Great to see Howard finally sprinting and 3rd place is a decent result. Hope for more results like that in this race now indeed!
The news that König and Sagan lost some time may not be so bad after all. It may allow them to attack in the early stages - and it seems like stage wins would be more valuable for us than 30th or 40th place in GC.

2nd from Zabel is really good. He had no chance on beating Swift there. This makes me positive considering the future sprint stages. If he could get one stage win that would be great for my team

Yep, too bad König had to put an end to it on the second stage, wind/split are a different story though; Didn't expect time loses already after yesterdays stage, but now there are already a lot of riders who could get a free break away card. Will be interesting to see if the race leader's team will allow breaks.

Vanderbiest again up there, but really his best chance will be after the first mountain stages, with his higher MO and REC compared to some of the others. |

Well I am over the hope that Guerao will actually participate in these sprints.
Could it be a faulty pilot fish? Not sure why Santos would get him up there but perhaps I am missing something.
mohs again and yeah I thought maybe Guerao could compete with him as he did a bit last year. But no for some reason I gave Qatar like no sprint situation. Complete planning disaster from me then here like Giro.
I guess I can only hope some sprinters exit race early and somehow AI re formats itself following that.
GC about too get interesting too.
Thanks tsmoha as said in reporters you and roturn are different breed!

Another flat stage passed with no difficulties.
Soon we'll know if Gesink can be a podium contender here or not.

Not a good result to be 11th, but Tzortzakis really position himself poorly these days. Only on stage 1 did he actually manage to find a wheel.
I can see points just ticking into the accounts of Vesuvio sand Becherovka here, with us getting slim to none. Not a good start in that aspect.
Lecuisinier is still looking content, although stage 4 really does not suit him well. I can only hope that he delivers with some help from Koretzky.

Better, Cicero needs to do that on consistent basis, but still was hoping he could get a win here..he's still winless this year, unlikely now he'll win anything here. But promising result. Now Froomey show us something tomorrow plis.

Up and down, up and down.
Great wins for Mohs in opener and stage 3, but silly finish in stage 2, when he made tremendous job for Swift as a great lead out man
Thanks for preview and first reports, tsmoha, great job as always!

Steady work by two of the consistent top tier sprinters here. Can't remember the last time Swift or Mohs were befallen with the "not a sprinter" AI fuck up. Or some other stupid reason. Unlucky Guereo for not being included in amongst the sprinters. It's more than frustrating not knowing how the AI is going to perform year on year. Makes planning a complete and utter joke. It's down to luck!
Better than luck though, is good fortune - I was dreading stage 2's report, but somehow Costagli and Scarponi both made the split and so haven't yet lost time. Hopefully they can do something in the mountains!

Gjølberg now third in GC after grabbing another two intermediate sprints
Guldhammer and the whole bunch safe through the stage, can't ask for more. Hopefully our Danish captain is up for it on the hilly stage now, he really needs a head start for the TT.
Congratulations again to Mohs and beagle, really getting their train to work here. |

Now give us some hard stages so we can get rid of many of the best sprinters. Zabel has been doing so well til now that I would love to see him sprint when they are gone
Well done by the green train (getting used to this after some seasons here)

We got trough the first flat stages without any problems, hope i can say the same in a few days after the first hilly stages. If there are gaps, i hope they stay reasonable and not 5min on 20km.

Cunego \o/
But Jan, you are allowed to attack over the hills. In fact, that's precisely why you're here...

Gesink, you're supposed to attack in the hills, not staying in the pack and have the team do all the work for you.
At least we didn't let Cunego get too far but I doubt he is a challenger for the top 5 with so many kilometers of TT here.

So close to a stage win and the GC lead Stlll gaining a little time before the TT always helps, and its a sign that he is strong on the hills here as well.

I'm happy to see Roux in the KoM lead and also to see Pinot and Elissonde in the GC contenders group. Just a shame Roux couldn't stay with Pirazzi, but then we do get two days of him wearing a fancy jersey - at least! |
