The Belgian 4x400 squad will make history in half an hour as the first team sporting three brothers.

How many Borlees are there? They're not triplets, I hope?

Jonathan and Kevin are twins. Dylan is a younger brother. The Sister Olivia is also a sprinter who took olympic silver on the 4x100 in Bejing. If only she could run with her brothers

Its called self advertising... Apparently she opened a Hair Salon in Jamaica and wants to tell the whole world that she gets "free" haircuts!
Well, if youz got the change and have no better (and more lucrative) business ideas to spent it on, then why not. It does however look like someone spit his gum into her hair and she just went with it...

Shouldn't have said about only a few hot female athletes, should have watched the high jump final first....
Emma Green, Airine Palsyte, and even that Russian winner. Man, if only they weren't that skinny.....

13th place for Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal in the womens 5000m and 8th place for Jaysuma Saidy Ndure in the 100m is not bad. Sadly we didn't get any medals this WC (still got Ingebrigtsen in the mens 1500m, though), but it's not that bad.

You're right. Let's all stop caring about the genocide in Syria, after all it's not the only country where it happens, so fuck those people, let them die.
Your logic is stupid Sir.
Anyway, Bolt with 8th gold is legendary, shame that i dont believe him being clean at all, maybe time will tell.
Vesely and Hejnova got gold medals as expected, so no surprises here, good job from Maslak with his 5th too.

Nevin Yanit (for those of you who dont follow athletics, she is a turkish 100m hurler with a pb of 12,58 [in comparison Sally Pearsons PB is 12,28]) has been officially suspended by the TAF for 2 years for doping violations.
Since the ban comes from the Turkish Federation, she may keep her gold medals from the Euros in Helsinki (2012) and Gothenburg (2013, indoors), but then again, the federation has not revealed from when those Violations were (started)...
So this is the second European champion from 2012 that has been suspended. Aslı Çakır Alptekin (Olympic and European Champion over 1500, both in 2012) has been caught previously n banned substances and was provisionally suspended by the Turkish Federation, but since WADA and the IAAF are looking into it, she is looking at a lifetime ban...

I'm watching the broadcasting of the election for the host city of the 2020 Olympic Games. I'm praying my ass of for Istanbul to get it because I don't want all the events to take place at 3 in the morning here!
It was bad enough when Nagano hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics.

Istanbul did get it, didn't they? Would be about time, anyway. That way, the Euros 2020 semis + final will almost certainly go to munich.

I think the doping scandal did influence the IOC's choice.

-Big investment in infrastructure necessary
-Much corruption and dope in sports
Madrid
Pre
-Not much money for buildings needed
-Very compact games
-3rd candidature in a row
Against
-Crisis
-Corruption Rajoy
-Bad fighting against dope
Tokyo
Pre
-Low risk of danger and political issues
-Compact games, low time of travelling
-4 billion euros already guaranteed for budget
Against
-Couldn't explain why they wanted the games
-Least surface under the citizens
