Not a bad result from the team. Would have been even better had we not dropped our leader.

I hope we're saving up the really good days for the mountains.
We're still on par for the course, don't get me wrong, but certainly not more than that.
At least Sicard and Kudus lost some extra time, but particularly the latter scares me at only +23s.
Congrats Generali! Obviously your team was made for days like these.

Good day for us. No complaints about 6th in a PT TTT, and we only lost real time on a few teams. Guldhammer is still up there and everyone looks to be in decent shape still.
Congrats to Generali!

For the sake of racing, I'm kinda glad that Herklotz is not yet in pink. Might just be a matter of time but for now it gives us the illusion of thrill

Two straight stages none in the Top140, that's more like it.

Was hoping to see my team active in breaks and so Sergent was a good solution on such stage even though it was pretty logical that they didn`t stand a chance in the first week.
Had no expectations to see Minali joining the sprints, seeing him in the overview though was fantastic. Then never expected him to go up to 5th even! Fantastic performance by him.
Congrats bbl for a nice wildcard win beating Kemboi for the first time while Eislers not as strong as you would want.
Thanks for the report. |

Wow love that from JVZ, a day in blue is awesome for us, amazing! Congrats bbl on the stage, super cool to see the PCT team taking a win!

Im quite worried by the fact we don't even try to get into breaks. What are we here for then?

Still nothing for us in the race, but awesome to see AKA taking a win. Congrats, bbl! Let's hope it will inspire SKA for the rest of the season

Van Poppel looked good in the build up, but a disappointing result in the end.
Great to see Carlsberg gettind their maiden GT win.

WOW!
The surgence of AKA continues! It was his time to have a good day, and he sure has had a lot of them this year! From CT bust to GT stage winner in the course of a year. I really couldn't have asked for more. It means so much to say we have a GT stage win in our name forever, and it means even more to know it was our homegrown kid who did it, the only rider left from our inaugural season, 8 years ago.
The secret has just been positioning. He's been in the right spot a lot more this year. Not necessarily the right spot logically, but the spot the game wants. Basically, with his skillset, he can do quite well if he tags on to the back of the main sprinters pod that always forms, and launches just after the first wave guys. He did it again here, and he came forward at just the right moment. Or at least, he was close enough for the judges to decide not to give Kemboi another one.
Otherwise, it's been a weird race sprint wise. Kemboi's consistency is great to see, but a bit confusing because I'm not sure what's causing it. On the other hand, Eislers continues to disappoint inexplicably. Today he had a perfect leadout and at least this time, it didn't seem to leave him too early, yet he still faded hard despite his big engine. Not sure what his issue is. Stats wise he's got a very similar makeup to AKA, only better, so it can't be his acceleration.
Thank you all for the congrats, and thanks for the continued great reports redordead!

Hsu is really nowhere in the sprints. Quite annoying. At least the TTT was quite decent. It was already clear that with my lineup I couldn't repeat the win of last year. Only unfortunate that we were ranked last of the 3 teams which were 32 seconds away. |

Seeing a dominant leadout train succeed used to be one of the coolest things to see in pcm. So sad that it is so rare these days

Congrats bbl! Lovely to see your team succeed on the biggest stage, a moment to cherish indeed.
Tomorrow might be the most important stage of the race, as getting into pink is imperative to our strategy. Come on Silvio!

Week 1 of the Giro = 5 points.
It will be a long race
Too bad the favorites wanted to settle things, as Mavrikakis obviously had the form of his life here to finish 7th. He would have won the stage and claimed the KOM had he not been caught.
On the positive side of things we are aggressive and now no longer at the very bottom of the Team GC. We just have to keep pushing for minor points and then some day we might hit a reasonable result.

103 Giovanni Carboni Aegon - Peroni + 10'06
What happened here? Wow. That was bad.
Full support team around him in Zardini, Koep and even Sergent! Carboni must have just sat up and didn`t go I guess.
Ciccone due to the breakaway being my best rider now, which often is a bad sign.
Can only become better, now Carboni has to attack on other stages to compensate todays loss obviously. |

And so the Herklotz show starts!
It's been a slow week for us. I think we're still at 0 points, so would have liked to have a guy in the break. Nesset with a fairly decent result. Looks like he's our GC guy, so I still cross my fingers for attack from Sosa, Serrano and Lastra.
