Wait what? Polivoda positioned himself quite good this time
I happily take second now...
Nicolae has to attack on the next stage, a KoM jersey would be so cool
Just to let you know I searched the top 10's Climbing skills:
Ciocan 66
Papok 54
Rizza 56
Rijntjes 55
Lasca 58
Polivoda 62
Tiainen 51
Marque 71
Sys 58
Vennell 58
And further behind:
12. Rodas 76
13. Larsson 75
14. Kirchen 72
15. Kononenko 74
So my guess is those 4 + Ciocan and Marque will fight for the GC.

Chicchi is consistent... but a bit rubbish. The fact Mihaylov is ahead of him in the Points comp emphasizes that fact. Now need the Colombians to do something good on the mountain to salvage this race. Thank god we had an amazing 5 Jours!
Rodas is best placed to win the race now, but Marque could spoil the party. Don't think Ciocan will be able to hold on, but he will finish high up

Sprints are just so random!
Somehow Lay is the most consistent though I feel like he sucked on 3 stages

Please Kono stay on your bike now and get this top 10 goal secured...
Shame Tanovitchii didn't try to attack the KoM jersey, on the other hand Polivoda gained points in the fight for green, which at the end will also give me some points to add to our total

Happy to see those former Red Bull and CSC riders going well, inconsistent bastards but they were good on the Romanian climb.
Convincing and decisive climb, heartening for th Giro.

Ndbri couldn't do better then 7th in this weak climbing field 8th overall is not satisfactory at all, our season seems to be going downhill.
Schinker failing here also with just one Top 10. This race needs to end fast. Anyway, nice to see some good racing and gaps even if it ends bad for us. |

Good:
Matteau winning the KoM jersey
Bad:
Basically everything else this race. Naibo I know isn't some sort of superstar but losing 8 minutes is hilariously bad. He has 75 Mountain! Having no one in the top 40 of the overall GC is just sad and pathetic from the team.
Not a good race for us obviously.

I was thinking the same thing watching the climb unfold.

Boeing show flashes of brilliance... flashes... Top3 from Bustamante is brilliant and more than i realistically hoped for.
Dominant ride from Marzano up front though, no-one was even close to him!

When Marzano has to deliver, he does. Great ride, and a sponsor goal grabbed. If he crashes on the last stage, i am out the closest window. |

It isn’t the first time that because we are over aggressive we don’t archive the position we should… It’s a pity but I’m proud at least we tried.
Congratulations Marzano and Kappa, at least, for once, the fav has won the race.
Thanks to Mresuperstar for the enjoyable read.

Hahaha So true!
Great ride by Rodas! Really did better than I expected. And yes, he is an inconsistent [I'm not sure what the policy on swearing is on Daily]
Congrats to the other guys in blackandyellow, Kappa-Eni! MTN just wasn't strong enough to bring Marzano back

8th and 4th overall. Great job Larsson. John is also doing well in the youth competition. So great race so far! |

Was really hoping one of my climbers could sneak in the stage top 10 here. Gallego and Perez Sanchez just miss out and are both in the 10-15 region in GC.
Winning the last stage and taking home the points competition is what remains for Lay

The guy who refused to do anything good for 200k+ wages last year.. Cadbury scores better then Oz atm. Time to go to bed i guess.

Renshaw with a very surprising win. It`s the first time since a breakaway in last years Southland on stage 6 since I remember him being mentioned.
Was Cadbury racing at all before that month? If so they were surely not riding as great as at the moment. |

Great job from Marzano, he was the cut above the rest on mountain finish, not even close for others, congrats to Kappa.
I am really happy for Tanovitchi, loaned in to PrivatBank from our team, shame he did not win the jersey in the end, that would be a nice "compensation" for PrivatBank giving him such a chance to develop his skills. I hope he develops into crazy mountain points attacker.
Cadbury are reborn in May, good last few races, also Papok did well in Romania.

Cadbury had a fairly light schedule in the early months, they do have decent hopes of all round results in Southland also. Lets not get carried away they are a very average team, who'll be disappearing come seasons end. Still tey could start putting pressure on Halfords and JK cycling near the bottom of he rankings.
Renshaw I think has decent recovery and had several decent positions, interesting that we had such variety of stage winners here, indicating how narrow the sprint competition is in the Ctour.
Marzano takes the win and happy to see those Colombians do something decent.

10th GC, 2nd KoM, 6th Sprint, Podium finish, all great, but what counts: Sponsor goal reached!!!
Now 2/3 done, next goal top 5 at Horizon Park.

Dissapointing sprints from Guillen, but 2 guys top 10 GC definatly makes up for it!
Grabbing Youth and Team is definatly a nice bonus aswell.
