So far so good - Kemboi had a nice sprint on Stage 3, only to fall victim to the bad AI on Stage 4, and Cattaneo and Carthy have very much limited their losses. Hopefully Cattaneo can stay within striking distance of Denifl and fight for a top 5, while I'm torn between whether Carthy should be aiming for a top 20 or going for the KoM. |

Not ideal to see my 3 GC riders being placed pretty far behind in the "uphill sprint", in which Olivier unfortunately lost those 44s.
Might just mean, that he is the one attacking in 3rd week as normally I had expected him to be the strongest of those 3 in those sprints.
Good performance by Keinath though and Velits just around those direct rivals.
Congrats to DubbleDekker for another stage win in this year`s GTs. Not the expected one surely, but always nice to get a break surprise and even GC lead now.
Those being a bit ahead are out of their level anyway, so matching the next is just fine.
And obviously also others have lots even more such as Galta (after working for Taaramae though) or riders such as Kirsch, Lunke, Kruijswijk, Vasyliv, Preidler etc. that could become another bunch of attackers later on. |

Good ride by Brambilla to finish in that group.

Quite annoyed that Sakalou got dropped from the break in the beginning sonce this looked like his perfect opportunity for stage glory
Lopez did well here

We're struggling. From a very egoistic point of view, another breakaway win only makes the decision to put Taaramae here worse. The problem is that it doesn't look like we want to do anything about it and actually chase breakaways properly.
Congratulations on the win, though, DD! |

Thanks!!
After a completely anonymous start to the Vuelta this is a great way to bounce back. Impressive win and coup by Jacques! Happy for him that he was able to add a Vuelta stagewin and red jersey to his palmares at age 32.
Now defending this jersey will obviously be very hard for a 75 MO, 73 HI climber. But I'm sure we'll try anyway.

Would be great if we could get in the winning breakaways, but the team is doing a great job supporting Tenorio in the peloton. Not sure how long that will last over three weeks of racing. But, so far so good. Still in the hunt.

Krizek!!!
More or less what I expected from Latour & everyone else, my team will hopefully keep these attacks up throughout the Vuelta.

Great effort by Gillett! A bit too long mountain in the end, but no big surprise that. Nesset also doing quite good and decent from Iturria. A positive first mountain stage.
Congrats DD!

Almost the perfect stage.
Eiking in the break had me like, good stage but maybe too mountaineous.
Van der Hugenhaben joining then was perfect as he has the alround skills, which he also proved by attacking later.
Unfortunately he was caught in the end as it wasn`t like the stage before, which was one of two not perfect things here. The other is the lower ambition to go for the KoM here.
Having all my 3 leaders in the first group then is great which also gives me the team ranking for now. None of them really in the first half but this is okay for now. Later though I hope to also get a few higher stage results.
Congrats to ember. A well deserved win and much needed one!
Tenorio, Denifl, Pluchkin and Kritskiy not just on this stage but also in general seem to be the biggest opposition.
Cattaneo losing on the hill stage is not ideal for Farfetch with Carthy also hit. Just like Galta though, this is probably good news for my trio as direct rivals.
And last but not least the 75/72 mo/hi duel of Koep vs Stüssi once more goes to 300 % to Stüssi. Secondary stats clearly on his side, but still quite impressed by the amount of gap in between them in general on any stage/race. |

Very attentive racing by Keizer not to loose time on this dreaded hill stage, good stuff. Hopefully he stays strong like this.
also: awesome reporting by Tamijo, I especially loved the edited profile at the beginning with the names in there!

Why the hell do we waste energy pulling the pack without a GC contender. Go in the freaking break instead

Rein back on track! Congrats ember
Another day in the break for Vink and a solid reward with the KoM jersey. Would be cool if he could keep it a couple of days, but that will probably require him to get in the break tomorrow as well. Solid riding from Nesset and Iturria also.

Congratulations to Cattaneo on managing to lose 2 minutes without anyone noticing - particularly with Keizer finishing in the main group, a rider he should be pretty even to. Now to hope he doesn't completely implode from here on so that he's worth something when I have to sell him following our inevitable relegation! |

I was both surprised and very happy to see an Air France rider in a breakaway on that first stage. That almost never happens. And unfortunately, it was a one hit wonder...
However, glad to see Quintana in top-10. He failed miserably in the Giro, so it'd be nice to see something, anything from him in this race. |

Tenorio in great form at the moment. A solid second place. This feels weird having a legit shot to win our program's first grand tour. Keep the legs turning Tenorio!

Thank you, tastasol!
Very nice work by Taaramae to grab a second stage win and even more importantly the red jersey
Also the bonifications could prove vital this Vuelta seeing how close it actually is with one mountain stage and a difficult hilly stage done. 18 riders within two minutes will force us to be more alert and keep future breakaways close, assuming we get to the third week with 20 riders or so within 6-8 minutes or so.
Also very nice to see Tvetcov do such good work as Taaramae's key lieutnant in that stage. Fingers crossed he will continue riding like this, as it gives us a valuable card looking at the team classification and minor GC placings. On the other hand worrying to see Galta's no show, but who knows. Maybe we're doing a proper Ineos thing and saving him for the third week where he does a Poels. At least that's what I have to hope
Thank you for another in-depth report, Tamijo. You're doing a stellar job! And I fully agree with Croatia14 on the edited profiles. |

At first, thanks for reporting a GT!
Solid start for Haig, who will hopefully be strong enough to fight for another GT Top-10 after his partly strong Giro outing. Also good to see Bayly active already. I guess those guys like him will be our only chance for a stage win, so the lads behind Haig will hopefully join breakaways as often as possible.
