Team CSC-Orbea's results so far this season have been updated on page 1!
Still trying to figure out how we rank 6th in the PCT Standings, but I guess our consistent and steady approach is paying off well.
Tour of Japan is up next for the team before we head out to our 2nd goal race of the season, the lengthy cobbled Avila Classic which is on home soil.

I was expecting a man game plot twist with the manager of CSC being shot dead or something.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

@BBL: I'm not dead yet. Just lurking in the background.
@cio93: A commitment is a commitment. The history of the MG is what makes it so special. I couldn't just abandon my team in the middle of the season. That said, my commitment for future seasons as manager is still up in the air until a final decision is made at the end of the season.

*All point totals are from my calculations, they could be a few errors.

Working so far. If I decide to stick around for next season I'm going to have a mess to deal with in the offseason. Hopefully that mess comes with a one million dollar promotion bonus. Would make things a little easier.

Tour d'Andorra - What could have been...
David Abal wins Stage 3 of the highly anticipated Tour d'Andorra.
The captain finally delivered.
Attacking 7kms from the line, Abal rode solo all the way to the top.
Surprisingly enough it's his first win in two seasons at Team CSC-Orbea.
The gutsy attack put him in the driver's seat with two stages remaining.
With sights set on winning CSC-Orbea's first stage ever,
Abal threw it all away on the mountain ITT on Stage 4.
The team's 2nd yellow jersey of the season was lost.
Abal didn't have anything left. He used it all up the day before,
losing 1'16" and giving his yellow jersey to Domenico Pozzovivo.
Stage 5 came and went without a major move. Abal finished 3rd overall.
The team fails it's preseason goal to win this HC mountain battle.
Although we do come away with a great point haul and a very strong showing.
With races like this we should be in the promotion hunt until the very end.

Last Season for CSC and Orbea? Tape Leaked!
Madrid, Spain - Team CSC-Orbea is under fire this evening after a tape was leaking of a meeting held today with their primary sponsors CSC and Orbea. Tempers flared after Manager Mresuperstar presented the team's offseason training regimint for Omar Fraile and Marcos Altur.
"Are we throwing away this season? This kid isn't going to be the next Fabian Cancellara, he needs to be able to stick with the team in the mountains. And more hills, prepare Altur for the Pro Tour monuments not the Cigar City Brewing Twilight GP. Our money, our decision."
"Sir, um... the plan is already finalized. It was sent in earlier today..."
"You morons. First it was going over the wage cap in the first season, then it was getting your asses saved from relegation last year,
and now you're throwing in the towel after those
little pesky Aussies got on a lucky hot streak.
Pathetic. Promotion or we are out.
We can't fund a losing cause anymore."
It appears Mresuperstar and Team CSC-Orbea are on the hot seat.
We will be covering this story closely and will bring you
any breaking news when we receive it.

All Eyes Fixed on
Tour of Southland and Urkiola Igoera - Subida Urkiola
Invercargill, New Zealand - After the recent fallout between
CSC-Orbea and their manager we were lucky enough to catch up
with Mresuperstar to ask him a few questions as the
team prepares for the Tour of Southland.
Invercargill hosted the Stage 1 prologue of the Tour of Southland.
"These next two races are extremely important," Mresuperstar said.
"I could care less about my job being on the line at the moment,
I care more about this team and keep the group of guys together."
Reports earlier in the week confirmed that CSC-Orbea
will be stepping down from cycling if this team doesn't
promote to the Pro Tour after this season.
"I get that it's a performance sport, just like any professional sports,
you have to win and have to be relevant to keep people happy."
We have had a great 3 years with CSC and Orbea,
if this is the end of the road it's still been a hell of a ride."
When asked what are the plans for the future if things take a turn for
the worst Mresuperstar was reluctant to answer but did finally say:
"Yes, I'm not going to lie, I did consider leaving the sport.
But a few days after this whole incident blew up I have received
a offers from other sponsorships interested in taking over
the team if CSC-Orbea does decide to step down."
That's all I can say right now. I really have to go...
I have to make sure Abal gets his morning practice ride in."
Abal later finished 6th in the prologue, 10 seconds off the lead.
CSC-Orbea was playing hard ball to start the week,
but after Mresuperstar's parting comments perhaps
the manager is holding all the cards at the moment.
Tense times as the team goes off to battle in two critical
races led by team captain David Abal that will play a huge
factor in deciding if this team remains in the PCT or joins the PT.

CSC and Orbea Make It Official: They are Pulling Out
Madrid, Spain - It's a done deal, finally. After weeks of tense interactions between the management and sponsors of Team CSC-Orbea, they have mutually agreed to part ways after the season is over.
The announcement was made a few hours ago after Michael Rogers from Australian PCT team Oz Cycling won the Post Danmark Rundt.
The team now looks destined to finish 6th in the PCT standings and
miss out on promotion by one spot. Enough for CSC and Orbea to
pull the plug with two months left in the season.
After three seasons at the helm, Mresuperstar's team has yet to win
a stage race overall and has yet to complete more than 2 team goals
given to him before the start of the season.
However, it was a mutual agreement.
"It was time to move on," Mresuperstar said. "Most cycling teams are luck to last 3 years. It was a fun ride but it feels right ending it here."
Mresuperstar won't be out of job for long with sponsors knocking on his door after his role in turning around the CSC-Orbea program from nearly out of the PCT to fighting for promotion in one season.
Reports have confirmed Spanish sponsors Santander, Movistar,
and Caja Rural have reached out to Mresuperstar.
But it seems he is a little home sick.
Pro Tour Santander is on the verge of disabandoning after their
manager vanished leaving the team up in smoke.
"Living in Spain has been cool, but I'd like to go back home."
Later going on to say:
"I can't disclose the teams I have talked to at this point nor what's going to happen to the riders at CSC-Orbea. Papers have to be signed first."
For now we can only speculate who Mresuperstar has contacts with. Although it sounds like an agreement is already close to being reached.

Not cool to make Oz the reason for your team and sponsor parting ways
Still a way to go, still enjoying to see us both up the rankings!

Hopefully you continue in the Man-Game next season under new sponsorship because that would at least give me a goal of becoming the top Spanish dominated team in the Man-Game World.
Spoiler Maybe CSC-Orbea becomes Santander...

Abal Pushes CSC-Orbea Closer To Promotion
Vienna, Austria - It's over, the long wait is finally over.
David Abal wins the 2014 Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt.
Team CSC-Orbea's first stage race win in team history.
After the race the rankings were updated:
| | | Team | Total | RD | 1 | 1 | | Heineken-Cal Giant | 4028 | 134 | 2 | 2 | | Quickstep | 3920 | 134 | 3 | 3 | | Oz Cycling Project | 3284 | 117 | 4 | 5 | | Bacardi Limited | 3060 | 136 | 5 | 6 | | Team CSC - Orbea | 2932 | 129 | 6 | 4 | | Venchi - Ferranti | 2924 | 123 |
We caught up with Mresuperstar after the race to get his thoughts:
"We are in a better position than a month ago but there is still a lot of work ahead to stay in a promotion position. One race at a time.
"It's going to be even tougher with Abal finished with his season.
We are going to need Ventoso to step up along with Cobo and Plaza."
We were also able to get a little more news out of him
about the team's future and possible new sponsors.
"I'm in talks with a few major companies in Spain and back stateside.
Something will be finalized soon but until then that's all I can say."

Deal Falls Through - No Homecoming
Los Angeles, California - An agreement to bring American
cycling manager Mresuperstar back to the United States
for the 2015 Man-Game season has broken down.
The popular American based video service company YouTube issued a statement today saying they have decided to back out of a verbal agreement they had with current manager of Team CSC-Orbea.
Youtube CEO Susan Wojcicki said in the statement,
"On paper it looked like a good time to rejoin the cycling scene,
but we struggled to come to terms on a fair agreement for both sides."
YouTube partnered up with Twitter in 2011 under the direction of Wiggo.
The team finish 23rd in the CT and disabandoned after one season.
Former CSC-Orbea captain Igor Anton was a key cog on that team.
Anton attacking in Stage 5 of the 2011 Euskal Bizikleta.
Google and Android were going to be involved as secondary sponsors.
There was even a jersey in the works by designer
Jakstar22 before everything was called off.
Mresuperstar was reluctant to comment on the fallout with
his team currently in Portugal fighting for every point
in order to promote at the end of the season.
"We talked, and made a verbal agreement early on,"
Mresuperstar said, "It fell apart we got into the team makeup."
After a few probing questions, he finally gave in and added:
"They wanted to cut all Spanish ties currently in the program.
I just couldn't do that with these group of guys, they are my family.
Young or old, they at least deserve a shot on my next team."
Mresuperstar wouldn't comment on possible sponsorship deals
he might be currently working on. "You'll know when it's finalized."
