Tzortzakis seems to have seen something in Ahlstrand that cant really be justified. He grabs the wrong wheel, and this time ending horribly.
Oh well, Ricco placed himself well.

Van Beasten once again, congrats Venchi!
First sign of Grosu in this years racing, i am pretty happy with top10, but after such a great positioning it could have been top5 to make it perfect.
Thanks for the report!

Holloway 4th again - he has got in the mix and I cannot complain. Frankenstiens monster is just beast.
Mohs having no energy is explainable until you see Lo Cicero doing well and Pokerstars have reasons to be a little miserable about that stage.
Hagen looks hungry and yes my predo about Trofitruffle is looking false we shall see we enter the critical phase and I sense OlegTinkov is getting him ready for his moment.

And really..FROOME doing leadout?? WHAT... if he doesn't get Top 5 here I'm taking 1 month sabbatical away from here, maybe it will help the riders.

If I was Hagen I would concentrate more on Taaramäe and Ricco the next two stages, which in my eyes - as mentioned earlier - look more mountain than hill.
Trofimov has to try to limited his time loses coming stages, and ifso he maybe can do something on the last day. And thanks for reporting roturn!

This race is turning out to be way better than what I was expecting. Amazing efforts by Castroviejo and Lammertink.
It's a shame that neither of them managed the stage win, but if nothing big happens tomorrow (which I kind of doubt though) the GC looks really good for me.

Meh, lame stuff. At least Gazelle and not Pendle again
Hard to judge this stage, but Trofimov/Skujins obviously showing some ambitions for a maybe crucial gap afterall.
Pity with Phelan. Maybe our only real chance for a breakaway win

Great couple of stages for us! Van Stayen with a fine win on stage 5 despite our team failing to deliver a train, and now Kruijswijk moving into the polka dot jersey, getting a nice stage result on his way. I really hope he can keep it, but Castroviejo will also for sure be looking to grab more points on the next stages.

100% fuckup rate in MO/HI stages in the GC races so far. I wonder if a Leader will ever win a stage.

Thanks guys! Very cool to get my first PT win.
Well timed attack by Furdi. He was extremely clever in 2013, good to see he hasn't lost his wit.
Our Team Classification battle with Movistar is now extremely close; 0 second difference at the moment.

well well well, skujins had a real nice day there - hopes are raised of a top 5 here. As I thought SN selected the parcours carefully so that this really was a hilly race not a hilly race that was really a mountains one.
The breaks are sticking and the masses are restless, sorta cool that bonifications don't open up bigger gaps. Actually screw that I want my 12 seconds!

Definitely a sign of weakness from Boasson Hagen, unfortunately.
On the other hand, clearly a good thing that the breakaway got the bonus seconds just like they did when Boasson Hagen was the strongest of the favourites, if they hadn't, Trofimov would have had quite a gap.
But first of all, those breakaway riders really need to be gapped on the next stage, hopefully Boasson Hagen is up for it, as he looks good for at least an overall podium if they're able to distance Diggle, Castroviejo and Paulinho.
Congratulations on another superb sprint by Van Staeyen, Sykkel_Freak, and also to DubbelDekker for his first win in the PT.
And thanks for the report, roturn |

Another break, this is getting boring right?
Ofc not for Gazelle, congrats DD! Ignatiev with a fast finish in the big group, right behind Van Stayen. Top35 GC is all he can get here, lets see what happens in final stage.
Thanks for the report!

Well after much moaning from the usual suspects we get a favourite winning and a big win too from Hagen that could just nab him a victory over that Trofitruffle.
Meanwhile I will be having a private party of my own, all are invited bring two chicks per person please... that is if Toms Skujins holds on for third place. So far he has given an absolutely faultless display, this stage he rode really well for 4th position our favourite place in this race it seems.
But yeah to be ahead of so many good names is really nice. Hagan and Trofi obviously from a differing planet.
Aker close to magnificent double too big congrats to ember, that was a big performance from Eddy Boss, could this be his big season?

Great stage from Bobridge! Didn't really show himself too much, but it looks like he just hang on with today's best right from the first crucial split/moves there. That's all I can ask for, so his strong finish on the stage should now make for a great GC-result.. still too close ahead of a few names behind him though.
Boss! Aker on fire. Can only imagine what a points haul this will be.. Skujins I had my money on. He will enjoy a very good season, I guess.
Thanks for another nice read, roturn!

Great to see Boasson Hagen bounce back on Mende! Thanks for the congratulations, Smowz and tsmoha.
It feels really huge that he actually is able to gap all the others again, and this time take the stage as well. Martin wrote history for us winning our first ever Pro Tour stage race, and Boasson Hagen could make it two here if he defends on the final stage.
But with only seven second separating him and Trofimov, I think I would very much like to see a breakaway with no dangerous riders ride go away and take the stage and eliminate possible bonus seconds for Trofimov and Boasson Hagen. After all he will need to finish in front of him if both do a top 3 on the final stage.
That final stage will be thrilling! Thanks for the report, roturn. |
