Talking of form Uran looking unexpectedly good to me so far and Peraud's form seems to be on the up again - looks like Bardet could find himself subservient again.
That said Tuesday will give the first definitive answers. |

BMC will take yellow again?
I think thats what Sky might want and BMC will go all out in the TTT with a squad that can win it, I think TJ might be in yellow after tomorrows stage
SKY won't give away the jersey in the TTT on purpose, that is for sure. They can't control the other teams at all, so they need to go flatout, and I am sure they would love to keep yellow after tomorrows stage.
On stage 10 they will happily give the jersey away though.

Bardet lost time.
Nibali was also weak, he was in the first group to be sure, because Gesink said he saw Nibali was almost standing still (figuratevely, as to say Nibali was going badly).
So for me it's between Froome/Contador/Quintana. Where I still think Contador will pay for his Giro. |

Nibali is not a challenger this year for yellow.
like Andy was not a contender in 2011 when he got dropped here..
The group was much smaller though, only 8 men or something. Now it were almost 30 men. Nibali should have bee nthere |

Year after year Ag2r gets these kind of wins. Happy for them and for Vuillermoz.

Rui Costa also keeps losing time. Perhaps he should just drop back entirely and go for stages.

I didn't say they would do it on purpose but I also don't think they will be all that bothered if BMC takes the win and TJ moves into yellow, TJ will get dropped at some stage in the mountains

Schleck was 22nd in 2011. Nibali 29th today. Not much difference

Froome is so strong in this TDF so far that it would take a big crash or a mechanical for him to not wear yellow at Paris |

Glad Vuillermoz won today, but kinda ironic that Bardet loses time....Froome setting the pace on the climb, why? I don't get it. Seems like he still has much to learn when it comes to GTs.
Sagan didn't have the power - he didn't even beat Valverde in the sprint.
Present:
Tinkoff-Saxo - AG2R - Colombian riders
Past:
Francisco Mancebo - Illes balears - Carlos Sastre - Kelme - Robbie McEwen

Again, you're looking at the wrong figures.
2011 was much harder ridden, given the fact the first group was only 8 men big (or 10, max, don't know exactly). Schleck was in the, big, 2nd group. No real issue
Now the first group was 2,5 times as big.... and Nibali wasn't even in that group. In fact, he was simply dropped from the group. And with the names still being in that group such as Julien Simon and Paul Martens, that is much, much worse than Schleck in 2011.
But suit yourself, interpret it your way and keep believing Nibali will perform miracles. He'll need some bloody (har har bloody, get it?) good 2nd and 3rd week... |

Schleck that day was badly positioned and was just of the back but was holding it at 8 seconds, Nibali cracked and was gapped reasonably easily by the big GC favourites plus a whole bunch of other riders. The climb was ridden harder leading upto and on the climb in 2011 so yeah just looking at finishing positions you can say they are similar but when looking at the reality they were different rides.

about Nibali..bad thing is that he no team around him..he was all alone at the end.
Taaramäe can not help..he is deep hole (like past 3 years)
Kangert has Giro on he's legs ..in mountains maybe he can start rolling..he is tough guy (still wondering why they send him tour after Giro).
Scarponi ? where ..waiting mountains? |

Exactly this. Look back at the final km. Nibali was in prime position just a few spots behind FRoome. Then at 700m he completely collapses outside the group |

Had a feeling Valverde would take 3rd after it looked like the main group would come in and fight for 3rd, he always does that.
Great move by Vuillermoz!

Indeed it was. Just watched the highlight broadcast, what I'd originally missed when watching live was that Vuillermoz tucked back in after his own initial attack on the climb.
They cut between cameras as Froome caught the lead trio and I thought it was a different AG2R rider off the front previously and that Vuillermoz had sat tight. - wrong.
Makes it even more impressive that he had enough to go again and then put 10 seconds into the GC guys by the line |

Martin always seems to find a way to be badly positioned! Made it well to the turn only to be boxed in on the climb until it was too late.
He really does. He was up there on the turn, but of course is on the wrong side and can't get out to counter the attack. I cannot be disappointed at this point though. I'm just happy he made it to the line.
