First race, first win - not a bad start from Gonzalez Losing the lead on stage 2 on s.t. isn't great, but well, he definitely already surpassed our expectations here!
Now it's up to the uphill guys to get some GC points in!

I'm not sure what to say about the first results of my team! I'm completely speechless.
First time in ICL, first race, first stage and win immediately. OMG
- Stage win for Edvald Boasson Hagen and 4th place at the and at La Tropicale Amissa Bongo and win in second stage Tour of Oman
- Pieter Serry was second at Christchurch - Akaroa,
- Simon Å pilak 2nd and 3rd in two stages and 6th overall and he is the second climber in our team,
After our really not good year in MG, I wasn't expected this in ICL but if not MG that at least here my team will be able to get nice results.

Awesome to be in those positions at the back again as well and join you there.
We were always going to be quite far back after those first two races, but February should be a better month for us.

I think the prestige rankings accurately reflect our first month
31 | - | Giant Asia Racing Team | 1 | U23 | 95 | 32 | - | Baku Synergy Plus | 17 | WT | 87 |
Luigi and I need to start off a club for people whose junior teams are better than the World Tour ones.
Koejoe finished off nicely in Indonesia, just behind Fritsch who he stuck with for the entire tour. Susilo with a win in his home country is particularly good, that was one of our U23 team's major race goals for the season. It seems a bit odd that one day on the attack means that Wongsa earned more points than either of the other two, but second in the KoM is clearly worth more points than a decent finish overall or a stand-alone stage win.

Oh, so close... so close. Quite an eventful finish of Tour d'Indonesia for us. Lander coming 2nd on stage 5 was a pleasant surprise. Also it was very good to see young Soler in the breakaway on the same stage (finally getting a glimpse of our beloved kit). Yelko Gomez finishing 9th on stage 6 and securing 15th in the GC was pleasing too. Especially since we didn't come with any expectation for the first month of racing.
In Oman we are waiting for the next 2 stages. The team was not made for the flat stages and we look with interest on how the mountainous and hilly ones would unfold.
In Algrave Guillaume Boivin is making our team proud finishing 5th and 8th on the first 2 stages. It seems that although we entered the ICL on the last stretch before the deadline we are not shying away from putting together a half-decent first season for our team. |

Bad performance by the U23s, we failed on every terrain.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Not too bad in Bishkek for our first U23 race. I'll gladly take a sixth place and some breakaway action

The usual clusterfuck in Bishkek, this race is so random there's no point in getting it, especially the last stage.

I like the race
I think the randomness is also due to there being so many similarly strong riders in the U23 tour. The riders that did well here aren't any that couldn't it have been expected of I think. |

Suntory have been lucky in Bishkek and continued this with 1st and 4th in GC but no third man to beat Pureblack to the team win.
Thanks for the reports and amazing pace!

Well, what a start to the season for us. Leading the CT rankings, and Top 3 in the Prestige rankings is a great start. I think we probably raced more than most however, so others may catch up a bit more in February. Regardless, its been a great start, and apart from one or two races, mostly being flat or cobble races, I have selected a lot of mountainous races so we should be scoring decently in most races this season, which plays in the teams climbing depth.
Nice to see Rizzioli take 2nd at Bishek as well. I guess it was a bit random, but can't argue with a good result.

Only racing for us in February so far was in Bishek, where the U23 squad did absolutely nothing. Not surprised at the results given our lack of talent, but I'm hoping we join more breaks in the future.

That last stage in Bishkek seemed pretty random, so I guess I can be more or less satisfied with Ollero's 10th place in GC. On a lucky day, he can even win that one, but well...
Taking last of four s.t. riders in the time trial hurts a bit as well, especially when you finish on s.t. with the stage winner... But I'm sure the luck will be on our side in other races

Vuelta a Mallorca posted including video for the mountain stage.
Very successful race for Allianz and Colombo who'll hopefully ride for Italo some day |

Nice 4th place by Garau who will hopefully ALWAYS ride for Liberty Alves looks super sexy in his black rainbow jersey but slightly disappointing performance by him, then again he is more of a climber than a puncheur so Top 20 is sorta okayish. Nice to also have Jaime Garcia in U25 jersey for a dayy
2nd half of Oman and Algarve uploaded, each with a video. + Video of stage 1 Oman added, I forgot that I made it.

So, to recap - we've taken the team's classification in both Algarve and Oman, 2 stage wins (back-to-back) in Algarve and the overall win in Algarve from Ludvigsson.

Hoped for a bit better in the Algarve TT, but the GC top-10 by Quaade surprised me in a good way. Nice to see both my guys doing their best in the video, which led to a second in the stage and eighth in GC for Andersen and a second in GC for Rui Costa, which is definitely better than Christchurch. Slagter seemed to be on fire though

Wow, the Irish NC I made Bennett is really, really, ugly.
He was very close on stage 4, and it was nice to see Houle attack on stage 3. Other than that, a pretty empty race for us in Mallorca. Hoped for a little more consistency from Sam. His first two stages were pretty disappointing.
