Simply don't get why his Giro win wasn't taken away as well.
Same year as the Tour, perhaps earlier than they can record on the blood pass, but come on -.- |

yeah, it's also odd that he got to keep his win in the Vuelta from 2012.

isn't there some cut off date where results can't be taken away (2 years iirc) and both his Vuelta (05 and 07) and his Giro (09) win are before that cut off date
The Tour however doesn't have those rules (see Armstrong)

I have seen circulating on twitter that Luca Paolini was fined for using his phone during the race. Well done UCI, it is dangerous, stupid and irresponsible to use your phone while Cycling.
A serious crash was caused on one of my club runs by someone using their phone.
I would of thought Paolini at his age would more sense than that.

There is nothing on the Team Sky website about this.

Why would there be? They usually announce their transfers late on as most teams to.
Anyhow, I think this will happen. They were very close to get Langeveld, and Boom was also a target before for them.

about 5 posts up, but more interestingly is his continued look to tackle the Hour. We might be on the edge of a great track battle between him and Cancellara in the next year or two

So with all the focus (naturally) on the Tour, a bit of race route news (not that many people seem to care about the routes these days, but I do ) that I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned in the news thread (unless I'm just being really unobservant)
2015 Giro d'Italia to start in Sanremo (shock horror a GT that starts in the right country!) with a TTT (like always), followed by a stage that finishes in Genoa, and then another stage in Liguria.

Highly likely that we will have a Finestre-Sestriere stage as the penultimate stage as well, given that the finish will be in Turin I think. Or they could be nice and give us Fauniera-Sampeyre, but I doubt it.

And then the first full 2015 route has been revealed, the TDU of course. No Corkscrew hill this year, instead a mix of stages (plus Willunga blah blah) like an uphill sprint on Stage 1.
Spoiler 18 January: People's Choice Classic (Adelaide) – 51 km
20 January: Stage 1 – Tanunda to Campbelltown – 132.6 km
21 January Stage 2 – Unley to Stirling – 150.5 km
22 January Stage 3 – Norwood to Paracombe – 143km
23 January: Bupa Stage 4 – Glenelg to Mount Barker – 145km
24 January: Stage 5 – McLaren Vale to Willunga Hill – 151km
25 January: Be Safe Be Seen MAC Stage 6 – Adelaide (final route to be determined)

Alberto Contador sufferes from a broken tibia, which can prevent from training in a period of 5-6 weeks. This can have a huge effect on his Vuelta a España, if he will be at the start......
