Does anyone know if Amador will have the chance to go for a result of his own today?
I'd really like to see him try. Judging from other time trials this season - and in particular the harder ones - I reckon he could be an outsider for a top 5, or even a podium.
This is of course a long shot, given that he'll probably have to take it easy to remain fresh for the final mountain stages.

I have no idea, but I think it's beyond his abilities, though there's really strong field.
I just imagine if he could get more time in descend on other favourites, that he will definitely lose uphill. I doubt that will happen.

Westra sets a new top time, 54'02, a minute and a half in front of O'Grady and a minute in front of Sicard.
Times like this make me hope the thunderstorm starts now and Westra remains in first place |

Peraud has a broken collarbone, but will still give it a try.
Gorka Izaguirre won't start, due to illness.

My prediction: relatively small gaps, then Froome comes and crushes everyone. |

Tony Martin is riding on a normal road bike until ~10km to the finish. Then he will change to his TT bike. |

Come on, 1'48 on Kittel is awful

First descent is very technical, riders with TT bikes will lose a lot of time there.
Second descent is very fast and a Timetrial bike gives a big advantage there

Tony loses 22" atop the first climb, let's see how he handles the descent
Edit: Van der Schueren says the best riders will go 4 minutes faster as Westra. Could put some riders oot

Kittel was third in the u23 world time trial when it was in Australia, he's not hopeless against the clock
beat the likes of Kwiatkowski, Olivera, Talansky, Dowsett and Navardauskas in that too

Kittel is good timetrialist but not a good climber which is necessary on this parcours.
Moser 2nd time behind Westra. Wouldn't surprise if Sagan gets a very high position if he goes for it like in the first timetrial.

Yeah, should be a good course for Peter, even more when first descend is very technical. I can see him attacking top15 again, if he is not taking it easy ofc.

Looking at the official Tour website (and PCS actually) can someone explain to me how Radioshack are leading the team classification despite Monfort being their best placed rider in 16th?

They had 3 riders in the break yesterday which gave them 30 minutes over teams with riders in the peloton

The team classification is not based on the time from the gc. The classification is based on the time of first three riders from the team in each stage.
