Endura has decent goals like Tour of Britain but also Paris Nice top10.

So obviously most teams have decent ones but the best teams in CT division for example have similar goals like the weaker teams in PCT.
Same might count for weakest PT and strongest PCT teams.

But in general the goals are far better.

And now to some bad news: I read that Eyjolfur has said that all custom races now should be in mod/stages so I dutifully moved them there (all 3 I have converted so far) and game dutifully crashed everytime I picked them,so I moved them to CM_Stages and now they were working very fine...so apparently that is a NO Fix from Cyanide.

What worries me the more is that the the stage Editor now won't let you load games from PCM11 but crashes (I had just changed another race from 11) and wanted to final edit it in 12----and CTD

Okay I thought maybe it is just that one so I tried to upload several (9) races which I hadn't touched since they were made in PCM11 and the editor again dutifully crashed.....Now that is really bad news.

I meant that you install PCM12 another time on version 1.0.0.0 and use this stage editor there to convert stages.

Often it`s because of cities close to water. Delete the city or move it at least and it might work. But sometimes something else can be the reason and you can`t convert. Then you can play with PCM11 stages as well. Especially on flat routes this doesn`t matter that much.

Steam automatically updated me to 1.3.0.0 whist I was away.

I've made a TdF 2012 startlist for the officialdb (will probably work with realname dbs too?), finally I can play the tour with real teams. I've attached it here in case someone else is interested.

I followed your advice reinstalled patch 1.2 and moved it and now the ditor functions. But then I reistanlled 1.3 and the stage editor still crashed, oh well I thought I'll try with a completely new stage...guess what It crashed...I think there is a severe error somewhere either on my side or Cyanide....I'll go for CyanideSmile But I could of course try an re-download patch 1.3 again and then see what happens

And that didn't work either,so my stage editor in 1.3 is useless

Just reinstall the whole game. Copy the 1.0.0.0 folder,
In one copy you install 1.3 to play. In the other you install 1.2 to convert. Or you make a third copy. Then you would always have a 1.0 version to have a clean copy.

Just out my own curiosity, whats the big deal where you have to place the files, isn't the important part that they work Wink

Or am I missing out on something?

It is possible to use CM_stages but i won't recommand it for the following reasons :

-Many users usually uninstall and delete their PCM install all the time. By doing this they would delete your custom stages as well and it will be harder for them to reinstall everything. I think it is far more clear if the original game has its original stage in a folder, and any additionnal pack is installed somewhere else.

-Cyanide can overwrite the CM_stages folder any time with a patch. CM_stages is considered as "official files repository" and any extra file in there can be deleted with a patch. In the stage pack that Cyanide will give for free, any stage can be overwritten if our stages has the same name. For the rest, we will try to avoid deleted files, but it can happen in CM_stages.

Note that another good reason for not overriding CM_stages is that Armada requires the original stages to work properly, and those who play with different stages will be kicked out of the ranked games. Friendly games will be allowed with variant stage but all the players of the room will need to have the exact same stages.

So, for the variants there isn't much problem in adding them to CM_Stages (except for the 2nd reason, which says that the CM_Stages can be "reset" with a patch but I find it a bit unlikely), but we can't overwrite stages for example (except for fake ones), otherwise gamers will have problem in Armada mode.

Very good explanation, but I NEVER play Armada, and I usually only use database stages & custom races, so I think I will stick with CM_Stages.

Actually I'm a little bit concerned that my editor don't work after 1.3 (and I have a feeling it is an XP problem),but I have followed the advice and th 1.2 editor works fine,and I can play the game so........
