Wrong stage Weiss....
Good to see Martinez limit his loss so far, he can gain a lot of time in the time trial. And Drapac survived the mountain, so he can battle on the next three stages!

Nice Garby, good to see a dane back in front of GC race even though it is only at CT level it is still very good to see
De la Cruz was my predicted winner and did also come in close, so looks good

Great winner. Really happy for bbl, who finally could promote having a very good CT scorer it seems. |

horrible move by Anton...why don't you wait for the final climb on that stage?

Yeah, Anton with some pretty rubbish tactics here. With 61 dh it would be hard to stay away.
Great start for Garby though, gratz BBL.

Kung really isn't performing well in this race, being one of the strongest punchers but not being able to do anything on the hills, then doing worse than Zoidl on the first mountain stage.
Hopefully that means he will now work to limit the Austrians losses and help him get a top 10 GC or if he loses more time then maybe he will go for a stage win later on in the race.
Garby's got a nice stage win there for BBL, it's a shame he's still so young as otherwise Kung would likely be favourite for the youth jersey.
Mat Senan lost a lot of time which might mean he can try and close down Santambrogio's KOM lead now, safe to say his impressive rides on the hilly stages didn't translate across to the mountain which means we aren't in with a chance of getting the teams classification anymore.

Could see this coming, but Garby probably didn't gain enough in this stage to realistically make up for the time he'll lose in the TT. He sure has 3 more - better - chances to do so, but well.
Anton loses more time than he should have here, doesn't bode well for Isostar, but I still see him as one of the best podium contenders. Very good performance by Hacecky though who could really surprise here.
Top reporting The Rider, congrats bbl.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!
Very happy to see us work very well and take the stage win! Garby showed that at least today, he was the best climber. I really hope that continues going forward in the next 3 mountain stages.
And no, that's not enough time for the TT. But if we can repeat that kind of performance for at least 2 more of the mountain stages, he would have a chance. As is I'm very happy with the lead and youth classification. Looks like the team will have some effect which is fortunate. Hopefully this is a sign my season is turning around.
And they said I shouldn't have sent him.

Mauro making the wise decision of tanking today in GC... in order to put more fuel in the tank for the polka-dots!
Just too good!
Seriously though, very pleased with perfomances of Poorseydi and Gaimon, and glad Garby justified the hype for BBL and Carlsberg.
All in all, good first four stages.

Well not a good sprint there. Not sure why Razzie was leading Garby out instead of Docker but that 9th place leads me to believe we could have had a good result if the train made more sense.

Guillen!
Surprised he could win a long stage like this, but it really shows how good he is at CT-level. And that he should have gone for way more than 200k in a package deal, but thats you guys missing out

I'm actually disappointed with second place. Who would've though that?

Clarkey solid podium, seemed to be behind the big two and never enough speed to catch up. Also good to see Hirschlein seemingly recovering for an assault later on.
