Gomez Marchante this time staying in the front group is good.
But with a 77/78/78 sprinting trio here I had expected a bit more to be honest. Guardini was in the front group and should have tried to enter the top10.
Thurau though was listening to the tactics this time losing some time for a breakaway attempt.
If you don't have at least 80 in sprint then you won't even be close at this level it seems.
Really surprising to see Mohs taking a GT stage win, congrats beagle.
This is unfortunately often true and something annoying when you have 77/78/78 sprinters this season.
That said we have seen stages where those sprinters take part. Guardini has one podium for example this season, which shows, that if he takes part, which probably only happens with a +3 - +5 daily form, those 78+ sprinters can get points.
Next season should be better anyway with Guardini back at La Vie Claire as 80 sprinter and also Nizzolo with 80, Krieger 79 being my sprinters and Sbaragli already 74fl, 75sp, 66hi still unmaxed as leadout. |

It is simply the mangame-database with many top sprinters. I'm afraid Zabel wont be good enough next season even... Most likely will have to train him in the future as I want my Zabel to win :-p

That was a pretty bad stage. I have three riders whom could have done decently, but they didn't try. Especially David Boily did horribly considering his stats. I can only hope that means he will attack on the next hilly or downhill-ending mountainstages.
Ratiy losing time isn't all that surprising, though.

Hate those stages...
While I totally agree that Gomez Marchante should lose time. The amount is surely too much and more important so stupid when seeing, which riders made it into earlier groups...Christoph Mai for example. |

Another good stage for the Srb crew, no one really attacking it and allowing break to sweep time bonus is good. Just hoping for something special on the big mountain stage.
Must be infuriating for those with hilly leaders, there really isn't many chances in this vuelta for them, what a missed chance.

That was just ridiculous from AI. But thanks for the report, SN.
And if more hilly stages go like this, Alarcon is suddenly a favourite for at least a podium. That would be great to see, but not at the expense of Contador...
Though, it's obviously a good thing Contador hasn't lost any time to the other climbers, hopefully it stays that way on stage 4, and then we should have the first proper test on stage 5. Already looking forward to it!

Wow that AI.
Zingle with yet another amazing ride, too bad he couldn't take the jersey. He has easily been my most impressive rider this season.

With unexpected day off, Mohs could recover a little and survive that 2nd category climb coming in stage 4. I hope.

Tinkoff wasn't in any screenshot up until now so it doesn't bother me that much

Well I guess I was wrong about pokerstars - what an awesome start of the race they are having.
Of course in the SRB team bus morale is very high with Alarcon positioning himself superbly all the time thus far leading into the mountains in Southern Spain. If Jose is still in second after the mountain stage we will be satisfied - who knows it could be our first ever GT leaders jersey! Tenorio/ Contador and Machado are the trio we are watching the most.
More rubbish from Guerao really low points scoring from him in general and Van Heerden absolutely nowhere not sure ember is getting much out of him.

Another fantastic win, Maaskant and Degenkolb did their job for 120% to secure comfortable position for finishing Erik Mohs. I' m delighted.
I' m looking for first real test coming in upcoming stage. Hopefully Roche will get out from anonymity, although he can' t battle against big guns Alarcon, Contador or Tenorio. Smart middle stage attack might be very helpful, though.

Olivier in the breakaway is nice. My sprinters not participating a pity even though it`s expected.
Probably need some other sprinters being over the time limit to make my sprinters going for the sprint. That said, my sprinters will probably be one of the first OTL. |
