Finally, it means that Cofidis can't race the .2 French races and, if I am not very much mistaken, it makes them ineligible to win the French Cup. Of course I could be wrong on that final point and Aquarius or someone else may be able to correct me.

I mean, how can people not realise how huge the potential return on investment from a cycling team is? You can get a rider like Contador, who has a huge media presence and a decorated palmares for only 3.3 million Euro!
Only? Contaodr is getting 3.3M from Riis plus 2M from Specialized for a victory in the Tour de San Luis. I'm not sure what's the international recognition of Contador, but my experience is that he hasn't much more presence than, to say a random footballer that I know well, Roberto Soldado, who was earning just the same until his move to Tottenham. And that without the word doping being inmediately associated to his name, unlike Contador.

Also as inrng pointed out the other day, the wage budget of Manchester United could probably cover the wages of every single rider in the WorldTour.
I'm not sure what's the point of this. The wage of Contador could probably cover the entire wage budget of a mid table handball team in Spain.

True for the first point, wrong for the second.
Their "weak" roster is fine for .2 races, but if they can't race those any more, they'd need to get stronger riders.
How they not get any result out from that ok list? And keep over train and fail with promising riders.
The whole staff is weak, if I was a youngster with little to no clue about how to train I'd definitely not want to sign for Cofidis.
I'm not sure if it's case for all of them, but WT teams have much higher standards of competency than Cofidis.
You can blame their roster too, but Sojasun's staff was a trillion times better than Cofidis' as well.
I've been in Sainte-Catherine-Waver (or Sint-Katelijne-Waver) and I don't like to ride my bike there. Very dangerous bike paths, it doesn't surprise me she died there. RIP
