very curious to see how it all shakes out

Painfully close, but overall very positive ride from Gayral. He's ideal for these kinds of races and stages. Plus we had a strong breakaway presence overall. Top stuff for the sponsors, and we surely will get that stage win here!

Interesting stage there with Novak mixing things up, giving us a first glimpse of what to expect on MTFs! Still quiet from Min, but it's a huge jump on GC and we take hold of the white jersey gives a chance of keeping some sort of pointscoring source (I think?).
Thrilling stage 6 as well with Tryg just snatching it by the tip of the fingernail. Congrats!
Some sprints on the menu for the next couple of stages I guess. Thanks for the reports again Nemo! Wonderful race so far!

At this point I think it's safe to say that our sprint train is not up to scratch. I probably needed to have just a bit faster riders, since we seemingly can't quite bring Saber into a good position. Unfortunately I don't have any faster riders, this was the best I could do and it isn't quite enough. I'm just gonna have to live with that one.
The positive is Zordan is grabbing some pts from the KOM jersey, looks like he picked a good moment and can spend a few days in it.
Congrats to Kraftwerk, looks like another dominant ToA from you guys

Thanks for the report, a nice sprint by Colbrelli to come with 5th, coul dhave probably gone better if the sprint lasted a bit longer. Gratz to Haller!

Kraftwerk chased hard and got a lot closer than I expected and their hard work was rewarded with a 4th for Haller which gave him back the green jersey. Congrats to liefwarrior for the break win and thanks to Nemo for the will they/won't they exciting report.

Perfect leadout from Rumac who dropped Haller off with 600m to go meaning Haller has the energy left to finish it off. Really did not expect this result, the rival sprinters didn't seem to get on the back of the Kraftwerk train. Thanks for the thanks and for another exciting report Nemo, still not confident Haller can hang on so its a nerve-wracking read

Nothing out of stage 6 is a bit unfortunate since I thought that was the one that suited us, but it was a very exciting breakaway day with the tenuous chase!
Bouglas came up clutch on stage 7 with the podium, great to see. He's been in a great position for a couple of sprints now, taking Haller's wheel each time. Certainly the best place to be for most, although, rightfully, Haller is much stronger and Bouglas hasn't been able to come around. Still this was much better than completely fading like he did last time. 3rd is great for a third tier guy without any support.
Two more chances coming up. Hoping for more of what we just saw.

If it wasn't for us not getting anything from sprints, then this would've been a very good 1st week. Unfortunately I thought we would have a similar amount of points scored to Kraftwerk. Oh well

Thanks for the intermediate points, Nemo! I find it especially impressive that Kraftwerk scored more than 1/3 of their points "just" from wearing special jerseys, if I counted that correctly 
While ToA should easily propel Kraftwerk out of even the extended relegation danger zone, the first week might be slightly concerning especially for the bottom 3, while Tryg and Carrefour had a rather solid start. However, GC and final jersey points are obviously not included and can be a big game changer. Looking forward to see how things look like in the real mountains!
But although Kraftwerk seem well on the way to kind of repeat last year's domination, I honestly doubt they'll score as many points, given that there now are 20 instead of just 13 teams like in 2020.

Definitely not a bad first week for us. Stage points are a must in a 3 week race like this since you only get GC points once. Sterobo's stage win was big for that, so we're on track.
That being said, our team isn't exactly built for top stage placings - Warbasse will need some luck and form to actually place highly on mountain stages instead of just limiting time losses. It will take a lot to stay near the top.

Cross winds causing chaos for teams trying to get a train organised, left Haller isolated. Very lucky he was behind Nelson and Saber so he could get some protection before launching into the wind. Second place gives him a useful lead in the points which he will need if he is to hold off the GC guys for the green jersey.
Costagli lost 3'36" today, no hope of a minor GC place he is 100% domestique for Nerz now.
Congrats to BBL, impressive fast finishing from Bouglas.
Thanks for the reports and points update Nemo. Looks like Kraftwerk are well on the way to the target 500 points. Keeping Yellow and Green jerseys will definitely help keep the points rolling in.

Catching up on 4 stages. Main McCormick take away is Kuss looked strong on the second mountain, no time gain but a stage podium is nice and good to see him active. Up to 13th on GC, question is how much further can he progress.
Tivani too far down the sprint list as I feared. Haller does love this race.

Amazing result for Bouglas. After being noticeably weaker in earlier sprint stages, he has come alive the last two. A stage win is way way behind my expectations for him obviously. But that's why having a cheap minimum wage sprinter is always worth it in PCM. You never know when he'll strike.
A few things probably helped him here. The slight uphill may have let him benefit from his climbing backups, and his positioning was great once again, especially hanging back a bit later given the wind. But really, I wonder how important it was that he didn't contest the intermediate sprint. It was very close to the finish, and especially given the wind strength, it was quite a risk for some of the top guys to sprint there without a guarantee of full recovery. So maybe Bouglas was fresher from that. Or maybe he just drew the lucky ticket of the sprinters today. Either way, amazing performance.
Bouglas did his job, now for the contenders. I expect a breakaway stage tomorrow given how far the climb is from the finish, but obviously we need to be very alert regardless.
