What a way to bounce back by the team! On the front all day and then incredible teamwork for the leadout which was necessary to beat Kump. PCM rarely manages to do a good logic leadout on these hillier stages but this was set up perfectly. Helps that there aren't any non-punchers that can cause any trouble in the middle of the train.
Modolo in the lead now hopefully he can stay at the front with a good team around him.
Thanks for all the congratulations guys!

what the hell was that train set-up...Mansilla and Jans swapping places against normal PCM logic destroying the lead-out. Seems like a loooong season awaiting us...
this was the one stage all season made for us to win and we didn't - down is the way we go it seems...missing out on yellow is crucial for Kump, we would've needed every point possible...and that also means no bonus for the further stages, so no good positioning on the hills - this race busted for us now already

On another note: love to see Grega in the Top5! He maybe should've stayed in our team for this stage

And (sorry for a 3rd post) Quevedo injured sucks. This is a desaster.

Great leadout for Modolo, congrats to Spilak and thanks for anther great report roturn.
If you look carefully in the background you can see the Kraftwerk train who appear to be targetting a top 10 finish and not a win. Come on guys we will need better positioning than that to get our top 5 goal.
At least the team are all safe, time for Flügel to earn that transfer fee tomorrow.

Pelucchi doing great here, but we needed the GC points unfortunately.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Congrats Spilak, looks like Ferrero will crush it for another year then
Ulissi/Theuns combo didn't really work at all in this stage apparently. Looking at the results it clearly should have been Theuns to be assigned leadership duties, but eventually it just looked like the AI got confused and just had both the guys not doing anything. Oh well, 12th/14th is not too bad considering someone like Kreder who should have top 5'd this quite comfortably didn't quite show up either.
Thanks roturn

You're the most defeatist manager in the MG by quite far, jeez

Well at least the team is showing initiative and fighting spirit to compensate for slightly disappointing results. Wait no they're not

Nice to see two Aussies (Walker, Watson) doing quite well with some smart and aggressive racing.
Ulissi a bit unlucky, but those others played it smart that way. Schreurs looks strong so far, but still a way to go here. Kump surely a GC threat with his ride today. Should bring his manager some confidence after his team's season already went down the drain earlier today

Stage 2 was not as good as it looked. Kinoshita was one of the names mentioned as a pre race favourite, so 17th is disappointing. 4th on the 3rd stage is also a slight disappointment, but atleast Kinoshita was in the top group and if he was slightly stronger could have challenged for the win.

From the few CT race discussions I looked at in the past season, I would have to say its BBL

Pretty much sums up the opening 5 race days for Podium Ambition. Minor shadows of action, ultimately soft and unthreatening. Granted it's only 5RD so far, plenty of time to get going proper and at least we're not falling over.

Better there from Caruso and Zingle. Zingle up to 13th in the GC but I do hope he can break into the Top 10. Meanwhile it'd be awesome to see a long distance attack from Caruso given he's about 5 minutes back in the GC.

Kinoshita missing bonification seconds is pretty much perfect and a strong performance for Schreurs to take the stage win. Froome surprises me alot with a 2nd on the less favorable hill stage on his calendar, so I'm pretty happy with this.
16 seconds is doable to catch on Willunga Hill for sure and 12 seconds head start on Kinoshita means Froome just have to keep up with his pace. Kump surely is a threat, too, so hope that Mohs, Guardini and the other sprinters can challenge him, as I think he will struggle on Willunga.

Always good to see gaps on hill stages such as these, sets the race up nicely for Willunga.
