Great overview on the cobble stars!
Really shows how the quality of my cobbles squad has gone down compared to previous seasons. This is Roelandts last season before declining, I hope he can make it count. Pintzopoulos will step up then!
Also think Phinney would have deserved to be one of the featured riders, as 2nd in the cobbles world cup last season. |

Tried to strengthen my cobbled squad quite hard last year, but there was just no quality FAs available (couldn't bring in Amador) and Transfers on Cobblers were, let's put it like this, overcrowded (Oss, van Avermaet). Like this we may have a difficult time on the cobbles. We'll see - maybe next year we see a major change in our cobbles department?

It's the norm, I guess, currently we only have 23 riders with COB 76+, just 10 with 78+. Not easy to strengthen your cobbles squad.

4th place? Will be interesting this year especially with many WT races we will participate in. If anything I would say CCC will be on 5th spot at the end. Why? I already was 7th and 6th. Time for a 5th place. |

Solid argument, dominox.
I have to disagree with croatia's prediction, since it's a far cry from my predictions. As a newbie I can't say much, but for Aviva it will be very hard to be up there with the best. We might score regularly, but it'd be a fluke if we win anything. And as for our opponents, it'll be very interesting to see how they all do. I see a lot of strength in all of them, I really couldn't rank them subjectively.

Home race in the WT, hope for some attacking goodness there, have a nice enough squad. Mallorca sees Bennett get some leadership, hope JAV and Albini can do decent there as well as former rider Vanendert. Bishkek it'd be nice to see our guys doing decently, Astier doesn't have bad stats for a hilly stage race.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Man so many good races for us this month, where to begin
Algarve should be the priority, Tony Martin's debut and he seems to be the clear favourite with the long TT. Mallorca is a gamble, but Kozhatayev and Jeanesson may have good performance.
Opting out of Oman seems like a good choice, huge startlist and we will be using those RD's more efficiently (I hope). San Luis is also a good race for Kozhatayev, he shold perform well in there, and in the National Capital Tour we'll be aiming for victory once more, with again both our mountain leaders in there it's hard to ignore some good odds.
I bet on:
Mallorca: Polanc
Oman: Costa
Algarve: Martin
San Luis: Nerz
National: Kozatayev
Good luck for everybody!
PS: Awesome to see the mini-shirts

Looks like there could've been easier races for Herklotz to attend than Oman, but stage 1 should suit him if the AI keeps him at the front, and then it's about daily form on the mountain.
Expectedly no real support for him, but then again the stages don't require much. Could be an issue for stage 4 though if there's chasing duty, that's always one for the break in PCM.
The rest of the races are likely going to be boring for Bosch, maybe Auer can get something out of the Australia trip if the mountain stage is ridden hard enough to offset the TT. Small chance for an upset result in San Luis as well. Breakaways and wheel hopping will be the general strategy.

Mohoric needs to step up in Pais Vasco. And we look great with our set-up for Mallorca with Polanc, Vanendert and great support!
For our U23 Alves the man to go for, he looks well set for the season!

So... you are saying Anacona/Nowaczek & Ulissi/Nowaczek are amongst main favourites? Knowing ability of my riders it will be really good if they will finish in the top 10 |

February is a super quiet month for us with only Pais Vasco and even there i have a weak squad with i think Geyer and Boom as leaders. Would have loved to see Contador here but after deciding to go with the two GTs that make the better story I simply couldnt pick this over LBL/Lombardia/mountain classic.
Hopefully this is the last month without any CSC riders listed in the previews

The field in Oman looks tough for a CT.2, but a podium should be in reach for Caruso. The only other race this month for us is Mallorca where we'll have to hope for some breakaway action to get some points.

San Luis is a must win race for Moreno, and with Pelucchi being also the top sprinter, i hope for GC win + several stage wins. I know that riders like Henao and especially Nerz, could benefit from a favorable MON/HIL ratio, and be a really strong challenge. Anyway, our mon/hil depth should bring Moreno enough support.
In Oman we have Rabottini to fight for a top5 in GC. He's quite similar to the other riders that will be fighting from 4th place to 10th, so daily form will decide those positions. I think we have Sanz for the sprints
And in Mallorca i think we don't have a good squad to fight agains those WT teams, so hope for breakaways
Pd: After seeing Pelucchi as the top sprinter in San Luis, it feels good to finally have sprinters in a forum game

Single race in February. That too Pais Vasco. Hills won't be good for us this year. We get to watch as everyone else gets to have all the fun

Little late to the party: A quick U23 preview
I just noticed we haven't got any preview for the U23 so I made a very simple one. Since the stat range is so small in the U23 I decided against weighted averages and just calculated the average AVG of the 8 best riders per U23 team. Having more than the minimum number of riders in theory makes for more scoring chances, but I'm not accounting for that.
| Team | AVG8 | No. | 1 | Suntory Orangina | 71.3 | 9 | 2 | Bora - Argon18 Development Team | 70.2 | 8 | 3 | Podravka Cycling Team | 70.0 | 10 | 4 | Air China U23 | 69.9 | 9 | 5 | Leopard - Evonik Youth Project | 69.8 | 8 | 6 | Centrica Cycling Academy | 69.4 | 10 | 7 | Project: Africa | 69.4 | 8 | 8 | Finair | 68.9 | 9 | 9 | PureBlack Racing | 68.5 | 8 | 10 | Deutsche Post - DHL | 68.5 | 8 | 11 | Silber DT | 68.2 | 9 | 12 | Giant Asia Racing Team | 68.2 | 9 | 13 | Team Colpack U23 | 68.1 | 8 | 14 | Team PrivatBank | 68.0 | 9 | 15 | Reizen Waes - Pinkpop Development Team | 68.0 | 9 | 16 | La Fundación | 67.8 | 8 | 17 | Polestar Cyan Junior Team | 67.7 | 9 | 18 | Équipe Cycliste Développement Citroën | 67.5 | 10 | 19 | Statoil Development Team | 65.9 | 8 |
DaveTwoBob's goal of winning the U23 this season seems justified.
