Sonnery’s been performing minor miracles so far considering he has no support whatsoever.
Now for the mountains...

Absolutely enjoying Martinez at the moment, riding on his own for most of the race and sealing good results |

Good to see Oscar Gatto back in competition on stage 3, getting small but important ranking points again.
Congratulations to sammyt93 with a great win
also @whitejersey with the overnight race lead, even if it wont last with that riders, but who knows maybe another
Thanks to SN for another great report.

First three sprint stages before the real racing kicks off have provided some entertaining sprint racing. No dominant train present (some lead-out riders seen are in reality very weak for the job), and that has led to a mix up of results with no domination. Nice to see the victories have been spread around a bit, and only the Balkan lads have missed out in terms of Karnulin time loss (surprising) during the flat stages (shame).
Congrats to the victorious teams thus far, and look forward to seeing how the mountain battles are going to play out.
Don't see the potential for many teams to score 100+ ranking points (i.e. 10 ppRD), hence glad not to be in this particular bun-fight!

Looks like an exciting race so far! Good to see Sauber pick up a victory, too

Angarita! Has done everything I'd hoped here and then some finding a podium. So far the flat part of this race has been good to us, now let's see if the climbs can also be good.

Nice to see Salleh pick up our first stage win of the season here, hopefully I have planned him well enough to be able to beat his tally of 4 from last season.
Thanks everyone for the congratulations, I said I'd be happy with 1 stage win so now we can sit back and watch the fireworks on the mountains and maybe sneak something out of the hilly stage near he end.

Well, flat stages are over! But before the real mountain start, we have a couple of not so hard stage where the main objetive is to "kill" Suaza. If he survives S4, we are really screwed with our Win Goal

I really need a "facepalm" emoji for this...
Great to see that 1-2-3 in KoM, but also a shame to see both Prado -what a ride! Clearly today's MVP - and Serrano being dropped in the final km, with makes me lose the chance to win Teams standing.
At least it was Anton winning, and not a big GC favourite, although it made me lose the bet on Bennett - i would be leading the Betting ranking -
And Suaza in the group... not the best stage GC-wise
Great report SN! Glad to see so much Repsol jersey during the stage

Tough first stage for us climbing... only Mannion able to keep pace with the leaders. Beccerra should have at least been there with him. Very concerning going forward for us.
Little scared when that first group of 11 got away with Valls in it, glad to at least rejoin them.

We might as well just take our bikes and go home. Noone would notice us missing I think. I think we have had one breakaway attempt so far this race and we can't sit with the big guys. Hopefully we get something out of this race quite a waste if we don't score anything.

I wasn't expecting the race blow up in the first climb, but from what i see Rujano reacted perfectly as he closed the gap. And Sólis getting through what could've been a devastating stage for him is also a very good sign.
Great report SN! Keep'em coming

Had my money on Bennett, who did well, but this is an interesting constellation for Xero now.
Repsol with some great work there. I assume Power did his job until some point, so that's good to see

You can actually see him pulling from the bunch in the first image of Repsol riders in the front - he is #13.

Igor Antón you wonderful wonderful man After a fantastic Cristobal performance this is a great result. Not sure how we'll handle him in yellow but for now time to enjoy it! The triple threat working well is great to see, Bennett hopefully ready to pounce back in fifth. Shame to not drop Suaza among others, race still wide open with Penasa, Cataldo and Valls all on form too.

Close stage! Good to see Xero get in there and taking another win wonder how PCM will handle Anton in Yellow though
