I'm starting to feel real old... First Maksimov wins Stage 1 and now Duenas is wearing the KoM jersey. Got to say it's really weird seeing your former riders names next to a different mini-jersey.
With a certain someone out, it's Cobo's time to shine on stage 3.

Great, although I somehow expected something like this to happen from SN's twitter ''I'd better say nothing about Mallorca'' it just had a hint of surprise winner there meaning Froome would fail
Oh well shit happens. He's probably injured, but if not, then I hope he attacks early tomorrow.

Actually that was just a teasy comment based on the fact a few were talking about it. There was no intended hint of a surprise in there! It's a shame for the race really, to have Froome lose that much time - never great when a favourite crashes.
Meanwhile, a very lucrative start for Project:Africa and RBC, especially with leadout men picking up the next positions.

And Cabrera dissapoints. Damn you PCM, why you make a train for my team?
At least on the bright side, Becerra keeps himself out of trouble by beeing on the train. Now, for tomorrow and for that GC top 10! |

Not a great sprint by Corioni, but honestly I'd rather see him be a bit behind in the GC than having the leaders jersey on the hill stage. Hopefully that will avoid any captain issue with Di Maggio.
Really deserved win for Vanderbeist I think. RBC has been in the mix for the win on nearly every sprint stage throughout the season, so it's nice for them to finally get a victory.
Lastly, I feel sorry for Alakagom. Never fun to see your captain crash.

I know Cardoso isn't a top class sprinter, but this was bad, even for his standards...
My entire team up front, and Smirnovs almost last, again... Avin will be pleased...

Loss of Durasek and Froome is a shame. I would've liked to see Froome take top honours for Quickstep here. At least RBC can find some good consolation in the performances of Vanderbiest and Docker today - congrats!
Maksimov continues to impress! PCM13 just loves him. Job done for Mallorca - stage win and podium place. Great stuff from him. Now with Froome out of contention, maybe Hategeka can finish top 5 or the odd chance of a podium. This would result in a race where we scored over 100 points! Well, that's if he finishes top 5 and if he doesn't crash. So far we've already accumulated +-52 points!

Ouch, that's very unfortunate for big favorite Froome and QS.
The leadouts are flying in this tour!
Glad our talents are attacking so often.

Lavoine looked boxed in this time around.
And crashes always suck

Hugely disappointing for Quick Step there, although it's not a nightmare for them considering Marquez's form
Now for someone from a lower end of the table team to win, Project Africa or UPC maybe please. |

Good sprint from Wegmann there, doing a good job on these early stages. Now hopefully he can replicate that form on the hilly stage and finish somewhere respectable.
Van Zyl in the break is also nice to see. Bad luck for Quickstep and RBC (to a lesser extent) though. |

Was nice to see Armindo Fonseca fought well for a good positions in the first two sprints... but sad to see he couldn't even follow the lead out pace.
Next stage will decide (as for many other teams I guess) if the race days were wasted,... can't hardly wait.

I am quite happy with that stage. Duenas shwoing the jersey and has the lead in thr KOM. Was great to see him attacking. Hopefully he or someone else attacks on stage 3 but for the win as well.

Hoffman abandoning is bad, i mean this was a nice chance in a lesser sprinter field and 2nd+4th stage looked ideal for him. Well, at least we still have GC leader, unlike Quickstep. Rabon looks very focused and hungry with almost stealing top10 from sprinters, i hope this is good sign for 3rd stage, cant wait.
Congrats to RBC!

Shame Konovalovas couldn't keep as well as I had hoped him to do...
I would be very, very pleased with 30 points from this race now...

Bittersweet win. In one sense I am happy, in other I am not at all considering we would have won the GC here too. Oh well at least it's our 5th win of the season and not complete waste, good results by our three other riders too. Still has too be viewed as 110 points lost to me and a lost chance to take over and lead the rankings.
Venchi storming!

Fernandez and Arredondo finishing in the leading group is good for us. They are at 24th and 26th in the GC and an attack on Stage 4 could provide them with an interesting result.
Unfortunate for Duenas here. Only 2 points behind though.
And in Team Classification 5th as a CT team is pretty good in my opinion.
